Great Sound at a Great Price

By Dave Wiese

from Milwaukee, WI

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Tiny Terror Series TT15 15W Tube Mini Amp Head:

I was in the market for an EL84 style amp to get that nice high end crunch which British amps are known for. I have always been a fan of the Orange sound, but been afraid of the price. Kudos to Orange for building amps that are reasonably priced, and still SOUND like Orange amps (other builders have been less stellar in their "budget" lines). This thing excels at being a high gain sounding amp, at lower volumes while not sounding muddy or choked off like other low watt amps. The 3 knobs give you some great control, but not a lot of variance in voicing, but that can be expected from most single-channel tube amps. Clean, it sounds great, but tube break-up is early. All-in-all, this is a great overdrive sound that excels when paired with the PPC112.

amazing tone for a small size

By Patrick Grady

from Warwick, New York

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Tiny Terror Series TT15 15W Tube Mini Amp Head:

I always had to sacrifice tone for bedroom volumes until i got a TT. Now i can comfortably play with as much dirt as i want on this amp without disturbing neighbors or people in the next room. This amp is has the classic orange tone but at lower volumes, takes pedals great, does cleans very well and can even play small venues. I highly recommend this amp to anyone wanting a small versatile tube amp for bedroom playing and also for small gigs. I give it 5 stars!

Tiny and TERRIFYING!

By Imbo

from NY

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Tiny Terror Series TT15 15W Tube Mini Amp Head:

Look at this amp. Three dials and two switches. How good can this be? My friend brought this amp to on of his shows. When I first saw this..."Piece of Junk" came to my mind. Wow was I wrong! As soon as I heard this amp play i was stunned and couldnt believe it. I was searching for a head for a while and played on the Jet Citys. They were really nice heads but they had a slight buzz the whole time but were really cost effective. I saw that they had this amp and decided to test drive it. Wow can this thing deliver a PUNCH! It can have that nice Dave Matthews chill fat tone, Jimi Hendrix crunch, Message in a Bottle lows, Metallica heavys, and Steely Dan tones. These three dials can deliver any style tone you need. The price is EXTREMELY well worth it. You need to see it to believe it. This makes any cab sound awesome. This thing weighs around 6pounds and yet can deliver so much for only 15 watts. The tubes are fantastic and give that warm or crisp cleans and that hard crunch and metal tone. I use a Ernie Ball Volume pedal which is good because i use it as basically an overdrive pedal, and a Crybaby Wah which is absoluely amazing with this head. Prepared to be amazed....BUY IT!

Sounds Really Good Thru a 4 x 12 Cabinet!

By Alex

from Bloomington, IN

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Tiny Terror Series TT15 15W Tube Mini Amp Head:

Hey, I was writing to say that I checked the tiny terror out next to the vox night train side by side. I currently have a Marshall JTM 45, a '65 Fender bassman, a '68 Sears silvertone, a sixties Magnatone. I was looking for something I could actually take outside the studio, something smaller, not as loud as the JTM to play gigs. I used the same guitar, same cab. From the you tube vids it's really hard to tell because of the compressed mics. The tiny terror has WAY better sounding feedback, way smoother, warmer, fuller tone. The vox was appealing because it was cheaper and I could use the $ for sure. But, I don't know man... the vox sounded more shrilly, more in the 3-4K range of "KKKKkkkkkkkkkkffhhhhhhhhh" The vox was nice, don't get me wrong. But the moment the orange started to feedback it was obvious to my ears. The orange is pretty basic, just a few knobs. But small adjustments brought about distinct tonal changes. The vox had lots of switches and what not but to me, all the knobs were didn't make me want the amp. Maybe you like lots of knobs and things to fiddle with. The orange was simple and to me I like things a bit straight forward. I checked the clean and the clean sound, again my ears told me the orange had it. If the amp can get a good tone then why do you need all the switches and zibber zabs. The vox sounded good but, I thought it sounded a little thin a bit shallow compared to the orange. It is interesting because the orange and the vox have the same tubes. It must be the input and output transformer and not having all the switches and knobs. They weight about the same and are about the same size. The orange to my eyes, was cooler looking and so in conclusion the orange overall to me was worth the extra $75.

impressive

By Tom

from san diego, CA

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Tiny Terror Series TT15 15W Tube Mini Amp Head:

i didnt think that a tiny little 4lb amp head could be this terrifying! the tonal range you can achieve with only 3 controls is rather impressive. i prefer it to the egnater rebel 20. but im glad i got the rebel 30 instead of the tiny terror because it has 2 channels, better clean, tube mix, reverb, and more tonal range. however it does not have more gain. the tiny terror has tremendous gain. no pedals needed to help this beast. its also really convienient because its so small and light. lighter and easier to carry around in its bag as comparred to the egnater. if you dont think you need 2 channels than i suggest this because it has a lot of range for its size and controls. but if u like 2 channels then go with the 2 channel version of this amp, the dual terror, or get the rebel 30 as im very happy with mine; they are a bit higher priced though. most oranges are very expensive. with this amp you can get the awesome orange sound for a great price. get it if your gunna take it places cause its very light.

Tiny but Huge

By Butch

from St. johns AZ

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Tiny Terror Series TT15 15W Tube Mini Amp Head:

I bought this amp because it was small. I have a old fender speaker made in the early 60's I thought it might sound ok through. It was great so much tone it seemed unreal. I have also played it through my Marshall half stack speaker cab. It was also awsome there. I do use a few pedals through it for some different feels. But no matter if you are playing a small club or outside this little guy pulls it off. I get great blues tones or clean through it. I have been asked to sell it more times than I can count. I always tell them to buy thier own. Have seven amps and this is my favorite.
