Despite being an 'On-Stage' stand I set it up for use in my studio. It is exactly what I was looking for to gather all my synths and modules onto one workstation. I ended up adding/building custom shelves for the stand rather easily using basic pre-finished 48inch shelves from the hardware store. In fact each arm had 2 holes on it already so you could adjust how far out you wanted each to stick which made securing one to the shelve and one to the bar/stand a breeze. Shelves took about 2-3 minutes each to install. Very easy to adjust heights and angles of the arms/shelves. Its not the strongest material being that its all plastic but it is lightweight for those looking to bring it on the road. Can lift the whole unit with one hand. With that being said I must say the stand itself is actually pretty sturdy and does not shake or wobble in the least bit. Only reason I did not give 5 stars was one of the brackets that holds the screw was kind of stripped/warped so it took a bit to get the last screw in place. Otherwise standard set up took less then 5 minutes to assemble and like I said extremely easy to adjust to your liking.

Searched for days for something like this. The price point and FREE shipping made me buy it as it looked good on the web site BUT when arrived and put it together my excitement fell a notch.1. great idea for the grooves (to lock the hook-rods where you actually place the keyboard) as well as the secondary stabilizers on each side BUT you can't swing these hook-rods left/right. They are screwed on at 90 degree angle, making transportation and use for LIVE gigs virtually useless. 2. otherwise easy and FAST set up 3. the plastic used to tighten the tubes on each side could have been made with better plastic.(On my two screws were missing) Overall not bad for Made In China.

Exactly what I needed!

Comments about KS-7903 3-Tier A-Frame Keyboard Stand:

This is the stand I should've bought from the beginning. It's light and very sturdy. I really needed the ability to adjust distance between the keyboards, so this A-frame design accomplishes that no problem.
Use caution when tightening the hand screws – it can be hard to tell when they're fully tight and they will crack.

    Comments about On-Stage Stands KS-7903 3-Tier A-Frame Keyboard Stand:

I put at least 10 extra holes with screws in it and still wouldn't hold up one 88 key midi controller (on bottom rack) and two 61 key keyboards on next two levels. Took keyboards off to try to strengthen more and fell apart. So I bent it all up and put on side of street for scavengers to pick up as scrap. Save money and aggravation, spend a little more and get a real keyboard stand!

      Comments about On-Stage Stands KS-7903 3-Tier A-Frame Keyboard Stand:

it does the job if you are looking for a permanent keyboard/studio gear stand. It's difficult to break down and pack up into a car or SUV. I broke two of the support arm collar clamps already, one of them snapped in half, the screw stripped on the other. I wasn't tightening down that hard on them either. I used to have a 3-tier Ultimate brand A-frame stand almost like this one and the quality was 5 times better than this. I could torque down on the clamps without any worry about them breaking or the plastic cracking. Not the same story with this one. Very cheap quality plastic. Guess I just have to go gentle with it. Seems to be fairly stable when it's all put together and tightened down. I also don't like the fact that I don't see On-Stage selling the fx rack ears attachment that mount onto the tiers like the Ultimate brand used to have. All in all, not a bad stand, I really like it because it's wide (50") and it holds all my gear. It's just not the quality like they used to be (pretty much like everything else made nowadays).

        Comments about On-Stage Stands KS-7903 3-Tier A-Frame Keyboard Stand:

This rack is great for the home user. First off,it is fully adjustable in all directions-up,down,left,right,front,back,and tilt angle. It took a while to set it up for 3 keyboards but once it is set up it is strong, stable and looks great. I have not used this for gigs so I cannot attest to its portability, however being a carpenter used to transporting tool work stations and the like I can make a few suggestions to make this easier. After you have made all the adjustments in studio/at home from my standpoint the only things you would want to do is collapse the a frame leg support and loosen the tier tilt adjustments on the ends so they lay as flat as possible. Then you will be able to put the whole thing into a van or some other large vehicle for transport. (I can't envision gigging out of a mini cooper.) When you get to where youre going the only thing you'll have to deal with is the tilt angle of each tier. They will already be at the right height. Yes if you want to you could break this unit down to the components it was when you opened the box,but that's literally rebuilding the whole thing everywhere you go. My thought is the less you do the less can go wrong. That being said you can't beat this for home use. It is also the only rack of its type that will allow a full size midi pedal board for organ between its legs-definately one of my selling points.

