SIMPLY PERFECT!

By Terry Kolemaine

from Spokane, WA

I use this in an unconventional way. I attached it to my music stand. I extends a mic for my accustic guitar to a point just under the sheet music shelf on the music stand. When I sit at the music stand, the mic is perfectly positioned at the sound hole of the guitar. I can read the music and count on the mic to be exactly where it needs to be.

Very Useful Little Gadget!

By WENDY O'TOOLE

from Ohio

I was looking for a very specific use - something I could attach to my 3-tier keyboard stand and use to connect a microphone boom so I can eliminate the mic stand. I was skeptical whether or not this would be sturdy and solid enough. It works GREAT! I used a microphone boom with a very heavy counterweight to offset the weight of the microphone, but this rig never moves until I want it to! My only suggestion would be to coat the attachment clamp mechanism with a plastic/rubberized coating to prevent scratching your keyboard stand when you attach it. It comes as bare metal. I just bought a spray can of spray-on coating. It has stood up to gigging. Very happy, and the price is right!

Great for drums

By William Scott Thomas

from Moneta, Va

Great idea for a product. I use it to add a mic under my snare attached to the top snare mic stand. Only negative is the screw needs a nylon tip on it so it doesn't damage the mic stand its attached to.

Rugged

By Merrill Guice

from Valdosta, GA

A nice piece of iron with a heavy bolt and a polyethylene tip to snug up to the mike stand. I use it to hold my Tascam DR7 MII PNC recorder that is patched into the small Yamaha mixer that is affixed to the top of a mike stand. Use that to record sets to listen to in practice. Another great OnStage Stands product!

Lower mic stand boom

By Nate

from Eugene, OR

This attachable boom is perfect for the person needing a boom for an acoustic instrument, to come off the mic stand (with boom for your vocal mic up above). For only 12 dollars vs the cost for a second mic stand and a simpler set up, this is a great deal.

Overall Good Value and Performance

By Lyn Baker

from North Arkansas

This is the second pair of these I've owned (sold separately not as a pair). So, I like them well enough I've bought again. In our application, we hang two instrument mikes on the side of a stand using these side mount booms. They work great. Areas of caution: On the previous stand I owned, the throat of the clamp on this boom was too wide to attach properly so I had to improvise by making a shim that would take up the extra space. I am currently using this boom on a Hercules stand and I don't have this problem.
