  I have played on many different amps over the last 5 years as I have gotten better myself, and I had never played on anything like the dual terror. This amp beats everything that I have tried and then some. The tonal range that is achieved through such simplistic controls is amazing. No one at my local GC had ever had the chance to play on one so when my order came in I took it in a couple of days and let them play around with it and everyone agrees that it is one of the best amps on the market. One thing that has really surprised me is the fact that there is no FX loop on it, but you can take a time based effects pedal like the boss DD-3 and plug in straight into the input and the signal does not get muddy and garbled. I've had this amp for about 2 months now and I'm still discovering new tones. Paired with the Orange PPC212 and this is a complete beast. I will never get rid of this amp as long as I live. It is just that good. So the long and the short of it sparkling cleans, great bluesy crunch, and mega distortion all with the turn of 3 dials. If you play a lot of the classics like I do then the vintage feel is for you. Even if you play something a little bit more modern still give this some consideration, I don't think that you will regret it.

• Best Tube Amp Money Can Buy!

  Very Versatile Amp! I use it for recording, practice and gigging. The reason it excels in all categories is because you have the option of using 2 or 4 tubes, a tiny or fat channel, and half or full. I play out of a Marshall 4x12 loaded with Celestions and the sound is ALWAYS perfect. I play mostly metal and blues plus everything in between and I always get the right sound. I prefer this amp over others such as Mesa and Vox because not only does it have alot of tube power, it has the best control of those tubes so you can get really big full sounds even when your cranked down real low (to avoid upsetting the neighbors) The only thing I would add to it is a dirty channel, but I just use pedals for extra gain and distortion so no big.

  I own a 64 Blonde bandmaster, a 75 twin silverface, a 73 ampeg V4B, & a modern Marshall DSL 50. But this little head is the joint. Incredible gain tone.And a very nice driven clean tone Finally my stratocaster sounds like it should & a Telecaster comes thru nice. Gibsons really shine on these amps.Face it we all want our clean amps to break up & our distorted amps to sing & not fizzle out. This is what orange has accomplished. And it plays nice with effects, you just cant use a delay unless you go clean on this amp. there is no effects loop so the distortion channel will not respond to delays well. I use the fat channel for cleaner playing & the Tiny channel for extra hot leads & distortion. You don't need to dime the gain unless playing very low.The stock tubes ain't the best but you can swap these out yourself as this amp needs no bias adjustment.My Vox Saturator sounded like shit until I picked up a dual terror & now it really sings with these El84's......this amp will benefit using either a guitar EQ or Bass Guitar EQ to fatten up the bottom end. It only has one tone knob but an EQ helps the clean sound fatter & warmer. Also plan on using at least 2X12's........it sounds incredible thru my 1960a marshall cabinet(4x12) but I mainly use a 1966a with 2 celestion G12T-75 .......very happy with this little box.the price is a bit steep but the sound is excellent & easy to carry around with a small cabinet.