        Comments about On-Stage Stands KS-7903 3-Tier A-Frame Keyboard Stand:

This is an excellent multi-keyboard stand for a home or studio environment where it will be a permanent fixture. Some reviewers have rightly noted that this stand is not a good choice for performers who need a portable keyboard stand for gigs. This stand is HUGE! I had to rearrange furniture to make room for it!

Some reviewers have complained that the stand is not sturdy and has dumped their expensive keyboards causing them to break. This is because their stands were not properly assembled. I can sympathize. Properly assembling this stand requires some information not included with the stand.

It is said that 1 picture is worth 1000 words. That may be so, but my stand came with 1 picture for assembly instructions and 0 words! This was insufficient. I found the information I needed on the On-Stage Stands website. The biggest problem is with the locking sleeves that came flush with the support arms on my stand as delivered, but which need to be moved against the T-Brackets on the frame where the tabs on the locking sleeves mesh with notches in the T-brackets.

To retrieve this information navigate to the web page: on-stage.com/products/view/11495. There are three important documents to download from this page!

Two single-page PDF documents are available on this page: The Specsheet and the Assembly Guide. Download these documents before you try to assemble the stand!

The 3rd and most important document is found when you click on the "Parts" tab on the page. This brings up a parts call-out image that identifies all parts of the stand. This is the ESSENTIAL piece of the stand's assembly puzzle! (This image is provided in .png format.)

With these 3 documents in hand you will be in good shape to assemble the stand!

One further issue: 2 of the 3 tiers on the stand are located above the Front and Rear sleeves that join the front and rear support legs. This results in the three tiers being too high for my comfort level! Here is how I solved this problem:

I disassembled the stand, removing the 2 top T-brackets from each side, then removing the Front Sleeve from each side, and reassembling the stand moving 1 T-bracket from each side below the front sleeve. This resulted in 2 tiers below the sleeves that join the front and back legs and only one tier above this joint! Perfect!

I strongly advise using a soft tape measure to match the height of the right and left sleeves. Measuring from the top of the front legs my sleeves are positioned as follows:

        Highest T-Bracket: 7"
        Front Join-Sleeve: 11"
        Middle T-Bracket: 17"
        Lower T-Bracket: 30"

These measurements are from the tops of the front legs to the tops of the sleeves/brackets. The measurements must be the same on both the right and left sides (DUH)!

        Enjoy!

        Great space saver

        By Marty Weil

        Comments about On-Stage Stands KS-7903 3-Tier A-Frame Keyboard Stand:

You can really pack a lot of stuff onto this thing. Having smaller controllers, mixers, interfaces, etc., it was all taking up way too much space. Its nice to be able to fit it all into one compact location. I wish their extra rack arm brackets were cheaper to purchase. However, cutting a thick piece of plywood and setting it across one of the tiers solved my problem for setting a lot of miscellaneous items on a tier. For home use, this is an awesome investment.

        I see nothing wrong here . . .

        By Clayton Norris

        from Dallas Texas

        Comments about On-Stage Stands KS-7903 3-Tier A-Frame Keyboard Stand:

Before this stand, I played with my big moog synthesizer, balanced on a plank of wood between two barstools. It worked, but still, a plank of wood! I bought this 3 tier A frame, and utilized the brackets to double up the capacity. Currently, I have a 6 track multitrack cassette deck/recorder, AND a moog on the bottom tier, with a MicroKorg and a number of effects "including a sequencer" on the top tier. Everything I need to REALLY jam. I can play all my instruments at once, which makes recording and gigging a thousand times easier. I see no problems with stability, really well built. Couldn't ask for more... Oh, and if you need more brackets, the company sells bracket kits at 7.50 each, (you'll need two, so 15 bucks!)

Needs work, but have the fix

        By Don Simpson

        from Independence, Ky

        Comments about On-Stage Stands KS-7903 3-Tier A-Frame Keyboard Stand:

These are great stands, but needs added bracing here and there. We have two keyboard players in our band and this is what we did. We purchased 4 of these stands. (7 Keyboards for 2 stand rigs) Since these stands are extremely light weight, we added bracing and an additional tier for one of the stands. We also drilled to reposition the holes on the aluminum pieces that actually holds the keyboards. We've looked everywhere for a stand to give us exactly what we needed and it's not out there. These stands are the closest and with these tweaks, now meet our needs with flying colors. Only gave them 3 stars because we had to do tweaks to get them where they should have been out of the box.
