      Oasis OH-5 Plus+ Humidifier With OH-2 Digital Hygrometer (421668)
Availability:

Everything you need for safe and simple guitar humidification in extreme climates.

Oasis' OH-5 Plus + instrument humidifier keeps your guitar, or any other wooden instrument, in prime condition with the correct level of humidity. It's important to keep the relative humidity above 40% to prevent the instrument from cracking. With this comprehensive set, you can measure humidity levels and administer the instrument humidifier. It includes the OH-5 Plus+ Humidifier and OH-2 Digital Hygrometer with clip for attaching near the instrument or in the case.

Oasis OH-5 Plus+ Humidifier

While the original Blue Oasis provides sufficient humidity in many environments, it is not effective everywhere. The humidity demands of the desert, mountain states or frigid north exceed the humidification capacity of the device. For this reason, Oasis developed the Oasis Plus+ humidifier. The Plus+ is the same size and shape as the original blue Oasis, but is made of a different material that provides 50% more humidity output.

Because the Oasis Plus+ HumidifierPlus+ is the same size as the original Blue Oasis and it has 50% greater humidity output, it will be necessary to refill the Oasis Plus+ more frequently than the original Blue Oasis.

If one is using a hygrometer, Oasis recommends that the Oasis Plus+ be used when the room humidity is below 25%. The original Blue Oasis should be used when the surrounding room humidity is between 25-40%. Above, 40%, you should not be using a humidifier.

It is important to also to monitor the humidity inside your instrument case. Case size, design, material and other factors will impact the humidity permeability of each case. While general rules are helpful, a good hygrometer located inside the instrument case will give you the best information regarding proper humidification requirements.

OH-2 Digital Hygrometer w/clip

The Oasis Digital Hygrometer accurately measures relative humidity and can help you decide when to use your Oasis Guitar Humidifier. Because relative humidity varies greatly, even inside your home, we recommend that you keep your hygrometer close to your instrument.

With the convenient case clip, it is now possible to measure the relative humidity inside your guitar case. The new clip attaches to the back of the hygrometer and is mounted on the flap of the supply box inside your guitar case.

  • Working 125% Absolutely Perfection!!!

As reviewed by Ian Kurtz on 2/21/2012

I am currently using this humidifier and hygrometer for my 1973 Gibson ES-335TD. First of all, this Guitar came to me in Dare I say Near MINT Condition, from California. I received the guitar in the Summer if 2011. It went straight to my Luthier for all sorts of work..to boot it was in an Enviromentally controlled room as to keep it nice and fit for the work that had to be done, as when it was all through, the guitar came back to me in DEAD MINT Condition, let alone this sweety is all Original. So, Here comes the fall, then winter, now we're nearing spring due to the beautiful freaky Feb. weather, I finally gathered enough money..(yes I had trouble finding the moneys to but the whole kit, and a customized slide)and got the kit a week ago. Due to my schedule, and the fact I wanted to be awake to get everything correct, I get the humidifier in, and in the past couple days have been monitoring the humidity inside the case.........needless to say, my guitar was in need of this treatment, and on the third day and night, the humidity is reading at 28% as of right now 3:15pm Eastern Time: Fri. 2-17-12 Originally the first 12hrs read in the high teens, and had resumed a low humidity level until today. Quality: HIGH Reliablity of Humidifier AND Hygrometer: HIGH. Quality/Look/Feel: HIGH, getting this kit exceeded my expectations, as well as made me extremely happy, knowing exactly what the Temp. as well as how Humid the product is making the enviroment in my case for my extremely well taken care of, and very, very, Near Perfect 40yo Gibson ES-335. I am seriously pleased as well as no longer flipping and freaking out, over whether or not I've done any kind of damage to my guitar or not, in regards of not getting this product as soon as I got the guitar...then again I just spoke to a Gibson Tech, and was told that the Vulnerability of Acoustic Guitars, as compared to Hollow Body Electrics, are NOT the same, and Acoustics are far more prone to being affected/destroyed (as I found out as a teenager) I am grateful to Oasis for building such a feckin' kick-butt product, as well as making sure all bases were covered considering everything from A-F, in managing to make sure nothing about this product will damage or destroy the guitar. I have already noticed the change in weight of the guitar, as well as, Volume Level. As a consumer, I am far beyond impressed, and my nerves have been put at ease.....take a look at all the other junk out there, then run down the statistics, from each product and what they Claim to offer, then take a look at this...I can tell you now, this is a far more superior product to anything out there, or that is claiming to be "The Best", as far I I am concerned, they could possibly be the best at being a crappy, and constant burden product to the consumer, as well as trustworthy or having to make sure yourself that YOU aren't doing something wrong, or damaging you're Guitar with THEY'RE product. Forget it, I want piece of mind, and to be able to monitor what the hell is happened to my High-End, High-Quality, VERY OLD, as well as EXPENSIVE GUITAR. This really is the Best there is out there, don't waste time, money, or God Forbid, make some kind of mistake and ruin your baby.

  • Good Product

As reviewed by RICHARD DIXON on 3/15/2013

I live in the desert Southwest where humidity is always less than 20% unless it rains and even then the humidity rises just for a day or two and dives right back down. Air conditioning helps but still doesn't raise the humidity above 30%. It took a few days and a few refills of this products to get my guitars up over 40%. The humidity issue has made me rethink my case preferences. I once preferred gig bags over hardshell but I don't think this type of humidifier would work in a gig bag. I now I use SKB molded. I just noticed that the manufacturer, "Oasis," has another model OH-14 that has the same price, description (<25%) and same hydrometer as this OH-5+. I can't see a difference except they add some additional useful information in the description on how to get an accurate reading. It's entirely possible to over humidify (just as bad) so it's worth getting the hydrometer.
