This Odyssey Glide Style Combo features a special sliding laptop platform mounted above a 19" ATA case. At your gig, set your laptop on the carpeted surface of the rack case, plug in and you're ready to go. Slide it forward to use your laptop. Slide it back to use the mixer section underneath. The slanted rack has 13 spaces, while the vertical rack has 16. The FZGS1316WDLX rack has a removable back cover that can be attached horizontally on the side, and using fold out legs, turns into a table perfect for those on-the-go gigs. It also comes with 4" caster wheels for easy transportation.
The gliding laptop platform can be positioned as needed. For the safety of your equipment, please be aware that the platform can be removed when slid out to it's furthest point.
Note: This Odyssey case is not designed to transport your laptop. Damage may occur.

Loved the design of this case. We ordered one to put some PC-based lighting and video control stuff. Liked the look of the sliding laptop stand. For a PC-based DJ this would be a great setup for mixer and controller, and with plenty of space below for amps, drives, etc.
I originally really liked the idea of the table top. I have another rack that has a table-lid. My older rack has a nice set of recessed dishes that the lid attaches to for making the table mounts. This Odyssey rack has little metal posts that stick out of the rack that some metal fittings sit on. I hate this for numerous reasons. The first is that the little posts make a fraction of an inch of mechanical contact. I am always concerned that a drunk patron in night club will bump into gear (a thing we try to discourage but bouncers seem to forget about the value of our gear). I am concerned that a quick bump would dislodge the connection and send a 'table' full of monitors and controllers plunging to the floor. The other REALLY BAD thing. These little stubs protrude from the surface of the rack. When packed in the truck they rub against ajacent gear and causing scrapes in the rack packed next to it. The little stubs catch on things.
The sliding stand is OK. Not nearly as cool as hoped. It has a tendency to slide when I need to hit a button quick, and I have now resorted to clamping the shelf in place after setting up, but now I have one more thing to carry and break down and pack.
I find that the lids are a bit warped and take some force to line up and latch.
Even with the sale price, definitely not worth the money... I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. I have a similar rack from another manufacturer and prefer it over the Odyssey.
The Odyssey Rack is good quality. My mixing board wasn't rack mountable so I built a shelf for the top of the rack and then set the mixer on the shelf with Velcro straps to hold it in place and it all worked out good. The rack seems to be sturdy, rolls around easy with 2 locking wheels, has handles to carry it and it's easy to load. The rack will easily carry all of my components.
