The QSC KSub Powered Subwoofer is the ideal supplement to QSC K Series 2-way speakers for live reinforcement of bass instruments and drums, or higher-level playback of recorded music. Its 1000W Class-D power module never fails to deliver. The KSub subwoofer's M20 threaded pole socket (pole included) provides a secure, wobble-free method of elevating a mid-high speaker over the subwoofer. The KSub subwoofer's compact footprint won't take over the stage, dance floor, or seating area of smaller venues. A pair of high-power 12" speakers in an optimized band-pass enclosure will handle everything the 1,000-watt power module can give them. Compact in size, the QSC KSub has ergonomically designed handles and 3" noise-free casters ease load-in and load-out.

1000 Watts is really loud. The bass from the KSUB sounds smooth and clear, with deep solid chest thumping hits. The dual 12" speakers inside really are amazing in how QSC managed to produce the powerful bass this sub gives. I bought this KSUB new from my local GC and in the pictures the casters are silver, but the cab i bought had BLK casters and they didn't rattle either when i tested the sub. I went straight home and set it up and was amazed. 18 inch subs produce a low frequency of 30 Hz, and this sub produces as low as 44 Hz. But 12's are punchier than 18's. The payoff for me in this sub is the full sounding bass of the KSUB and that it's light enough for me to lift and load alone. If you get an 18 in favor of a deeper 30 Hz bass, you'll definitely sacrifice the lightness and need a second person to help you lift it. PROS: It's very light (72 lbs.), it's compact, it sounds great, looks very professional, quality craftsmanship. I'm 100% satisfied. CONS: seriously no downside to this sub.

I bought one of these subs along with two k12's from my local guitar center. My overal first impressions of this sub was that it sounded good but didn't really have the output or the bottom end that I was expecting. So I bought another. 2 ksubs with the k12's mounted on top sounded great. I have used these for both DJ gigs and running sound for my Dad's band. After having these for about 6 months I finally decided that I wanted more and sold both of them and bought a KW181. Big difference. I can't wait to get another. The ksub's just simply don't have that impact that I was looking for. If your looking for chest thumping bass and you like QSC buy a KW181.

The real deal.

Comments about QSC KSub Powered Subwoofer:

This is what I expect to be the final PA purchase (other than a 2nd K-Sub) for my band. (7 Piece R&B, Blues. I was origionally looking for 2 passive Mains and Subs but considering I did not need power amps and the light weight and the awesome clean punchy sound thsi was the way to go. I will use our PA amp (Yamaha 512) to power the floor monitors.

Chest thumping bass

By Good Time Entertainment

from Middletown CT.

Comments about QSC KSub Powered Subwoofer:

Great sounding Bass, very crisp, clean and loud. I am a mobile DJ so size and weight is a big factor for me and this sub fit the bill. Before I bought this I was running the B52 Matrix 1000, so I'll compare it to that. The Matrix with a 15" 400 watt sub puts out deeper bass which is great for hip hop but it distorts when turned up loud plus the Matrix weighs 120lbs. The QSC gets much louder and still sounds great, like I said crisp, clean, chest thumping and the QSC is much easier to handle at 72lbs. and about half the size. Overall I am very happy with this sub...QSC says they're passionate about sound and from what I hear they mean it.

Super Portable "one tone" Bass

By FOHtonefreak

from Chicago, IL

Comments about QSC KSub Powered Subwoofer:

If you are interested in portability alone, these are an excellent choice. If you care about sound quality AT ALL, please go demo these. I played a variety of music (I'm an experience FOH tech) and couldn't hear more than just some rumble. I did not hear the bass NOTES. The in store sales people agreed that they did not sound musical at all at ANY volume. Use your ears and stay clear. If you need recommendations, ask or check a pro audio forum.

Clean portable bass for almost all applications!

By Cris

from Algonquin, Il

Comments about QSC KSub Powered Subwoofer:

i have 2 Ksubs and these things rock! I have found that subwoofer placement is the key to getting big bass out of these things. I rarely use both, I just did a party for 180 people and 1 Ksub had enough to knock off some liquor bottles from the bar shelf! I find having the subs facing a wall or even better a corner really amplifies the output. And since they are super portable and low key, it helps them keep out of sight. I can have the sub 10 to 20 ft away from me and the whole room gets filled with loud clean bass! When using the pair, i couple them together side by side and the output is amazing. They work well for dance and hip hop music, which is what I mostly play. Only a few songs with the lowest of frequency I notice the limitations of a 12" woofer. But really that's only about 5% of the music out there. I feel the pair of Ksubs is louder than my previous PRX718 sub but just don't go as low. The build quality is excellent so no worries there. You' ll pay a pretty penny for them, but for me portabilty and flexability were key. When I had 1 PRX sub, sometimes it was too much to bring for parties with 100 people or so, now I have option to bring 1 sub, and with the pair 350-400 people is no problem.

Ksub is a winner

By Shawn Beckner

from Charleston, SC

Comments about QSC KSub Powered Subwoofer:

To those of you dissuaded by a couple of the negative reviews...please ignore them. I have a pair of K12's on top of two Ksubs...will soon be getting two K10's to use as floor wedges. We are a four piece wedding/corporate event band....and this set-up helped get us bigger money, many more referrals and better gigs in general. In fact, since purchasing all of this QSC gear we've also landed a booking agent and have already paid everything off plus some...only a couple months later. I'm not joking...I was surprised at the difference it made all around. It's an investment you only have to make once (6 year warranty!) Seriously professional quality sound...like a hi-fi home audio system only ON STAGE!!! I would rather bring my system to almost any venue than use the house system. The bass thumps (I'm also the bassist) and the kick drum kicks. When we play bumper music before or between sets it's funky and clear. Truthfully, it's a very balanced little system...and tear down and transportation is a snap. We get compliments about our sound, and it's just so clear that even at higher volume nobody is running for the doors...hard to explain, but it's a pleasant effect...the sound from this rig is just so clear. If you are a DJ playing blast beats down in the -35hz range, then maybe you should look into carrying around 4 18inch subs and a couple tops...but that's not our gig. We're a funky dance band and this system seems to have been specifically designed for our use.

QSC KSUB

By Ken F.

from Brnachburg, NJ

Comments about QSC KSub Powered Subwoofer:

I recently upgraded to all new QSC K series, from Behringer B215A (yes a huge upgrade). Everything about QSC is better. You get what you pay for in the speaker market. Everything now is super clear, and bass from the K12 is surprisingly good (down to 47-48hz). If you need lower bass, you can get one or two of the Ksubs. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the lack of SUB-Bass. This cabinet only gets down to 44 Hz, which does not really cut it for high output bass dance, club and, hip-hop music. If you want warm punchy bass, this is fine, but for larger venues, you will need the 18" tranducer. I am deciding between the JBL EON 518, PRX 618S, 618SXLF, and the QSC KW 118. All of those produce frequencies lower than 44 Hz, which provide sub-bass I need. Now, this thing is SUPER PORTABLE, and sounds fantastic, but does not go low enough for me. A great unit, but I just prefer larger sized tranducers as opposed to the dual 12" transducers, especially for subwoofers. QSC is seriously stepping up in the audio world.
