  Ordered the "Godard" Bone Yard version online and been playing it for almost two weeks. This is my first Ovation guitar, and I have to admit it has great tone. Unplugged, the bass seems to project out a little better that the trebles, but it sounds nice. The fret board and neck are nicely done, as is the wicked graphics. Came with good quality D'Addario EXP strings installed. I did need to provide a little neck relief by adjusting the truss rod slightly to get rid of some bass string buzz at the 5th-7th fret area. The composite body is pretty confortable compared to my all wood acoustic Seagull S6, and the built in tuner/electronics work really well. I bought it initially because of the cool design, but I am really happy with the playability and sound!

  I was sceptical when I first saw this guitar but the art work on the bone daddy made me set my scepticism aside and order one. I mean you can't go wrong with Ovation. I've never owned a bad one. I pulled it out of the box and tuned it up and this is a great sounding guitar with smooth playability and the graphics give it a lot of character. If you want a flashy acoustic/electric that sounds great, plugged in or not this is a good choice.

  Over the years I've owned a few differant Ovation guitars and have really enjoyed them all. Alas I am a gear addict and have traded or sold away most guitars at one time or another. I've recently been looking for a new acoustic when I came across this guitar in a local shop. I am a big fan of the celebrity guitar line. They offer really great features, playability, and rich sound in a low to mid priced guitar. I recently saw an ad for the Demented collection and thought they looked amazing. I was huge fan of DJ's first national band Beautiful Creatures and the Sixx AM record, which he co-wrote with Nikki Sixx, is one of my favorites. Apparently Ashba is also an accomplished artist and these guitars are his actual designs. The Bone Yard is a collaboration with Michael Godard (The olive guy!). I actually played the Chrome Bone design which comes from one of DJ's tattoos. The guitar has good overall sound when not plugged in. It is warm and projects well without being overly loud. Plugged in this guitar really shined. More than one person stopped to check this guitar out while I was playing it. The neck has the classic Ovation feel and was set up very well right off the wall. While I love the finish, in reality I probably won't get it at this time as it may frighten my toddler twins. Or maybe I will!
