I've had this guitar for around 4 months now and its amazing. The finish is perfect, it stays in well nearly perfectly and is very sturdy. It sounds better than some of the guitars that cost over twice as much as it does. The EMGs need batteries because their active but they don't need to be replaced frequently like i thought they would. They'll last you around a month depending on how much you play. The Kahler is very easy to use and stays in tune great. A great guitar for the price.

ESP/ LTD Needs to review is design - the ESP version is great The LTD, well it sound great feels great plays great but the volume pot is in the way. I keep hitting it turning down volume.
I will have to move it.
Other than that its a great guitar for the price
PS: mine had a few uneven frets? I had to have them leveled.

Like Meeting an Old Friend

Comments about ESP LTD JH-600 Jeff Hanneman Signature Series Electric Guitar:

This is great out of the box. It reminded me of my old USA Jackson Soloist from the late '80's. It is designed to play fast and loud. I was real impressed with the active EMG PuP's. It is my first time playing actives in 25 years of playing. VERY high output and scooped, but not suited to untreated clean tones, but that's why I own a Strat and an ES-335. If playing clean intro's and breaks with the JH-600, throw on some chorus and delay to spice it up. The quality of this guitar is as good as any recent Gibson (see recent QC issues) or any USA made guitar. I have always enjoyed higher end Korean made at this price level. This plays and feels like a higher end guitar. I think getting caught up in the USA mystique is overrated. Always loved Kahlers as you can mute and not play sharp as on a floating bridge like a Floyd, as only the back part of a Kahler moves. It feels a lot like a standard Les Paul type bridge. Also no cavity cut out on the back so you get better tone, less wood removed. Grover tuners are refreshing. The deal breaker for me is the bound Ebony board. VERY hard to find anymore. Gibson won't and can't use it and Jackson and B.C.Rich are the only other companies who use it on affordable guitars. Ebony is just better for shredders than Rosewood, which is softer and has a more grainy feel than even Maple. Love the H with daggers inlays. I keep hearing in reviews that the volume knob is misplaced, but this is an easy hand adjustment to make and to me a non-issue.

For more than just Slayer fans

Comments about ESP LTD JH-600 Jeff Hanneman Signature Series Electric Guitar:

Very solid guitar to add to your arsenal. After reading the other reviews, I had to comment. Look, I have only purchased 1 Electric guitar in my life (Line6 J. T. Variax)that did NOT need a setup by a great guitar luthier. So, PLAN on it. Once done, the action was nice and low, NO fret buzz, was in tune all over the neck, stayed in tune and the tremolo bar was the easiest and sweetest non female thing I ever put my hands around. Sounds Very good but make sure you do it justice by running it through a high end tube amp like a Mesa, EVH, Blackstar, etc. with great quality cabs. It will then HIT REAL HARD and sound GREAT. It will even play most types of music well. However, Metal, Hard Rock, Rock, Pop, Soundtrack and Blues are probably the maximum practical style radius for it. Lastly, I love the EMG active pickups, 24 fret neck and the fact it is black. (is black over done? yes, still cool? YES)And so is this guitar. RIP Mr. Hanneman!

Got a Father's Day gift cert from the wife and kids..... Took me a few months to decide on what's I wanted to do w/ it. I wanted a guitar w/ EMG's and Kahler tremolo..... And this was what I found. The quality is tremendous - the guitar has a great sound - action - stays in tune when you work the Kahlsr over - I really love it.

Fret buzz is a problem

By VADYM OLIINYK

Comments about ESP LTD JH-600 Jeff Hanneman Signature Series Electric Guitar:

Nice instrument. Overall quality is good except fret buzz. After purchasing the guitar technical specialist from guitar center made his best to fix the problem (many thanks to him, really nice personnel in guitar center I have to admit). But unfortunately I had to make instrument return back to store as fret buzz was not fixed due to factory defect I think. This is the only but unpleasant problem with this model that I've encountered so far. That's why only four stars.

