But it's not just cool looks”plug into the Orange Crush PiX CR35LDX amp, or any of these great little Orange guitar amps and you'll soon realize they are Orange through and through.

I was in the market for a practice/rehearsal amp with onboard effects, and since Orange markets this as "the perfect practice amp", I wanted to give it a shot. After playing it for a couple months, I have to agree. It IS the perfect practice amp! The look of this amp is 100% Orange with the orange tolex, tan basket weave grill cloth, picture frame edging, black knobs, and white control panel with hieroglyphs. It is very solid in its design and construction. The carry strap is tough and should never break. The knobs are easy to turn and see what setting they are on. Basically, I feel like I will never have to replace or repair the Crush because something gave way or broke. 5 stars here. Lots of amps look cool, but how does it sound? How easy is it to use? Well, the Crush PiX does both extremely well. The controls are straight forward and easy to dial in. There is a master volume, gain, and switchable overdrive. The gain is basically the pre-amp level control, and the overdrive controls level of distortion. The Crush PiX has bass, mid, and treble controls that are very responsive and really let someone dial in the sound they are looking for. The cleans sound nice and crisp without being harsh. Push the button, turn up the overdrive, and the Crush really starts to sing! It has an excellent crunchy distortion that is very classic rock and vintage sounding. The 10" speaker really allows the sound to be nice and musical without feeling boxy or muffled. Very nice distorted tones can be made at low volume levels as well when a quieter overall volume is needed. The Crush sounds excellent through all the range of tones and constantly surprises me at how good it sounds. If a super-heavy death metal tone is what you are after, you will have to use a pedal to get there. This is the only solid-state amp that I have ever used or seen that actually plays nice with pedals. The overdrive channel can also be switched on and off by an Orange foot switch, which is a nice feature to jump from clean to dirty while playing. The Crush sounds great just going straight through the clean and distortion channels, but the 16 built in effects are top notch as well and add very nice effects to the tone without sounding thin or fake. It has 4 reverbs, 4 delays, 2 chorus, 2 flanger, 2 tremolo, vibrato, and hall reverb + delay. Each effect is selected using a knob that has a nice notch when turning. The effects level of intensity if controlled with a knob as well. The effects are not adjustable, but it seems like Orange picked the sweet spot of each effect, so that really didn't bother me at all. The only effects The Crush doesn't have that could be missed is a phaser and auto wah. The built in tuner is accessed by a push button the the control panel. It is spot on when tuning up and is a very nice touch to an already great amp. Another nice touch is the 3.5mm line in. Just plug in the Ipod and play along, or use it as an external speaker. In fact, I use it a decent amount to play music from the Ipod out on the back deck when I'm outside. There is also a line out for headphones for completely silent practice, and it also has a separate line out to plug into a house PA, computer, or extension cabinet. It really seems like they thought of everything. As you can see, the Orange takes the cake. They thought of everything someone would want in a practice/jam amp and put it in. With its rock solid construction, great vintage design and looks, beautiful cleans, crunchy distortion, very usable and good sounding effects, tuner, foot switching, line in and out, and awesome tone, Orange really has given us the "perfect practice amp"! Make sure this amp is on your short list when amp shopping. You will not regret it!

I bought this item based off the reviews. From mostly everywhere I looked it got 5 stars, everyone loved it and it was just a "must have". DON'T BE DECEIVED LIKE I WAS! The distortion on this amp is absolutely terrible! It sounds like a low quality fender amp and it has a horrible hum and screech that just will not stop unless you lower your settings and of course once you do that it sounds like a clean drive. If you play nothing but hardcore music like I do, STAY AWAY! I will say it is very loud for its size and its clean drive is fairly good and the onboard tuner is really good from all the others I have seen, but I just cannot stand its tone. I have played on many amps that just destroy this one. Maybe I am being a little extreme, but do yourself a favor and play on one before you even think about purchasing it.

