Comments about Shure SE535 Sound Isolating Earphones:

I am a longtime musician and I purchased these to use with my drum mics. The dynamics they deliver are incredible. I was using a $50 set of bass earphones which I thought were fine at the time, but these deliver so much more. Some highs on my set were hardly being delivered to me so when I stepped up and tried these out, the ranges between high and low came through beautifully. These are expensive so if you just use them to casually listen to music, I couldn't justify the expense. Like me, if you play/perform music then there is no doubt that you will be happy here. I have never owned another set of high end IEMs so I cannot compare these to another more affordable option. The bass response is very good. I would describe it as rich and for a bass head (if that's all that matters to you) it may not be the product. However it does deliver rich bass, bright highs, and great mids. I have four other instruments, four vocal mics, plus my drum kit coming through and I can easily pick out everything. Bottom line, they are amazing when you need an IEM to be. If you don't need to hear such clarity, you could probably get by with something else.

      Excellent!!

      By Wes Jones

Comments about Shure SE535 Sound Isolating Earphones:

I'm a drummer. I got these cause I was tired of a stage monitor blaring in my ear and me being deaf by the end of the show. I just couldn't hear what I needed to hear. Once I found the right earpiece that fit I was amazed with the sound quality. I have been using the Vic Firth isolation headphones which work great but the sound is not very good. You're still reliant on the sound guy to give you a good mix but these have helped my playing a lot. Expensive yes but well worth it.

Treat your ears well, get the best...the first time.

      By David Lucht

      from Camarillo CA

Comments about Shure SE535 Sound Isolating Earphones:

This is my first pair of quality in-ears. I've used over-the-ear headphones for live personal monitoring for years until now. There's plenty of accessories, and they're built to last. These have great sound isolating abilities without needing custom molds. There is also no sound bleeding out. My wife used them at high volume and I couldn't hear a thing even with my ear against hers. In other words, they're also good for studio work. So if you're in the market for accurate sounding in-ears for mp3 listening, live monitoring, and studio monitoring... get'm. Want the absolute greatest sound experience? Get custom molded in-ears. But if you don't have a couple grand to spend but still want top quality, get the SE535's.

      Best for drummer and bassist

      By Mark

      from Bakersfield, CA

Comments about Shure SE535 Sound Isolating Earphones:

These phones are the best for the money. But realistically, the E425's should be sufficient for everybody but the bass and drums. The 535's give the best bass. I do not notice more boom or punch with them, but the general sound is better. These phones really flatline everything. You don't have a lot of highs or lows, just a perfect blend of all the sounds. I actually don't like the way the cables can spin on the headphone, it makes it difficult for me to distinguish left from right when grabbing them quickly. The wire form fit is great, though. The phones fit well but I must say the plastic casing that houses the drivers does hurt my ears a little over time. I think if I get custom molds that will cause the drivers to stick out a little more and then they won't hit against my ear. For now, shoving the foamies into my ear canal brings the casing flush against the inside of my outer ear. Definitely glad I got them.

      Superb!

      By Reigh Tuazon

      from Fountain Hills, AZ

Comments about Shure SE535 Sound Isolating Earphones:

Iۡm a lead vocalist and a sound engineer. To me, these are two best benefits in owning these IEMs. Clarity: I prefer to have my vocal monitor on a premix to be able to hear the raw details of my projection and know that Iۡm doing it properly. This dual driver is one of the best Iۡve owned. The clarity is superb. I do use it with my iPod occasionally. The sound is satisfying as I hear details of the track that is usually buried by the other dominant sounds if youۡre hearing them through a PA. If youۡre a bass head, get the SE535 or a different set altogether. The bass drops off on these much sooner than the competitors and it is made that way purposely. Isolation: I usually place a mic on a different channel if I want to hear ambient/stage noise but that is rare since the guys behind me are half deaf and gets really loud by the last set. With that said, this unit has great isolation. You can block off 75% of the ambient sound if you insert the buds properly. I have small ear canals and use the smallest rubber inserts. I have had to insert one side only halfway just to get a good feel of what is happening on stage and to be able to blend harmonies better with the other vocalists. In conclusion, if raw clarity is what youۡre looking for or if you want to hear the raw details of your voice, I recommend this dual driver. It is one of the best Iۡve owned.

Best of the best for their purpose

      By Auxknob1

      from Atlanta GA

Comments about Shure SE535 Sound Isolating Earphones:

Looking for a pair of ears for your mp3 player or computer? Let me suggest a set of Beats first. For the price these might leave anyone looking for the best ears for playback a little disappointed. I've used these for 1) when I'm on drums and 2) when I mix monitors and the band has ears. The sound detail is outstanding, nice and flat with plenty of dynamic potential. The low end is as it should be, clean, tight, and not over emphasized (thanks to triple drivers), The mid and highs are very precise, which enables nice instrument separation even on mono mixes. The 535's allow for less overall volume level which saves my own hearing but they reproduce the dynamics of my mix, with all the intensity but without the spl. That's the feature you pay for. Comfort is a 8.5-10, I'm still working on the right fit. The replaceable cable, very novel concept. No more shipping my gear off for repairs. $499 is steep but WELL worth it if you want the best without getting formed ears at twice the price. The wire over the ear does not hold form as much as I'd like but they won't fall out when properly fitted. This is not the first Shure IEM I've owned but by the quality here it might be the last.
