You'll love it !!!

By Bacco The Bassman

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

When I hook this up to my markbass 12" combo hold on to your hat!!! this thing moves some air. If you like a tight punchy bass sound that can give a deep bottom, clarity and versatility w/the built in tweeter then this is the one. Easy to move and big on sound. What more do you want ? and the price can't be beat for what you get. 6 stars for markbass. The ONLY bass amplification you'll ever need.

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I've had a MarkBass 121P for a while now and thought I could enhance it a bit more with this 102P cab. I was a wee bit off, it enhanced my rig a great deal. It's quiet until I hit a note, then BOOM! The 121P is rated at 300W until an external cab is plugged in. Then it opens up to 500W. I have a bass tuned C#-F#-B-E-A-D. Those low strings come through clearly through this setup. That alone makes the combo and cab worth their weight in platinum. Getting this cab was a great choice for me. Someone said he had some hiss from the tweeter. Mine does not. I get no sound I don't want, but when I want sound, I can get it in great abundance. One other thing, at 33 pounds, it's a relative featherweight that delivers tons of good, rich, clear sound. I highly recommend this speaker for those who want the power without the weight that usually goes with it.

    Back saving, butt kicking cab!

    By Bill Monroe

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I upgraded my whole rig to Markbass: little mark 800 tube amp, 151hr cab and this little baby. Can't tell you how much I love them. The tone, power and weight. I can carry the each cab on ehanded and for smaller gigs i slip the amp in it's bag grab the 102p and go. Nobody can believe the sound to size ratio. THis stuff aint cheap but so far it's totally worh it!

    Traveler 102p great cab

    By Eugene Ross

    from Gettysburg Pa

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I have had this cabinet for almost a year now. First of all it is light in weight. 33 lbs I can cary it with one hand. That said it is hard to believe that something so small and light can put out the volume and tone this thing is capable of. Played in a 600 seat theatre last Friday night. Doing easy Christian contemperary. Used the 102p with a Mesa Boogie walkabout head. This thing sounds huge, fat and clear. Love this cab.

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I want a second one to stack vertically. This is part of my first rig. The piezo tweeter has a hiss but if you turn the attenuator down it goes away. (I would not advise turning it all the way down). I might actually remove the tweeter from this cabinet when the warranty expires but right now it's not bothering me in the slightest. I run a MoMark 500 Black through this cabinet, paired with a standard 151HR. I have run a Little Mark Tube (500w) for a week or two, and a MoMark 800 Black as well. All these amps sounded wonderful through this cabinet. For a time I left my 151 at my practice space and carried this cabinet home with my amp head (in a laptop case over my shoulder.) I also had a musician's gear bag on my back loaded with cables, pedals, and recording equipment. My bass in one hand and this cabinet in another. It's not the lightest thing in the world but, I have a shoulder disability and I don't mind carrying it with one hand. This cab with 300w would be fine for a gig in a small venue and a drummer with good dynamic control. Especially if you can DI into the house system. It sounds great paired with my 151HR. My bandmates love my tone. I can't compare it with much else.. it's part of my first bass rig.. I just feel like I made a decent first choice.

    Rattle Your Wall - Amazing

    By Michael

    from Arizona, Lake Havasu Cite

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

With clear lows, sweet highs, this bass cab is perfect for people who need a rattle and yet want something affordable and easy to carry around. This is a perfect amp for people who perform frequently, or just enjoy playing from time to time. This will rattle your walls at a low level, which is very impressive. I would say this is the best of the best in the price range.

The small venue cabinet with power but not over powering!

    By drewett washington

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I've owned the little mark III bass head for over a year and have used it with my Carvin 2x10 and genz benz 2x12 neo. The sound is great, but as an older musician 54 i needed to lighten the load. my carvin cab has the older speakers (heavy) so i looked into buying some neo's for it. In my search i found that the 2 speakers would cost me at least $275.00 on average. On a visit to guitar center, i found the traveler cab, used! For $340.00 Hummm! So I went back the next day with my bass and tried it out, the sound was great, and so I brought it. The handle position makes it easier to carry than my carvin and lighter, so now with my little mark III in a laptop bag and my fender areodyne jazz bass in a gig bag strapped to my back, I can carry all three pieces in for a gig or practice! Did i say i'm 54, then on top of all that the sound is big! Bigger lows than it should be able to produced and tight mids, the highs do not sizzle but give the cabinet a nicely balanced sound. I played with a group that does rockabilly style music at a small restaurant and bar, after the gig the guitar player that also plays bass in another group told me he was very jealous of the sound my rig produced! The rear porting worked great, because I could now face my cab forward for the mid's and high's to project out, my carvin's front porting forced me to face the cabinet towards the wall because the low's develop 15 or 20 feet in front of the cabinet, and the area was to small for that! But facing the cab towards the wall caused my sound to be unfocused and rumbly, and my genz's had an over powering growl for that particular venue! the markbass combination is most excellent, giving my bass that powerful sound with out being over powering, even the direct out sound from the mark III head is gorgeous. If you are looking for a rig thats light weight and powerful with a small venue sound thats hard to beat markbass has it!

