Easy to use

I received the Olympus for Mother's Day. I LOVE IT. I am so technologically (and spelling) challenged that I have been using the old cassette voice recorder. I was relunctent to get one of these types or recorders because I thought it would be confusing to use, the Olympus is not confusing. I record on it and then play it back through the pa so that I can tweak the playing or singing. It is so easy, I was even able to make a CD using my computer! The stero sound was wonderful even though I recorded in my basement through my amp. I would recommend the Olympus for its ease of use and portablity. I can't say enough good things about it. I like being able to use a tripod during band practice to listen back and tweak some more.

Really Cool

I use this device to record EVERYTHING. It's such a handy tool. Great for jamming and never losing ideas. I have recorded many shows experimenting with different angles and placements of the recorder and it works great no matter what you do. The on board speakers are kind of weak but it's easy to plug into anything. Great little recorder for the cash.

Olympus LS-10 Linear PCM recorder/

In 2008, I got the LS-10 as a surprise Holiday present. 1st playback was clearer that some CDs I made with a dedicated CD burner at 1-1 speeds using high end mikes! I find it's concert or outside capabilities checking 5 stars everytime. At 165 grams that a lot of sweat saved. Concert, WAV setting, no peaks, hang or place on performance area. Start. At concerts the bold orange light is great deterrent to many unwanted situations.I monitor my audiences, usually small and 95 % fans or friends. A bright orange light glows when operating! Leave and stop only when your concert is over, absolute minimum battery worries, huge time limit on on recording. Zero drop outs as yet. Storage is huge. One small drawback could be provision of a larger, more elements proof case. Still a great tool. I'll be very surprised if the LS-10 will be electronically upgraded anytime soon.

A major step-up to cassette recording

NICE!!! Always comes to mind when using my LS-10. I bring it to each and every violin lesson. The record quality has extremely large dynamic range. On playback, you'll be hard pressed to hear any background noise! It's easy to use and it can be had for a bargain, as the slightly improved LS-11 is soon to be released. This little electronic wonder is for keeps!
