Unfortunately, the counterweight isn't heavy enough to offset a Shure M58 unless you tighten it down. OnStage Stands has a 3# clamp on weight for 14 bucks and that fixed it. Otherwise,it is a well built offering with smooth operation.
Works but not very heavy. Doesn`t counterbalance with the mock weight attachment.
I never knew comfort in singing while playing guitar until this handy dandy little item! I love it, no more worrying about nailing my guitar on the mic stand and messing up my life! holds up nice, every one that I have owned has lasted a considerably long time. they can take abuse, just don't run them over with your van....... then they break.
I use this twice every week on stage. Works amazing! If you play guitar, it's the best stand you can buy!
