Good stand, very practical

By Gregory Godfrey

from Palatine, IL

The only issue I had was the stand was shipped to the GC store and apparently sat there for a few weeks. I finally called the California customer service number to check on the status of the order, and they informed me that the stand was shipped to the store two weeks ago and was waiting for me to pick up - no one communicated this.

Decent stand for the money

By JAMES BRIGGS

from Nashua, NH

During initial setup, one of the rivets broke free on one of the support arms for the legs. I had to drill out the rivet and install a nut and bolt to make it usable. I'd be more upset if I didn't get it at an insanely low sale price ($14). If I look past the broken rivet, the rest of the construction is sturdy and everything stays put once locked down. I don't plan on moving it around, so it is fine for my application.

Perfect!

By Steve Cosio

Inexpensive, sturdy, easy-to-use. Everything I could ask for in a music stand. Would I buy another one? You bet.

Great music stand

By Gordon West

from Loomis, CA

Great music stand. I own 3 of these now. I like the compactness when collapsed. I also like the fact that all adjustments are locked down, unlike other stands that are "friction adjustable". I need a heavy duty stand, as I often use a laptop on it, which is much heavier than paper music!

On-Stage Conductor Stand...great price!

By ANGEL HERNANDEZ

from Edinburg, Tx

Strong build, sturdy, balanced weight, good size to have in practice room or studio. I greatly appreciate this due to the ease of reading music to practice to. I would recommend this as another good piece to add-on to your gear specially if you have stacks of guitar music you'd like to learn...the bed or floor ain't gonna cut it as a base for putting your practice music on. The price is what convinced me to purchase it & it was well worth it.

Excellent Value

By Keith Scott

from Huntington Beach, CA

Excellent value for the money, much stronger and higher quality than I expected! I'm using them for studio use, so, admittedly, they do not take a lot of moving abuse. Nevertheless, I set them up and store them each time, and they seem to be holding up fine.

Good Stand For The Price

By chain onorato

from Gonzales, LA

Not a bad stand. A little heavy, but other than that, good stand. Easy to position for your music reading. Pretty solid stand for thirty bucks. As far as reliability, I got it set up in my band house and I don't transport it, so I don't know how many set-up/tear-downs it will take. If I was in an orchestra or something along those lines where I used it everyday and transported it, I'd probably check out a higher-end stand that's lighter. I am an active musician in a local band so I know what it's like to carry gear to and from the gig. Less weight, the better.

Impressive

By Tom

from Marshfield, WI

This stand is very sturdy and well-built; a great value! It is height-adjustable and the music holder tilts forward and backward so you can basically set it up any way you want to.

Health Risk!!

By Dennis Edwards

from San Francisco, California U.S.A.

I have purchased several On Stage Music Stands over the past few years from Guitar Center. They were designed well and have held up well. This recent purchase of the very same music stand is a different story. The manufacturer has cheapened several parts of the stand: 1. The metal is lighter gague. 2. The tension set knobs have been replaced with weaker set screws using a plastic "wing nut" type design. Most importantly, the assembly point where the stand's music holder fastens to the pole on the tripod has been cheapened, using two "rubber looking" washers inside the set screw housing. These washers are NOT made of rubber. They are made of toxic compounds which will be fuming as soon as you open the box. If you buy the stand, be sure to replace these two rubber-looking washers with real rubber washers. (Each is about the size of a quarter dollar coin) If you don't, you will find yourself sneezing, with watery eyes, and developing a headache. I have done considerable research on ALL rubber-looking parts being exported from China these days, and the Chinese are using their toxic factory wastes to make thousands of "rubber-looking" parts for a vast array of items, from bicycle tires, to soles of shoes, to washers, grommets, facings etc. These toxic items are illegal to be made in the U.S.A. because they are extreme irritants but they are still imported from China. Take one sniff, as soon as you open the box. Your nose will tell you immediately! It is toxic, bitter, harsh, acrid...it smells more like SKUNK,..nothing like real rubber, and it will fume into the room where you keep your music stand. Spend the 95cents at a hardware store to replace these washers with real rubber washers, and throw out the toxic fake rubber immediately. Then you can enjoy your music stand.