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

As my band started to grow i was looking to add on to my stack. AT the time Markbass was just getting introduced. I plugged into it and i could'nt believe that it could produce that much sound, it was punchy and had the in your face tone I needed. Its light, small, and well made for the money you can't go wrong with this cab! Right now I have it paired up with my custom cab with a 15" 90's era Pyle sub, and As a head im using a 80's yamaha processor, and of couse this cab. I could'nt ask for a better tone im hooked on Markbass!

good gear for such a small package

    By shawn mcgee

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I was using a 2x10 combo ampeg for the past 7 years in a weekend touring band around Texas and it was starting to fall apart. I am so glad i got this thing. it is so light. i also got a Markbass little mark tube head (500W) and they work great together. i put the head in a gator 6U shallow rack with a Furman power conditioner and a Korg DT1000 tuner and my Shure wireless. that old combo probably weighed 80 - 100 pounds. this cab is only 33 lb and my rack totals up to like 35 lb. so much easier to tote around with one in each hand.

    Amazing cab

    By Jason Pimlott

    from Iowa

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

This is definitely my work horse. Use it at every practice and almost all gigs. Very light weight and amazing sound out of only 2 - 10s. This and sometimes a 15" cab is all I use at mid to smaller size bars (covers a majority of the bars out there). Bought this because 4-10s were way more than I needed, so why carry around the extra weight.

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I've been playing through the 2 10 combo with a 1 15 cab for several years, and decided to switch it up and go with the separate head cab configuration. The cab sounds AWESOME alone or in the stack and is a breeze to move. Much smaller and lighter than the combo. I love Markbass, I played a full mesa boogie 400+ tube rig for decades and Markbass was the only lightweight alternative I could find when I wanted to downsize.

    By Eduardo Vasquez

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I traded a 15" cab for this portable and powerful cab. You would not believe the clarity, the volume, and the punch you get from such light cabinet. MARKBASS is making incredible equipment for us, bass players to find our sound and express ourselves. Quality is superb! Very light, portable, but at the same time powerful. A must buy!

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

Playing bass is a hobby. Never had visions of stardom.
I'm 76 years old and have been part of several cover/bar bands starting when I was twenty-something. Have owned several basses and combo/separate head/cab configurations to play with.
Have been in several hi-end studios.
I used to believe 'the bigger, the better' but old dogs can learn new tricks.
As I've aged, smaller and lighter are important.
At times I'm able to bring just my axe and a SansAmp bass driver and go direct into the PA board.
      EZ and lite.
Most times though I need to load gear in and out (along with helping the drummer shlep all that stuff they find important ..lol)
I have most recently been driving a BagEnd single 15 with 350W and was somewhat pleased with this.

But then...my 49 yr old son is a pro (Eels, Lucinda Williams, Jayhawks) and has a local band for when he's not on the road. I entered into a local tavern they were playing and instantly felt, before seeing the gear onstage, that there was something different with the bass voice sitting in the mix.
Shouldering my way through the standing room only to get to the stage to say howdy to my son & I checked out the bass gear.
Hmm. A tiny little 2-10 cab with yellow speakers.
Awesome authoritative tone, with a big round bottom.
      Me want!
Traded some gear and cash at GC, ordered a 4 ohm version and picked it up 4 days later.
      Now I have!
Used it last night in my 'seniors-only' hobby covers band.
A little compression and a 'fuzz' box around the edges of the voice of the strings.
I see no reason to have anything else.

      Um, well maybe a smaller/lighter amp :0)
      One trip load in!
      YES!

      One happy camper.

Comments about Markbass Traveler 102P Rear-Ported Compact 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I had read up several articles about tone and decided a good 1x12 paired with a 2x10 was the way to go. I have been using an Emmenence Deltalite 1x12 I put in a cab I had ordered from 400 Live (30lbs) with my MarkBass 800 Tube and I have been happy with the lows but wanted more mid and punch. Look out now, I have found the articles to be right on as I can play medium venues with no house support with confidence. I have enough sound for outdoor venues as well and everybody loves it. Highly recommend MarkBass, by the way, I use a Music Man StingRay Classic 4H and have not tried any 5 or 6 strings with this rig. I guess a good 1x15 do it for sure.
