Bought my '50s era American made Tele a year ago. Whilst having read about the Vintage Noisless Pickups on several websites and did not read one single bad review, I thought they would be just the thing, being as how the stock pickups sounded a little 'thin' and, well, lacking just a tad in what I wanted it (the guitar) to sound like. Whoa, Dude! I cannot believe how awsome these new pickups sound. I even put my old/new originals in my other Tele so I could directly compare them and, wow, I will never have need of the stock set again. The Vintage Noisless have much better gain, or volume, have a beautiful silky RICH overtone yet still retain the famouse Tele snarl and twang. These pickups just say 'spank!" There can be no comparison. While at it, I also added the four way switch to get the series circuit on both pickups and you talk about punch. They got it. It's like having a whole extra guitar. With these pickups one has a more verbose tonal range with which to achieve a greater array of amplifier input 'flavors' to begin with. I am completely and deleriously happy with this entire improvement. So if you be scared to spend the bucks to get these, rest assured you will not be disapointed, I mean, why are you looking for new pickups in the first place? Vintage Noisless are clearly the answer.

i recently got a mim fender standard tele and since trying it out in the store, decided right away that i was going to replace the stock pickups. I tried the seymour duncan vintage stack.. And man! What a hassle to fit the four conductor wire in the guitar's cavity, and they did not sound that great. Then i decided to give these pups a try but they failed. Quality is poor compared to other hi end pickups like dimarzio and some seymours, The box came in bad shape, and bridge pickup did not fit my fender standard bridge. Sound was pretty decent. You kinda get that 60s tele sound.. And no hum which is great. But Overall i wouldnt recomend these pups to a friend. Intall is hard on some tele models and quality is poor. Took them out inmediately and got a set of GFS pro 63 tele pickups!

Quiet AND Rich

By Myron

from Portland, Oregon

Comments about Fender Vintage Noiseless Tele Pickup Set:

I was waffling between purchasing these pickups or the Seymour Duncan pickups, which also received some good reviews. However, I liked the look of these, with the "noiseless" inscription, and the shiny silver neck pickup; the reviews were great, so I bit the bullet and ordered the Fender Vintage Noiseless. These pickups cost as much as my Affinity Squier Tele, but have made it worth many times its purchase price. I believe there are more subtle overtones with these pickups, especially the neck, which actually makes for a richer sound. Still "twangy" from the bridge, but a fuller twang. And QUIET. No more funny looks and shaking heads from my bandmates when I turn my amp on in practice. Haven't recorded with them yet, but seem quiet enough for recording purposes also. One thing of note: while trying to "desolder" the old wires from the volume trimpot, the old solder just would not melt. (I have a 30-watt soldering iron.) I did not want to purchase a 60-watt iron as some internet tips suggested, so I just cut the old wires as close as possible to the old solder, covered the loose ends with new solder, and then soldered the new wires right on top of the old solder joint. Works great.

Poor quality control

By Robert Kinsell

from Nacogdoches Texas

Comments about Fender Vintage Noiseless Tele Pickup Set:

Finally got the pickups installed ... neck pup is fine, good sound. Bridge pup is shorted out, almost no sound, static, cutting in and out. Thought it was the wiring, installed an Acme pre-wired harness, same problem. Replaced the bridge with an old GFS pup, and it works fine. Can't really stand that the"Big National Company" can't keep standards up where the cheap guys can.

Good Pickups at a Good Price

By Brian Roncevich

from Freedom, PA

Comments about Fender Vintage Noiseless Tele Pickup Set:

I bought these pups for a home built Tele project. I have to say these things sound great. I dont have another Tele to compare them to but I do have several Strats. The neck pup has that nice mellow tone but when you crank the volume it really comes alive. The bridge has a nice bit of Tele twang to it but not over the top. Roll the tone knob back a bit and it sounds great as well. Compared to my Strat with Texas Customs I think it has more bite. Overall I would rcommend them and plan on using them again in a few more of my home built Tele projects.