Great Practice amp with some ballz

By Kyle77

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

Owned this amp for about 3 months now. Was surprised when I plugged it in at home at the quality of sound and volume level. Bought it for the specific use of having a microphone in front of it for small audiences. I have to say though that even standing alone with no mic it cuts through the rest of my band with ease in small venues. It has a very clear tone on clean but as mentioned with this amp, it does have some background hum when you crank the gain. A noise gate is recommended. I use a pedal board but recently have been playing with the built in effects and they really arenۡt that bad. With a foot switch (sold separately) going from clean to dirty channel is a breeze. The built in tuner works well enough for any beginner to keep in perfect tune. For someone whoۡs wanting a practice amp or small venue amp thatۡs reliable and lightweight, I highly recommend this one. Iۡve compared it to peavey amps and line 6 amps of the same size and this one blows them all out on quality, power, and even looks. I have even been substituting this amp at times (when a mic is used) for my peavey vyper amp and have been nothing but happy with it. Only possible down side is that you don't have any amp models built in (but personally I see that as a plus) I don't like the built in mods on most amps of the same size due to sound quality.

Pretty Good

By NFGisboss

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a really cool amp. I had a line 6 spider amp that most people start out with then I upgraded to this. I have it in black and it looks just as good. Has really cool cleans and the overdrive swith and gain knob provide really cool original punk tones and rock tones. Its however not good for metal unless you have a good distortion pedal in front. I'd also reccomend a noise gate because when you crank the gain it can squeal some. Great practice or very small venue amp for punk rock or pop punk. It does rock, alternative and indie well too. But when mine arrived the speakers were disconnected? But we fixed that problem in five minutes so its good.

Solid Amp!

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

Great practice to small gig amp. Surprisingly, very light and powerful. The price cannot be beat. Decent stock effects but for the sound I need I added some effects. With clean settings the amp absolutely sizzles. With the DS-1 and Wah pedals I have finally found the sound I have been searching for years in a smaller amp. Enjoy....totally recommend this amp. Setup: Les Paul Custom Black Beauty 3 - Dunlop Crybaby Wah - BOSS DS-1

Was so happy I bought another one

By Kyle

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

For one of my bands this is the perfect amp for us. I actually bought another one I liked my first one so well. I bought one for our other guitarist because they are so reliable. Packed small, light weight, and very powerful compared to other amps the same size. I've played on many amps but this one has a great tone, good effects, and a built in tuner for those needing an all-in-one amp at a great price. ALSO PERFECT FOR STARTING MUSICIANS!!!! This amp does not have built in amp models (meaning it doesn't have pre-set amp tones like many amps now) This is a good thing for anyone who likes to set their own sounds and not use what the "factory" thinks is best for you. You control all the action and it's made very very easy even for beginners that have never even turned an amp on.

Better Than I Hoped For

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

Just got this thing in the mail today and I was not in any way disappointed. First impression- this thing is a beast. Nice overall appearance, just a substantial piece of equipment. I live overseas, and don't have the luxury of actually trying all of these products out before I buy them. So all I had to go off of were the dimensions and descriptions that I found on the internet. When I took it out of the box, I was very much pleased. The real treat is in the sound this little guy puts out. WOW! Not only is it loud, but the tone never waivers at any of the volume settings. Crystal clear all the way around. The overdrive adds a really nice gritty punch, and the effects are of really good quality. If you are in the market for a practice amp, this is the "perfect practice amp". You will not be disappointed.

Amazing Amp

By Tyler

from Rockfall, CT

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

It has amazing sound quality for its size, which I was able to find out as soon as i could find a cable from my old amp. I use it for a Gretsch Electromatic series guitar, and it works very well (with all 16 channels) My friend also used it on his Charvel, to test, and he liked it just as much. It's a highly reccomended, great deal (If you want a good priced amp, with good effects and sound quality, which I would hope you would want) I also reccomend you get the orange one, not black, just because when I play at my school club, everyone has peaveys and stuff, so mine stands out.

Orange Amps are killer!!!

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

Bought this amp to replace my Line 6 about 6 months ago as soon as it came out and I am in love with it. The tone and sound is spectacular. I play through it a Danelectro and sounds amazing, crisp and clear. I bought it for practice use and for small gigs. I totally reccomend for log term player and the just startin out player lookin to upgrade from the cheap squier mini amp. I play alot of classic rock and blues and like to invent my own stuff and this is perfect. Always been a huge fan of orange amps and this is by far superior to any amp on the market for this price.

Rehearsal amp with a catch!

