Comments about Orange Amplifiers Tiny Terror TT15JR Jim Root #4 Signature 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

First of all, This amp was designed to be a modern low wattage rock amp. 7 or 15 watts. Some reviewers give it a bad review based on unrealistic expectations. I use it in studio and rehearsal. Very loud for wattage. I put a reverb and a sonic max in the effects loop and can get HUGE, tight bottom end or fairly clean mid gain tones. Has an outstanding "violin" type single note lead tonality. Excellent crunch to "mean" rhythm tones. If I need to record cleaner Am type tone I use my Egnater Tweaker as it excels at that. I mostly use single coils, but sounds great with Humbuckers also. A little pricey? yep. A little fizzy on rhythm? back off the gain. Overall for heavier rock, low wattage single channel amp, haven't heard anything better. 4.5 stars

Good, but not as good as I expected

    By James Hare

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Tiny Terror TT15JR Jim Root #4 Signature 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This amp is surprisingly versatile, but more of the "Jack of all trades, master of none" kind of versatile. The gain is a little fizzy, grainy and unpleasant. Overall its a fun little amp to play, and has a very colorful clean tone, albeit only at quiet volumes due to the lack of channel switching. Also worth mentioning, this amp's gain is miles above the dark terror, which is miles above the tiny terror, but it's still just not a good metal amp, like the Jim Root endorsement would suggest.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Tiny Terror TT15JR Jim Root #4 Signature 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

It is what you make it!!! It's awesome even though it's made to be heavy and it's one channel q,that's ok. You torn the volume all the way up and slowly bring the distortion in and you get a beautiful blues sound. Takes pedals very well. And sound great through the effects loop. I would buy again.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Tiny Terror TT15JR Jim Root #4 Signature 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

First thing, this is made in China, not England like the good orange amps. Yes they blacked that part out in the photo of the back panel above. Not cool on guitar centers part. You can clearly see the difference in quality of the circuit board soldering and wiring vs any other England made orange or other high end amps. And only 1 channel so very limited in tones. Not for clean tones at all and only decent high gain tones. Very fizzy. With effects in the loop you can have some fun but don't buy this for studio use. If your looking for a low wattage amp for recording I highly recommend the mini rec. that's all I use in the studio and tracks very well from clean to extreme. I just wanted this to see what it was all about caus I'm a Jim root fan, I returned it after a week. Also another low wattage amp you may want to consider is the ironball. Great high gain, pretty good cleans if you tweak enough but the mini rec I still feel is the best of the lunchbox amps to date.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Tiny Terror TT15JR Jim Root #4 Signature 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This guitar amp has a lot of mids and highs, especially considering that it is a slipknot/ stone sour signature amp. The bass response is loose in detuned guitars and in 7 string guitars, so this is not the amp for you if you rely on a huge and tight low end like nu metal. This amp has a lot of gain potential, but when you crank the gain, you get a fizzy, grainy distortion. This guitar amp has limited headroom due to it being 25 watts. It is still a very loud amp for being 25 watts. If you are a numetaller, save some cash and buy an amp built for a huge and tight low end like a mesa boogie rectifier or a rivera knucklehead amp. If you like jim root and are a fan of the sound of a rockerverb, but don't have enough cash to buy a rockerverb, then I would recommend this amp for you. This amp is more of a rock amp than a metal amp with a slipknot/ stone sour endorsement. This could be good for crunchy rhythms and guitar solos in standard tuning. Also the clean tone is very quiet due to it being a 1 channel amp, so I would not recommend this amp to anyone who heavily relies on clean tones.
