Overview

The king of solid body guitars, the Les Paul Custom made its debut in 1954 after the initial success of the Les Paul Goldtop. Les Paul himself originally suggested black as a great color for a new Les Paul because it looked "classy" and went well with a tuxedo on stage. Now, you can own this Les Paul Custom in a limited edition Silverburst finish. And with its chrome appointments, fully bound body, neck and headstock and mother-of-pearl inlays, we think you'll still agree that the Limited Edition Epiphone Les Paul Custom is "dressed to kill." Now featuring ProBucker 2 and ProBucker 3 humbucking pickups, chrome hardware, multi-binding on body (top and back), neck and headstock as well as split-diamond mother-of-pearl headstock and block fretboard inlays, it's as gorgeous as it is deadly. Case sold separately.

I use to own a Gibson LP Custom in silver burst when they first came out. I loved the sound but the quality in workmanship was something else. I'll be polite and leave it at that. Needless to say I swore off Gibson and never wanted to go back. Ever since then I pretty much have been a Fender Strat man for many years. Giving credit where credit is due, there is just something about the LP sound you can't get with anything else, so I thought. I went to GC expecting to pay nearly 5 thousand dollars to buy one that was claimed to be like, or even better, than my old one. There was no comparison. The new one didn't have the feel or sound of my old one, or any other LP for that matter. About ready to leave the salesman asked me to try this Epiphone LP in silver burst. I laughed, but thought what the heck, I was already there. When he handed me the guitar it totally blew me away in appearance. When I sat down to play it, that was the exact sound I looking for, plus more. I would have bought it on the spot but it was pretty heavily demoed. With them not having a new one in the box I went home and ordered one online. This is not something I would normally do with a guitar, but they said if it's not to my satisfaction in any way, I could return it to the store or send it back. Upon its arrival, I was amazed at how well it was packed. It was triple boxed and had padding all around it. I was again blown away by its looks, it's beautiful! The neck was perfectly straight, it was in tune, the intonation was spot on and there was no fret buzz what so ever. The only adjustment I made was to change out the strings. I have yet to find a new guitar I have not had to do this to. Other than that, it was ready to play right out of the box. For those looking for a Gibson LP, check out the Epiphone too and make the comparison. After all, they are a sister company to Gibson and they are a great guitar at literally a fraction of the price. I have no regrets and feel I made the right choice.

ok bought this guitar 2 weeks ago...look good, smelled good..I was excited. Call me crazy BUT...different from the reviews I read. Will not stay in tune. I tune it with a snark tuner, as I do my other guitars and 3 or 4 chords later. I get the outta tune blues. Nothing worse than the outta tune blues when you just paid a lot of money for a guitar. I'm going to see if I can take it to a Guitar Center store and let them advise me...very disappointing to have to do this.Hope I can get some satisfaction because right now " I can't get No......."

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom PRO Electric Guitar:

This is a higher end Epiphone Les Paul so I would say it just as good (or close to it) as a low end Gibson Les Paul. You do pay a lot for the Gibson name. I love playing this guitar. The coil split I'm not too crazy about since it cuts the volume almost in half but it does give you that single coil sound when you pull out the knobs. I think it's priced right, it plays well, sounds great, feels good, hallelujah! I would say try it out. I do use it in my band, The Hallelujah Blues Band, check us out on the internet and check out how it sounds in the video where I'm using an envelope filter which is basically an auto wah wah. Have Fun!

This is an awesome Les Paul with the coil split option. I use it to perform. The first one delivered had neck problems but GC took it back and got me a replacement quickly.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom PRO Electric Guitar:

I was looking for a good practice Guitar and was blown away with this guitar. This guitar looks great and feels even better. Right out of the box and into a Mustang amp, the tones amazing. I'm not sure I agree with some of the negative reviews as my experience has been different, maybe I got lucky as GC had an unopened box in the store that I transported myself. If I had one favorite feature about this guitar, it would be the neck. For my hands, it fits like a glove and moving up and down the frets is effortless.