By Tanner Eustice

from Medford, Oregon

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp produces some of the most well rounded tones I have ever heard coming from a non-tube amp. It practically sounds tube. One thing that no one has really touched on is the fact that in a standard solid state amp, cranking up the volume gives you a nasty gargled electrical sound. When you crank this up at max volume, it doesn't overload and gets a credible natural sounding tube tone! It pushes well over drums and competes at a relatively good level to my bassists wall shaking full stack. A great investment for a light portable amp with some kick!

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

want a easy to use amp that can create Zeppelin like tones, but can still play clean smooth blues? look no farther! this amp is amazing. having a volume, a overdrive, and a gain nob allows you to find blend and find what ever you are in the mood for.it also has the ability to go from a rich crunch to a crisp clean in one simple click of a button, on the amp (or foot switch) . plus having 16 classic effects in you arsenal is always sweet. this amp is great for practicing, small gigs , and jam session. it has plenty of power for its class. its not a tube but its still worth every penny!

Hear's a cool-looking amp from Orange that's perfect for practice and rechearsala!. The CR35LDX is part of Orange's Crush PiX lineup!. With 35 watts pushing a single 10" speaker, the CR35LDX is capable of putting out a ton of indisputably Orange tone!. A 3-band EQ lets you tune your CR35LDX just the way you like it, and you can switch between chiming clear tone and creamy overdrive with either the push of a button or the press of a footswitch!. The CR35LDX also gives you 16 excellent studio reverb and delay effects, plus a tuner!.

Great little amp!

By Charles Burleigh

from Wichita, Kansas

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I had a band back in the 60's and have not picked up a guitar in years. I bought an Epiphone Les Paul and the Orange Crush amp, just to plink around on, at the house. This is a great little amp. It has a lot of punch and a great variety of sounds, especially when teamed up with the Les Paul. I highly recommend this amp for home use as well as on gigs, in a smaller venue. It's a very good value for the money.

Great practice amp

By Tyler Royer

from Frederick, MD

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I got this amp about a month ago, and I am completely satisfied with it. The eq is very responsive and it can get very loud. The dirty channel is great, I keep the overdrive at about 3 o'clock and get a great overdrive crunch. I play it with a schecter pt with a duncan jb model in the bridge, the pickup is hot so when playing dirty I roll the gain knob to 9 o'clock with overdrive at 3 o'clock to keep a good tone. The clean channel is also very great, with coil split on my pt I get tele like cleans from the amp, add a hint of delay from one of the many effects and it sounds great, I got an orange footswitch to go with it. Very happy!

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

Got this amp about a week ago and it is amazing. I bought it to step up from my first amp (20w Fender Mustang) and this is 100x better. Its nice not having the modeling settings, gives me more freedom to play with my sound it feels like. The clean channel on this sounds amazing, especially when dialed in for a classic rock type tone. It also sounds HUGE. Its louder set on 1-2 than my Fender was on 5-6, and can easily keep up with the band I play in, drummer included. The orange also looks really sharp and stands out. The only drawback I've seen is that the dirty channel seems a little weak, but you can avoid using it completely by using a pedal. I run a Boss OD1 through it and it rocks.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

THIS AMP IS AMAZING. It has so many different effects on it so you can play almost any style of music with no pedals. only negative is for the Hardcore medal players out there the distortion is weak... deffinately get a pedal. but otherwise this amp is a one amp army shall i dare to say.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I purchased an Orange CR120H to gig with a while back and am very happy with it. My little tube practice amp was lacking something that I was finding in my Orange so I went with this amp. Not disappointed at all. Great tone, lite to carry, loud enough for rehearsals. I also use this amp for a quick set up to play at my 1000+ seat church on Sundays, I send a line out to the house board and use the amp as my monitor. It does everything I need it to do.

By LUTHOR

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I've been looking for a combo amp with specific tone qualities and my Orange amp provides all I need. I play coffee shops and restaurants and this is amp is perfect. Going on 60 and playing since I was a teenager, my taste in music has changed over the years. I want a "signature tone" now. I'm more into the smooth jazz sound . My Orange amp provides enough effects for the tone I'm looking for and I can limit my pedal use. Small enough to carry to a jam sesh with the ability to plug into a cab or pa. Plenty of head room for small gigs. Highly recommended.
