The Orange Signature #4 Jim Root Terror Head is modeled after the Dirty Channel on the same amp that Jim Root plays in the studio and on the road, the Orange Rockerverb 100. This all-tube, 15W amp is capable of far more than high gain rock and metal though. With a full 3-band EQ players will find it easy to dial in everything from vintage rock to blues and beyond. The addition of a tube-driven FX loop allows the user to take the tone in any direction they want.

  • Good, but not as good as I expected

As reviewed by James Hare on 8/28/2013

This amp is surprisingly versatile, but more of the "Jack of all trades, master of none" kind of versatile. The gain is a little fizzy, grainy and unpleasant. Overall its a fun little amp to play, and has a very colorful clean tone, albeit only at quiet volumes due to the lack of channel switching. Also worth mentioning, this amp's gain is miles above the dark terror, which is miles above the tiny terror, but it's still just not a good metal amp, like the Jim Root endorsement would suggest.
