Huge, warm sound with premium features.

The insides of Orange County's drums are hand-sanded and then sealed to a satin finish. The edges always have a ply of flatness for a true sound and for maximum resonance. The edges are also sanded smooth for a very finished feel. All of OCDP's logo badges are engraved aluminum for a custom look.

Offset lugs
The lugs are made from an aluminum/zinc alloy that is far stronger than the zinc #3 that virtually all other drum lugs are made of.

Offset lugs are lugs that are not directly in line with each other and they are staggered either 50% or 7/8". This does nothing for the sound of the drum, but it gives the drum a more custom look which some people prefer.

Die Cast hoops
These hoops are a thicker-style hoop than the standard 2.3mm hoops used on the toms. They are used on the thicker ply snare drums and the vented drums as these tend to have a lot of ring and the die-cast hoops will help control this.

Trick Throw Off
The Trick throw-off has become the industry standard for throw-offs and is one of the strongest throws off on the market.

  • Arguably the best snare out there right now...

As reviewed by Nelson on 9/8/2010

This Orange County 7x13 Natural Ash Maple Snare has one of the loudest snare cracks out there. I also own a Pearl Masters 6.5x14 All Maple Shell Snare and this Orange County sound so much deeper, tighter, and louder. When I play live with this snare, its the first thing that everyone notices. Perfect for small church playing, concert playing and recording. I've personally heard the Ludwig Black Beauty Snare and still i love this Orange County so much better. Plus, the aluminum/zinc alloy on this snare makes for an ear popping rim shot. The other thing I'm very impressed with is the trick throw-off. Never have I felt such a smooth and easy to adjust throw-off. I haven't found one negative thing about this snare. I'm hoping I won't ever, because this snare so far has been very reliable. And all this not to mention on how beautiful the snare looks. The craftsmanship is genius and this snare isn't too heavy or too light. If you're looking for some of the tightest and loudest snare playing, the Orange County 7x13 Natural Ash Snare is the best out there.

I bought the 13 inch natural ash finish and I love it. It sounds great. I use it with my new tama birch/bubinga kit and it fits so well. Its got a warm tone and an awesome crack. This snare can stand up to any top of the line snare out there.

I bought this snare back in December and am more and more impressed with it everyday. You can tune the snare to your liking and because of the die-cast hoops it will stay in tune for a long time. the hoops also allow for a great rimshot. the snare wire tightener is very easy to use and doesn't loosen unless you twist it. with the right tuning you can almost entirely get rid of unwanted ringing sounds and with a Moongel, you can get rid of it entirely. I have the 6x14 Natural Black Burst and it looks amazing, sounds amazing and is without a doubt the most amazing snare ever.
