Use for my guitar effects unit, Digitech Rp7. Like the one sided cord, only on one ear. They are very comfortable, ear covers are soft. No head adjustments needed, it does it on its own.
Did crackle slightly when high distortion was applied and at high volume. Not very much on bass side. Cord could be quite bit longer. I can not use stsnding up only sitting down. Will need extention.

I purchased these headphone during a 48 hour sale. I needed to replace my Bose headphones and didn't feel like spending another $300 again. (I may still go back and fix them.) I've been using the headphones for about 2 weeks now, and I've notice a few things:

1. They're relatively comfortable for extended periods of time.
2. You cannot wear them around your neck due to the retractable strap over the head (allowing for it to be completely adjustable without having to manually adjust it.)
3. The headset is all plastic. I'm not too confident in its durability.
4. Most importantly, the sound is not that great. The high end frequencies sound ok, but the mid and low end of the range sounds hollow and doesn't provide a solid sound. I'm definitely no audiophile. So this is just my personal opinion.

Comments about AKG M80 MkII Semi-Open Studio Headphones:

Needed an extra set of headphones for recording in my home studio. My benchmark headphones are an AKG 240M, which is an open headphone. Great for mixing, but too much bleed through for recording vocals while listening to a loud mix. I had bought some Tascam TH-300X closed back headphones for recording a while back, but they are a little too tubby sounding. The AKG M80 MK2 headphones are a good compromise. While not as detailed as my AKG 240M headphones, they are much clearer than the Tascam headphones, and with very little bleed through when recording vocals. The fact that they sell for much less than either the Tascam or the 240M headphones is why I would highly recommend the M80 MK2.

Although not the best headphones ever made, these things are lovely for the price point. As someone who works late and often has to record with headphones as to record without angering my neighbors, getting these things was a great improvement from my last pair. Full sound and comfortable. Careful though, they'll give you hat hair!
