The Ovation Applause Series AE35 is a 12-string acoustic-electric guitar that's a Roundback. The AE35 guitar incorporates the revolutionary Ovation Lyrachord composite body - the revolutionary acoustic guitar design that has made Ovation a favorite with pro players for over 40 years. The dovetail heel/neck joint allows the neck angle to be accurately and permanently set at the factory. The low neck profile design on the Ovation Applause 12-string guitar is not only comfortable, but super-stable as well.

Featuring a spruce top with matched, lightweight bracing designed to enhance punch and projection, the AE35 12-string has a big, clear sound. The Deep Bowl composite body delivers rich, powerful tones and maximum acoustic output. The guitar’s center soundhole offers a traditional look, and its slim neck has an electric-style profile, 20 hand-finished nickel-silver frets, and low factory-set action. The AE35’s easy-to-use onboard DJ3 preamp has advanced tone-shaping EQ to help you refine your amplified sound

    So far, this guitar has been a very good purchase for the price. The neck is very playable: not as wide as many 12 strings, but wide enough for my hands. (I can't really play 6 string Ovations because the neck is too small.) Very low action, but the only buzz I get is my clumsy fingers trying to remember how to play 12 strings. The tone is consistent all along the neck. The electronics seem to be quite decent. Plugged it in during rehearsal the other night and the sound was good enough to inspire us to re-arrange a song we had been stuck on.