Best Pickups for a Tele

By Lynn Good

from PA

Comments about Fender Vintage Noiseless Tele Pickup Set:

Just got these about a week ago. All I can say is absolutely amazing! They give my '93 Telecaster a better sound than a new one off the rack. The price is great. I highly recommend these if you want to make your Tele better than ever!

Excellent Noiseless Sound

By mk

from Haskins, Ohio

Comments about Fender Vintage Noiseless Tele Pickup Set:

These pickups sound great. They have enough of the tele twang to be so labeled. However, if your looking for that true vintage sound - these are not what you want. And, it is not why I bought them. I bought them for the noisless feature because you can't always control your enviornment when playing live. Fender quality seems to be slipping as I had to return the first set due to a problem with the neck p'up. In addition, I had to make longer spring tubes for the neck pick up and also used #4 machine screws in place of the wood screws sent by Fender - which were too long anyway. I've always been a advocate of Fender. But these sorts of details bother me. I got the sound I want and they work great. But it took extra effort to make all this work.

Defective, but Great customer service

By RW

from Alabama

Comments about Fender Vintage Noiseless Tele Pickup Set:

As luck would have it, the second item purchased at Guitar Center That was defective, and was in no part GC fault (it happens in all products), the bridge pickup had no continuity what so ever. So I called GC customer service, and once again received the highest level of service anyone could ask for, even though they could not exchange my purchace because I paid with paypal, I had to reorder, but that aside, I received the new pickups which were in perfect condition, and got rid of the noise i my old Tele, although there are certain aspects I miss about the Seymour Duncan's, these have a more vintage vibe happenin'. I still have some pick guard noise, but nothing like before. but am considering a backup Tele, I may get to reuse the SD's. but for now I'm diggin' the new Tele! By the way, the idea for these pickups were from a American Strat Deluxe I bought from GC with the vintage noiseless pickups and the first time out I knew I had something allot quieter than my SRV. I hate ac noise and I get plagued with it worse than most, or maybe it annoys me more than most. I've missed playing Fenders.

IT'S ALIVE !

By Gary Long

from Lancaster Pa.

Comments about Fender Vintage Noiseless Tele Pickup Set:

I was given a Squire Affinity Telecaster as a Christmas gift and it was great for playing at home,a lot of fun. The only problem was that these new energy saving lights we are using caused too much buzzing. After reading about the Vintage Noiseless pickups I thought they would take care of the problem. The bridge pickup seemed a little snug so I opened up the bridge plate slightly. While I was at it I upgraded the electronics which required drilling out the control plate to acccept the new switch and pots. The result is that I took my nice little guitar and created a MONSTER. I would have been happy just to elimanate the buzz but got so much more. The only downside is that when plugged straight into my tube amp I seem to have lost just a touch of tonal purity but compared to the buzz this is a very small trade off. A great product, Highly recomend.

GREAT SONIC IMPROVEMENT

By jimmyD

Comments about Fender Vintage Noiseless Tele Pickup Set:

Replaced the factory pick ups on my blackout telecaster with the vintage noiseless. WOW what a difference! Not only did it cut out most of the annoying buzz, now the sound really jumps. An upgrade worth the dough.

Get These Pickups!

By J-Dizzle

from Madison, Wisconsin

Comments about Fender Vintage Noiseless Tele Pickup Set:

Just do it. If you want thick, vintage cleans and surprisingly aggressive overdrive for your Tele, I HIGHLY recommend these pickups. At first, I was slightly skeptical. I wanted something that could replace the kind of weak, buzzy tones I was getting with my stock p'ups with something that could give me a warm, versatile feel. I looked at different reviews for Texas Specials, Lace Sensors, and these. When I bought these and installed them, right after I plugged my guitar into my amp I fell in love. The tone is incredibly bright at the bridge, and thick and buttery at the neck. But that's not all! When I switched on the distortion, I could actually play METAL with these things and it sounds GOOD. I definitely recommend these for any Tele player who wishes to upgrade their sound.
