Overview

The 35HZ Passive Pickup for 4-string bass features a dual-coil design for low noise and plenty of output. Using EMG's "CS" design (Ceramic and Steel), this pickup has the punch and fullness of older passive designs along with added brightness for a better defined tone. EMGHZ features solid bar poles that cover the entire width of the strings so any string layout can be used. Using an Extended Series housing, it is a direct replacement with EMG's entire active pickup line. All HZ Pickups have EMG's exclusive 5-wire Quik-Connect output allowing any number of wiring combinations, and are fully shielded for a minimum of noise. String grounding is recommended to further decrease noise.
Package Includes: Mounting screws and springs.

Comments about EMG 35HZ Passive 4 String Bass Pickup:

These are my favorite pickups on the planet and I love them to death! I have played just about every pickup out there and these are amazing! For the bass, these are my number one! I am mostly a guitarist and LOVE the H4 in the bridge and H4A in the neck of my electric guitars. Perfect medium between actives and passives, these are the best of both worlds. I mostly play Christian Rock, Metal, soft rock, worship, and many others. BUY THESE!!!...and if you regret getting these, then you simply have bad taste and shouldn't be playing guitar/bass at all, with all do respect. They're are plenty of amazing pickups out there, and choosing others over the HZs is fine, but if you think that these are "bad" pickups, then you are just wrong and in denial.

    Versatile pickups

    By Josh j

Comments about EMG 35HZ Passive 4 String Bass Pickup:

They have thick and rumbling lows, growling and cutting mids, and articulate highs. They'll get any job done.
These pickups are very versatile. I play Prog, Gospel, Metal, Jazz, and many other genres and I can coax good tones for all situations. I can emulate a Geddy Lee neck pickup growl and a Steve Harris punch and clack and even a Ron Carter upright tone (with foam and jazz pizzi).
they do all they need to and none more.
EMG has to make profit. I'd buy these past boutique p'ups anyday.

    love/hate realationship

Comments about EMG 35HZ Passive 4 String Bass Pickup:

About a year and a half ago I purchaced an epiphone bass, it was a limited issue 'firebird' style bass and I loved the way it looked, played, it was weighted nice as to not make your left arm fall asleep as do 2 other of my instruments do. However I was not particullary impressed with the stock pick ups.Using 90% of 'neck pickup'I only needed 1 new piece to solve this quandry,an EMG Hz 35. I really like the freq. response and tone, not a large gain in volume but the timbre is 100% better. All solved now go home and kiss your momma goodbye. peace! 3ric

    Oh My GOD!!

    By John Barchi

    from San Jose, CA

Comments about EMG 35HZ Passive 4 String Bass Pickup:

These pick ups have turn my once tonally indifferent bass into a MONSTER! I can go from thin and sensitive to rip the top of your freaking head off with the twist of the tone & volume. The installation is two pick ups, one at the neck and one at the bridge with a 3 position selector(neck, bridge, both). The different placements give another dimension to the tone available. Much more varied than a single pick up centered between neck & bridge. Very, very, very pleased.
