Overview

Building on Bugera's original Vintage V22, which has become a modern classic and inspired combo amp design, the impressive and hand-built 22-Watt, 2-Channel Vintage V22HD amplifier head exudes vintage tone and style, plus possesses modern features that will launch your sound into the sonic stratosphere. Loaded with three 12AX7 preamp and two EL84 power tubes, this incredible boutique-style powerhouse gives you the flexibility of two independent channels and selectable reverb, both switchable via the included heavy-duty footswitch.

Classic All-Tube Design
The Vintage V22HD features true Class-A technology with a 3 x 12AX7 front-end and 2 x EL84 tube power stage. A masterfully crafted all-tube amplifier head, the V22HD provides sweetly-balanced harmonics and natural tube compression, resulting in the warm distortion and break-up youve come to appreciate from those treasured vintage amplifiers of yesteryear.

The hand-selected 12AX7 preamp tubes in Vintage V22HD classic ˜60s-era preamp provide everything from sweetly-purring blues to mind-blowing crunch. Often employed in British-style amplifiers, the EL84 output tube is known for its crisp and chiming tonal quality when pushed to the max, and the V22HD harnesses every ounce of that power to awesome effect.

High-Definition Reverb
Adding to its impressive list of tone-shaping options, the VINTAGE V22HD?s high-definition Reverb puts the perfect finishing touch to your signature sound. Adjustable via the dedicated control on the front panel, you can finally achieve any sound you desire “ from a subtle touch to the cavernous, natural-sounding reverberation of a large arena.

Own the Tone
The VINTAGE V22HDs amazing tone-palette begins with its footswitchable, 2-channel (Clean and Lead) preamp. Tone-sculpting options abound, including an onboard 3-band Vintage EQ section (Bass, Mid, Treble) with Presence control. Normal and Bright inputs provide superb matching to your instruments tonal characteristics.

Expandable
The output impedance selector allows you to match any 4, 8 or 16-ohm speaker setup, such as their 112TS and 212TS cabinets. Plus, thanks to the V22HD's Mode switch, which selects between Triode and Pentode operation, you can instantly jump from sweet and warm “ to massively raucous high gain edge.

Comments about Bugera Vintage V22HD 22W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I'm a 34-year guitar hobbyist and have owned a Fender Twin Reverb, Blues Junior NOS, Blues Deluxe and Bugera T-50 tube amps. It was my overwhelming delight with the T-50 that got me curious about their V22 once I decided I needed to get that EL84 chime back into my house. I'm using it with a Fender 112 cab I upgraded to a Jensen C12K. I'm very happy. Great tones from my Strat's hot noiseless single coils and Les Paul's T-Top humbuckers. Sounds great clean and overdriven. Love the footswitchable channels and the solid digital reverb. I like it so much, I'm planning to get a custom Celestion Alnico Gold 212 cabinet so she doesn't have to share with the Blues Deluxe. This is a very reasonable price if you're looking to enter the tube amp arena. Hope this helps.

Comments about Bugera Vintage V22HD 22W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I have had this V22 Head for a month now.
Strat or Gibson. This makes them all sparkle. (I plugged in the G-Kids Old electric Harmony and tried it also.
This amp will stand up to any other on the market.
Overdrive is powerful. This tank loves pedals too.
I have had 3 different cabinets plugged in at various times, making it even more versatile.
Side by side with other brand tube amps in the room, this Bugera holds its own.

Comments about Bugera Vintage V22HD 22W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This is the amp for playing jazz to blues and classic rock music. The gain channel is muddy and not as articulate as I would like but I do not play on that channel so it was not a decision breaker for me. I use this a my practice head on a Mesa boogie 1x12 cabinet.

Comments about Bugera Vintage V22HD 22W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I love my Bugera amps, so continued my buying spree with the V55 to replace my Twin Reverb, so gave that head the V22's Fender/Jensen C12K loaded cab to align to its clean American tone. Nailed it. I bought my beloved V22 an Avatar cab with a Celestion Alnico Cream. Absolutely wonderful. Great vintage tone and early breakups match each other perfectly. The amp flatters the Strat single coils, SG P90s and Les Paul T-tops. An absolute pleasure - much more versatile and warm than the Fender Blues Junior NOS it replaced.
