One of the original models in Cordoba's Luthier Series, the Cordoba C10 is built with a solid Canadian cedar top with solid Indian rosewood back and sides. The C10 features a fan bracing pattern, which gives the center of the soundboard more surface area to vibrate and respond to the tension of the strings. A more responsive soundboard makes the guitar louder, and provides better tone. The C10 is the perfect choice for the serious classical guitarist, or for any player looking to upgrade to a concert-level instrument at an affordable price.

Like every guitar in the Luthier series, the C10 is built with Spanish heel construction, where the top of the guitar is attached to the neck, the sides are added next, and the guitar's body is sealed by the installation of the back. This construction feature allows the entire instrument to vibrate as one unified piece. The C10 has the neck shape and flat fingerboard characteristic of traditional classical guitars, and includes the added benefit of a two-way truss rod built into the neck. Cordoba recently expanded upon the C10, offering two new options that appeal to guitarists from all backgrounds: the C10 Parlor, which has a 7/8 size body shape and 50mm nut width, and the C10 Crossover, which is a full size guitar with a slim neck profile, radiused fingerboard, and 48mm nut width.

Aesthetic touches like the mother-of-pearl weave rosette inspired by a 1920's Domingo Esteso guitar add a touch of vintage elegance to this best-seller. Other premium features include an ebony fingerboard, rosewood bridge, high gloss finish, and Savarez Cristal Corum strings.

The C10 includes Cordoba's polyfoam case.

  • Comes with a himidity control case
  • Full, articulated sound
  • Low price for product quality
  • Very high playability

Cons

    Best Uses

Comments about Cordoba C10 CD/IN Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I absolutely love this instrument. It's hard to find something with this kind of playability AND sound quality for this kind of price. It's pretty much up there with the highest level mass produced classical guitars. I don't see why anyone would buy anything beyond this in the non-custom crafted instrument category. I've been playing since I was a kid and I've had several mishaps with my left wrist over the years that left permanent damage. This is the first guitar I can use to practice for as long as I want, pain free. I am still in disbelief and at a loss for words. What an incredible investment!

        • Studying classical guitar

Comments about Cordoba C10 CD/IN Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I've been mostly a rocker and jazzer for over the past 30 years or so, but I've always had an interest in classical guitar and have played and taken lessons. When recent opportunities gave me a chance to study classical guitar in greater depth, I figured I needed to upgrade from my 1988 Alvarez student guitar. I wanted solid woods, but didn't want to pay a ton of money, which put me in the Cordoba C10 category. I played guitars by Kremona, Roderiguez, Yamaha, all in the thousand dollar range and found the Cordoba the best fit for me. It certainly played the best: everything felt smooth, nice, comfortable … hm, how else to describe. And it sounded simply beautiful. Nice volume, full expression, and very responsive to my touch. It's also beautiful to look at with some lovely details and borders, I haven't picked up my archtops in a while, and I think they're going to be neglected. At bottom: I LOVE to play this guitar, don't want to put it down, and am tempted to neglect everything else in my life!

        Perfect Guitar

        By Marcus Baloue

        from Chicago, IL

Comments about Cordoba C10 CD/IN Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

This guitar is the best! I needed to upgrade from my old classical guitar, and I searched hard for the best guitar at the best price. I visited a few music and guitar stores in Chicago, playing lots of guitars in the $1000-2000 price ranges. This guitar is by far the best guitar in that range and it exceeds my expectations. The body of the guitar is beautiful and the sound is amazing. I am able to get lots of volume and the tone quality is superior. In my guitar ensemble at my music school, I am able to compare my guitar to lots of other guitar. This guitar offers a better sound, body and feel that lots of guitars that I know people paid double or triple the price for. This is my second Cordoba classical guitar, and I have been very pleased with both. I have had this guitar for about two months and my older Cordoba for about four years (purchased new for about $200). Both perform very well and I have not had any issues with either.

        A precious little thing!!!

        By MIGUEL CASTELLANOS

        from Mason, OHIO

Comments about Cordoba C10 CD/IN Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I ordered an used one in "mint" condition. When I went to the store to get it, I had the staff take it out of the cardboard box and inspected it. We could not find anything that would indicate it was an used guitar. Even onlookers thought it was brand new. I tested it right there and the sound was just sublime!! Had to have the trust-rod adjusted a little bit to avoid buzzing. Within 3 days, the D string snapped. Then I realized, I did not buy strings. Drove back to the store and bought two packs of D'Adarios EXP. It took a while for the strings to really settle. The sound was even better than with the original strings!!! The gig bag is beautiful, practical, very protective and light.

        Cordoba C-10 cedar top

        By Greg

        from Buena Vista

Comments about Cordoba C10 CD/IN Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

Ordering: The ordering process was painless. Guitar Centers I visited did not have a C-10 available to try but some had C-7 and C-5s. I was impressed with the sound of the C-7. I decided to order a C-10 at the store (If you are not satisfied, you do not have to pay return shipping/restocking fee) shipped directly to me. Received my guitar at my home address in about 1 week. The packing was very good with shipping dents/scuffs on the outside box, the inner box was fine. Inside this box was a crumpled paper packed, firm foam formed guitar case with an integrated nylon cover. The case seemed to be made for the C-10's dimensions as the guitar packed inside it was snugly fit with no hint of movement. The case is a zipper closed case with an external pocket just large enough for a foot stool. Guitar: The fit and finish is very good for this price with no hint of excess glue inside the body and all the joints seem well finished with no hint of gapping/misalignment of the binding. The heel joint to body is tight (this guitar has a truss rod)and is even with the guitar surface. The back is finished well with book matched EIR and surrounding binding on each side. Sides are well finished with good binding application. The Cedar top is of very good/excellent grade and book matched very well. Polyurethane finish is thin enough to see a hint of the wood grain but adequate for protection. Although I prefer a wood rosette, the MOP rosette and bridge decoration will be fine. Machines appear to be of very good quality and works very well/easily. The black wood pegs and roller adds a nice accent to the thick gold plates. Setup: The guitar is very light and comes with Savarez medium tension strings. Neck has a very comfortable profile and fretting is easy and no buzzing encountered when playng loudly. Fret ends are adequately filed as not to have much sharp edges however if the ebony fret board is not kept at 40-50% humidity, I think the fret ends will be noticeable and sharp. The string spacing is also very comfortable and intonation is quite adequate. Tremolo pieces are easier to lay on this guitar and individual voices are easily discerned. Harmonics ring loud and clear and match the 12 fret notes. Sound: Definitely loud and clear (you can actually feel the vibrations as you play). Notes seem to have good sustain. Although this guitar is loud, the sound becomes compressed and distorted when playing more loud. Bass strings sound warm and separate with excellant sustain whether fretted or open. Treble strings are separate with sustain but have a very nasal quality but I suspect that changing to a different brand of treble strings will alleviate this character. I need to change strings anyway as they have already become worn at the frets. This review is after 2 weeks of long daily playing(>2-4 hours daily). I am still wondering about the long term stability of this very light guitar. Although no possible, I give this guitar 4.5 stars