I have an American Strat that I love and always wanted a Les Paul but did not want to fork out the thousands for the Gibson. I love the color of the guitar and the only blemish (quality issue) is finish missing in a small spot on the first fret. I restrung the guitar and the setup was on so no adjustments needed. I think for the price this is a great guitar to own you can't go wrong. I look at a Mexican Strat when I bought my American and it was night and day feel difference so I forked out the extra money.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom PRO Electric Guitar:

So, I wanted a LP. I went to guitar center and played ALL of them. Sure the Gibson LP sounded a little better, just not $1500+ better. Great sound and great feel. It is a beautiful guitar I get compliments about the appearance by nearly everyone that sees it. If you want a LP without breaking the bank this is an excellent choice. Popped some 10-52s in it, put my Schecter on a stand and just play this thing non-stop.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom PRO Electric Guitar:

Dollar for Dollar,.. 'easily' a better value than any of the entry level $8-900 Gibson's hanging above it that I was originally looking to buy. The Gibson's all had jagged frets sticking out - felt horrible! Fret board was not properly lined up with the neck where it joined the body or even trimmed to fit. Gritty frets. Cut cost with a really 'cheap' satin finish - which only seemed to be a description not an actual finish at all. Then there's this Epiphone Limited Edition Custom Pro Silverburst, it's gorgeous and quality made! Great tone, no flaws at all and I have looked with great scrutiny. It's worth mentioning that it's one of the most well done faded edge paint jobs in this silver burst that I've seen in a while. No variation or airbrush inconsistencies at all! I've seen these before & just never gave them a second look until I saw it in person and held it close enough to really appreciate it. I've heard people say that before, but figured it was bull,... it's not. Smooth pots. Tuners feel like a better quality than listed. The wood was very well sanded. The coating was fluid and beautifully glassy. Very resonate neck to body, a nice solid feel / weight with the sustain and tone dept we all expect form a Les Paul. Like most guitars we upgrade them and customize along the way where we can. If you're looking for a guitar that sounds and looks great NOW and you won't be in a hurry to upgrade or feel disappointed until you do, then here it is. I could go on and talk about it's tone and versatility - which is has - but someone else will do that. If you think it sounds muddy or so/so. Then you should look into buying a good amp. Go look for yourself. I'm not saying it's the best in the world. I'm saying it's shockingly well made for it's price range. A quality guitar that sounds great and is 'dollar for dollar' an incredibly good value. Epi's giving Gibson a good run for their money here. Good job guys!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom PRO Electric Guitar:

I had been looking at the guitar for almost 3 years when I first saw in at Guitar Center in MD. I was trying to decide on either the LP Black Beauty of the LP Limited Edition Custom Pro Silver Burst. I played both for several hours at G.C. and just could not resist the LP Silver Burst. I bought it a few weeks ago and have been playing it for hours each night since it was purchased. The fit and finish are beautiful and the pictures don't do it justice. The sounds and tones that can be had out of the Pro Humbucker pickups are incredible and just what I was looking for. The frets and fret boat are smooth and clean with no rough edges, the set up is almost perfect right off the shelf with only a couple of adjustments for action that I will take care of later. I also like how it stays in tune even after aggressive playing and with lots of string bending, only a minor adjustment has been required after a couple evenings of enjoyable playing. I played guitar back in my teen years thru my mid twenties then I stopped and sold all my equipment and have just started back playing again about three (3) years ago. I am in my early sixties so I grew up on Rock-Roll / R&B and Metal so this guitar totally fits the bill because it can reproduce all the sounds I enjoyed back in youth. I am glad I was finally able to picked up this guitar after wanting one for years.

I bought this guitar used from my local Guitar Center. I always wanted a Gibson Les Paul Custom in a silverburst finish, but could never afford one. I saw this Epiphone on the rack and grabbed it immediately. It sounds awesome, though I might switch out the pickups for something with more low-end. All in all best guitar I've ever owned.

Had been looking at the LP Black Beauty and the Limited Edition LP custom pro silver burst for almost two years. I would pick up one or the other every time I went in to GC to pick up strings sets for my guitars. I finally selected the silver burst limited custom pro and have been playing it for hours every evening. I play mostly classic rock , blues and this guitar covers all these venues perfectly. The numerous tones and sounds that can be had just from adjusting the knobs on the guitar are incredible and that is without even touching or adjusting the amp. The fit and finish on the guitar is beautiful and the fret edges areas smooth as silk. I played and owned mostly Fender guitars Strats and Teles when I was much younger and always wanted a Les Paul but just never owned one, now at 60 I finally have begun to really enjoy playing this awesome guitar. The guitar hold tunes pretty solidly unlike some of the other reviews I have read, and the action was set up pretty good right from GC. I will next put a set of Elixir Poly-Web strings on and just enjoy this really nice guitar.