Comments about ESP LTD JH-600 Jeff Hanneman Signature Series Electric Guitar:

I could not beleive, that this guitar had ALL the specs I wanted, at such a great price. It was like it was desgned for me. This belongs in almost Any guitar players Arsenal! Especially loved the fretboard and whammy bar. I wrote a New song the minute it hit my hands. Then took it for a setup but that is ALL it needed, that it did not already have on it. Also I would recommend heavy strings for lots of whammy use and difference in tone. I might be married to Fender but ESP is sleeping with me now. LOL ENJOY

Comments about ESP LTD JH-600 Jeff Hanneman Signature Series Electric Guitar:

Beautiful looking guitar. Great pickups. Well built. However, a couple of dislikes for me.
The neck is too thin. Personal preference of course, but it needs to be thicker. Also, the volume pot is in always in the way when I am playing. Accidentally hitting it and turning it down. I have had lots of guitars over the years, and this is the only one I have ever experienced that problem. Kahler is good, but still does not stay in tune all the time. And the Cleartone strings they put on this guitar are terrible!!

Comments about ESP LTD JH-600 Jeff Hanneman Signature Series Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for about a year I bought it used for pretty cheap it's a 2008 model I don't know if they've changed anything between then and now but I like this guitar pretty well. It did have a minor fret buzz around the 7th and 8th fret but a quick change of strings and a truss rod adjustment fixed that problem right up. I don't gig with this guitar mainly because I don't take my higher end guitars to gigs, but I do record a lot with this guitar. I record mostly lead stuff with it and it sounds great. It stays in tune pretty well I keep the bridge screwed in because I'm not much of a trem guy, but when I first got it it stayed in tune with some of the divebombs I did, it would be better if it was a floyd for more dynamics but what can ya do. the grover tuners are great along with the fine tuners. the ebony fretboard love it feels good. The active emgs they aren't good for cleans, but if you're looking at a guitar made by the angel of death himself you don't care about cleans. the emgs do sound very good distorted they're clear and don't get muddy. The neck on this guitar is freaking awesome its smooth and thin and easy to play, I don't like the painted neck though. Yep this is a good guitar you know pick it up and jam mane easy as that.

OK but could be better

By BlackDeath-fvL1i

Comments about ESP LTD JH-600 Jeff Hanneman Signature Series Electric Guitar:

I can only tell you of my experience. The Kahler is nice but it does not stay in tune unless you lock it. Also, one of the Kahler string tuning adjusters will just spin out by itself. I would rather it had an unfinished maple neck like the 80s Charvels did. If your hands get sweaty, they will stick to the painted finished neck. If you pull on the neck, you can hear the strings tighten and loosen. The EMG pick ups do give a really good and tight sound. I think ESP could do better than this. Maybe the JH signature model really is better quality but the price is silly.

One Serious Piece of Machinery

By Majikart-H4Fs0

from Las Vegas,Nevada

Comments about ESP LTD JH-600 Jeff Hanneman Signature Series Electric Guitar:

for the past couple of years or so, I've been lusting after this guitar; I initially wanted the earlier 'Iron Eagle'(Named for the inlays)version,But after comparing the two,I've decided on the more recent model; Took me quite awhile to get it because they allways priced it just beyond what I'm comfortable paying for but I was able to get one. Like it says in the title, The EMG 81-85 actives combined with the alder body make it a serious piece of machinery,It sounds exactly like it looks, Dark,Wicked and Powerful; Plugged this beast into a couple of effects boards and pedals and came up with some of the most Powerful,Huge,heavy-as-Hell guitar tones I've heard in quite awhile.very comfortable to hold and play,Feels Solidly built and you guys are gonna love playing this guitar's neck; no problems with it whatsoever, Very Happy with this purchase; if you can afford it,Listen to that little WarLord inside you and get one,Neither one of you will be disappointed.
