The stand is very sturdy and easy to assemble. I use mine while sitting and due to that there are a few things to look out for. 1) There is a hole @ ~24" and then nothing until about ~29" This is o.k. depending on your keyboard height. But if you're looking for a standard piano height you might need to drill if your keyboard is thin. Worked fine for a P85. 2) There is little room for your knees the way it comes. I fixed this by swaping the four hinged support bars so the top became the bottom, etc. This put the main cross bracket toward the bottom instead of directly at knee height. Was pretty easy to do and works great now.

PROS: I am tall and play standing up, and the lower tier is high enough to play comfortably. 2nd tier is adjustable and sturdy. Hold bigger keyboards easily without obstruction (Kronos, Jupiter-80, PolyEvlover, etc.)
CONS: Long set-up and tear down. Far too many screws and knobs to lose. Knobs are flimsy. Worst design I've encountered for ANY music gear as far as mobility/transportation/modularity- Very bulky, and even when broken into several parts it does not pack nicely into any space (van, car, trunk, storage space).
BOTTOM LINE: It is big and sturdy, but very bulky and awkward (even when broken down). This is great for a permanent installation such as a home studio, but a gigging keyboard player's nightmare. If you are looking for a stand to gig with, look elsewhere.

Holds two keyboards perfectly as it should. I purchased this stand because of the angle tilt for the second tier and also the width adjustment capability of the whole stand.

    Comments about On-Stage Stands Folding Heavy-Duty Dual-Tier Z Stand:

Bought this as I was looking for a keyboard stand that I could place my pedal board under instead of off to the side using an X type stand. Received it quickly, and took no more than 15 minutes to set up. Was easy, directions were accurate and clear. Glad I ordered it.

    Comments about On-Stage Stands Folding Heavy-Duty Dual-Tier Z Stand:

This is really a great stand. It's very sturdy and has great adjustments for the top keyboard stand.
It's not very easy to put together. The directions are not great, but if you have some ability you'll figure it out.
    The two biggest problems:
It is not easy to break down and set up and to travel with. I plan on gigging with it and I can see that packing it up and setting it up are not going to be as easy as with many other stands.
I saw someone else say this and I will attest to it too. If you like to play sitting you're going to need to drill extra holes in it. They really could tweak the design and fix this for everyone but...

    Comments about On-Stage Stands Folding Heavy-Duty Dual-Tier Z Stand:

I use this in orchestra performances to hold a xylophone and a full-size glockenspiel. Talk about heavy-duty, my 2.5 octave glockenspiel weighs over 40 pounds - and I put it on the upper tier! Never feels unstable. Absolutely the best when you need to play xylophone and glockenspiel in the same piece.

    Good stand for the value.

    Comments about On-Stage Stands Folding Heavy-Duty Dual-Tier Z Stand:

    Nice stand. Key observations are:
    1) Did not come with assembly instructions. You pretty much have to figure it out from the picture.
    2) Be prepared to drill holes. The bottom section was too low. Next hole up made it too high so I had to drill additional hole about 1 1/2 inch up from lowest setting. Top section holes were too low. I had to drill extra hole to raise it up high enough so the top keyboard did not interfere with controls on the rear of the lower keyboard.
Other than the above, the stand seems pretty sturdy. I would not recommend for gigging. Probably need something lighter and easier to disasemble and reassemble. I have this in my permanent home studio. I bought it primarily because design allowed better leg room and space for FCB1010 midi pedal board. X-stand design is not pedal board friendly.

I have Hammond SK2 on bottom and Nord Stage 2 73 on top. Hammond cannot go on top as it is not stable there.

        Comments about On-Stage Stands Folding Heavy-Duty Dual-Tier Z Stand:

This is the second On-Stage two-tier keyboard stand that I've purchased. I use it to hold a Roland A80 88-key MIDI controller and an Open Labs Neko. The combined weight of these two keyboards is around 130 pounds. This stand keeps these keyboards rock steady on stage. It replaced an Ultimate Support Apex stand that I found to be flimsy and scary with these expensive keyboards. I now use my older stand to hold my Roland Jupiter 8. No worries with my keyboards setting on these stands. The only complaints are that these stands are heavy and not very portable unless you break them down into multiple pieces. However, this is what you get when you need a strong stand. I may purchase a military duffel bag to deal with the portability issue. These are the only reasons I did not rate this stand with a "5".

            Comments about On-Stage Stands Folding Heavy-Duty Dual-Tier Z Stand:

I felt the need to give a review on this product, simply because of a few somewhat negative reviews. This is a good sturdy stand. Once it is completely assembled, you can collapse the size for transport in about 15 seconds and it is a reasonable size to deal with (unless perhaps you're driving a very small, compact vehicle). The other negative complaint I saw was regarding stability due to tipping potential. I have two Yamaha keyboards (88 keys) on mine, and I place the heavier one on the bottom. At that point it is very stable for performance. I'm glad I bought it and recommend it to others.
