If you don't tour, this case is fine. But I buy at least 3 to 5 new cases each year. Reason - the airlines can and will destroy a guitar case any chance they get. They pay for it, thank you. This case usually protects my guitar, but sometimes it doesn't. The plastic will fracture and will come apart at the metal binding. I wish that Ovation (or someone) would come up with a good case structured out of wood bracing like the pro touring models. If it cost twice as much, I would buy it to save my guitars! I have 2 Elite 12 string and 1 Adamus 6, all pre 1998, all full body, non cutaway. I want to keep them, not have them destroyed by using a cheap case.
I flew to Atlanta and decided to check in my guitar (never check in your guitar). I picked up the case and saw major damage to the bottom (tail) end of case. Expecting my guitar to be useless, it did not have a scratch on it! AA is replacing the case free of charge. This case did its job far more than I would have expected!
Have to mention, the Ovation 8158 case is solid and the plastic ABS exterior makes it much more durable than the other cases. It's a must for Ovation guitar owners, worth buying as it will last you for years.
