  • Plenty of work space

As reviewed by Scott Owen on 1/17/2011

I have had this desk in my studio for about three years.I found extremely heavy I call this a plus though it was tough to get it in the studio and assembled.Very well built piece of furniture only draw back that I have found is it is hard to place the Mac Pro in a good place.I have it set up exactly as you see it in the picture and it is a pain to go under the desk to turn it on and off or put in disks.I would highly recommend this furniture to a friend.

  • Yes and not so

The furniture is definitely nice. It's heavy. And solid. And when I load it with gear it seems like it will hold up well. The mediocre rating tho is simply because the ENTIRE piece is shipped flat as a flap jack. NOTHING us assembled. I am not incompetant when it comes to things like thus but the process if assembling this took MANY, many hours. Did mention how long it took to put together. I have purchased furniture before and, yes I expected a FEW pieces. But a bunch of flat cut and veneered wood and BAGS is screws etc. Is not what I was expecting in the least. This piece us nice and, were it in just a few pieces it would be worth the price but they made me do half the work I paid them to do. People are not going to like that.

  • Simply Awesome

I was on the lookout for a nice studio desk to move my podcast equipment(mixer, voice enhancer, desser, compressor, etc) into my computer environment. I run a home based IT business and needed a sturdy desk that was both functional and allowed growth. Im able to fit 4 24" lcd monitors with room to spare, mount speakers below the video riser support and place networking equip across the back side in order to monitor trouble lights. I have both side racks filled up and this thing is easy as hell to move around. Cable management is a breeze. I looked for about 1 week solid for the best deal on this desk and guitar center beat everyone because of their shipping costs. I think my entire order came out to $1924 shipped to my door in CA. I could of saved plenty by going with the black model but this mahogany laminate looks really nice. This desk is not cheaply constructed by any means. I recommend a screwdriver set that allows interchangeable hex/allen bits. It will make your life much easier instead of using the little hex key they supply. Also, a cordless drill will help with the assembly of both L and R side racks. I suggest a second person to help while assembling the racks, but other than that, you can do it yourself if you are strong. This unit does not vibrate with the equip running either. I have 2 Corsair 800D cases humming away on the backside middle support with plenty of room to spare to access cables, power buttons, etc. Video support riser is solid. This guy wont sag on you either. I did NOT use the included keyboard pull out as it just sits way to low for my seating height and really pulls you back from viewing the monitors without squinting. However, the unit is very solid if you decide to use it with several ergonomics to assist you. If you are a computer guy and studio guy, this desk is a no brainer. I would of gone with the Force 32 had they not robbed the video riser of space by adding two racks on either side. Once you work with 4+ monitors, there is no going back :) I hope this review helps those of you out who are sitting on the fence. Granted, there are nicer workstations available but nothing at this price point can touch this.
