Overview

This Godin A4 SA fretless bass features endless sonic possibilities brought to you by Custom Godin electronics. It comes equipped with individual saddle transducers at the bridge and a 13-pin connector for direct control of Roland GR Series and Axon AX100 guitar synths.

The Godin bass features a solid spruce top, for balanced sound reproduction. The silver leaf maple body adds strength and clarity to the A4 bass's sound. The rock maple neck adds plenty of sustain and definition from note to note. The soft C neck, cutaway on the Godin A4 SA fretless bass's upper bout, and 16 in. radius add comfort for intricate progressions.

Incredible acoustic bass sounds are available through the Godin A4's 1/4 in. output jack and controlling your tone is made easy with the custom Godin preamp section voiced specifically for the A4 SA bass. The two-chambered body design found in all of the A-Series instruments is also at work in the A4 SA bass. This design resists feedback as well as the negative effects that loud stage levels can have on top vibration. The Lace Sensor low-profile bridge pickup and side-mounted tone and volume controls reproduce and amplify your sound with natural-sounding clarity and dynamics.

Dressed in a semi gloss finish and featuring black hardware, the Godin A4 acoustic-electric bass has the natural look and feel of an acoustic bass, with a bold amplified sound that will blow you away.

Comments about Godin A4 Ultra Natural Fretless SA Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar:

I use this bass whenever I can, unfortunately I do not own one, but the school I play at does. It is so much fun to play, the notes sound so smooth and it can squeeze its way into most genres. If you can afford it, I'd say pick one up, you wont be disappointed.

Comments about Godin A4 Ultra Natural Fretless SA Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar:

Love it! This is my first fretless, and my last. This gives me all the tones I need, if you play closer to the bridge you can get that nice jazz bass tone, and if you play up by the neck you get thick, upright bass tones. Great for slap, pop, funk, muted thumb, pick, anything! Buy one!

Comments about Godin A4 Ultra Natural Fretless SA Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar:

I am replacing my old Godin due to poor string balance with weak G. The new A4 has improved balance but the tone is not as "woody" as my old A4. The magnetic PU is next to the bridge & produces a bright electric "jazz bass" sound. I would prefer more bottom with the PU closer to the neck. I have no use for the MIDI on an acoustic bass. The thumb rest is functional, but butt ugly cheap plastic.
