Overview

The Numark V7 Motorized Turntable Software Controller is the turntable for today's DJ. The V7 delivers outstanding feel and unprecedented power in a single-platter digital DJ controller. The Numark V7 is based around the acclaimed adjustable torque, motorized-platter design from Numark's NS7 turntable and delivers a host of professional features including real vinyl and a slipmat that analog turntablists will love, plus turntable control at 10 times the resolution of standard MIDIs, mouse-less library navigation, and Strip Search virtual-needle drop. The V7's linking function enables you to combine multiple V7 controllers with your choice of any mixer and your Mac or PC for a completely customizable, totally seamless performance environment.

The Numark V7 software controller includes a professional 24-bit audio interface and contains premium faders, knobs, and buttons including controls for selecting tracks and blending audio effects in the included Serato ITCH software.

Perfect feel:
Forget your experiences with other controllers. The Numark V7 has a 7", motorized, high-torque aluminum turntable platter. The turntable offers both modern and classic settings that alter the feel to model the feel you prefer. A 7", legit vinyl record with 45rpm adapter sits on a real slipmat. There's no simulation here—the V7 is the real deal.

Numark used nothing but premium, rugged, rubberized buttons and knobs for an unquestionably high-quality feel. Its recognizable, professional appearance is supported by a clean design in matte and glossy black. The V7 is housed in a heavy-gauge, industrial-strength metal casing that is ready for the torture of travel.

Professional setup:
Forget the mouse. Forget the keyboard. The Numark V7 controller renders software perfectly simple to operate, with its click knob and large, backlit buttons navigating though your music library. You'll spend less time looking at the screen and more time enjoying performing thanks to the visual feedback you get from the V7's extensive LEDs and hands-on controls.

Grab a pair of V7s and your favorite mixer, such as the DXM PRO, and you're ready to rock. The Numark V7 controller has onboard audio outputs, so it's the only piece of gear you need to connect to a PA system or powered speakers. The front panel contains a mic input, an RCA line input, and both 1/4" and 1/8" headphone outputs with volume control.

To complete your system, you can add-on Numark's Laptop Stand (sold separately; see item #583102) to elevate your computer to comfortable height. Numark's custom 7" Color Vinyl records (sold separately; see items #583098 and 583099) enable you to customize the look of V7 with eye-catching, translucent looks.

Precision control:
The V7 sends control information over USB at more than 10 times the standard MIDI rate. This innovative communication technique yields extremely high-precision, low-latency control.

There's nothing like dropping the needle on a record for quickly locating a point in the track. Numark took that idea and developed Numark's own modern take on it with the Strip Search, a unique virtual-needle-drop touch strip. You can locate a point instantly within the track using the on-screen waveform and Strip Search.

5 hot-cue-assign buttons on each deck digitally mark your cues on the track. These marker points are recallable in ITCH, and you can even load Scratch LIVE cue points into ITCH.

Numark developed an extensive loop-controls section for creative remix capabilities. You can choose between manual and auto-loop functions, while an automatic BPM analyzer further assists loop makers. Creating automatic smart loops of any measure length is a breeze, and you can mutilate and modify to your heart's content with a variety of controls such as Doubling, Halving, Shift, and manual controls. Multiple loop banks make the V7 a great choice for scratch and club DJs alike.

Beat matching is straight ahead with 100mm, smooth, stiff pitch sliders. Plus and minus buttons are back by popular request for bending. There's also a zero-point LED, so it's easy to know when you're in the middle.

Audio quality:
Numark took extraordinary care in selecting the components of the audio signal chain. The V7 contains a host of professional audio connectors and a multichannel, 24-bit USB digital-audio interface. It outputs high-resolution, 24-bit audio to the sound system on XLRs and RCAs.

The high-definition, post-mix analog audio output features a minimized circuit path containing only one audiophile-grade bipolar capacitor. This optimized design maximizes phase coherence, ensuring that the audio is tight and punchy.

Serato ITCH Software:
The V7 comes with Serato ITCH. For one-to-one communication, each knob, button, and control on the V7 corresponds exactly to that function in the software. Serato ITCH is already familiar if you use Scratch LIVE. ITCH builds on Scratch LIVE and adds some new, key features. ITCH makes timecode a thing of the past, so you won't need to worry about needles skipping or vinyl wearing out. You can load your Scratch LIVE crates, loops, presets, and cue points seamlessly in ITCH. The V7 also works with most other MIDI DJ software and supports iTunes.

After 4 years they are still AWESOME!

By ISRAEL

from vista, ca

I started DJing in 1994. Nothing but turn tables and crates! I stopped for a while and then jumped back into DJing in 2010. Everything changed. It was all digital. After doing a lot of research and bringing back the turn tables i bought from guitar center back, i went with 1 V7(which could be used as 2 decks) and a mixer. The V7 ran off Itch and itch had it's issues but there were work arounds. I bought a second one a year later with money i made from gigs with the first one. The V7s now run with Serato DJ and they have never fail me. If one ever fails during a gig i can use the other one as 2 decks without missing a beat!

@ Hardware is good but Itch is horrible???

By Melvin Hawkins

from Davenport , Iowa

Now if you did your research you would have know that serato and Itch have had problems with the i3,i5,and i7 processors, and an ADM Processor as a matter of fact, that is why it is glitching, stopping, and maybe even crashing, check the specs of the software and see what operating system or processors it works well with. With that said change your laptop/desktop to one that the software is compatapble with, This works fine for me with my Dell with Duo core processor. No Glitches Nothing so check the specs first before buying or installing software.

Hardware is good but Itch is horrible

By Jerry Wade

from Omaha Ne

I purchase these 3 months ago and can give my honest opinion. The hardware is built like a tank. The decks feel like real turntables. I never got into the cd decks. Just didn't feel right to me but I finally coming from my 1200s to get into the digital age. These are a perfect fit for any vinyl dj wanting something that feels like turntables. You can scratch and beat juggle like real turntables. The only downfall is the software that comes with it. Itch is very unstable. I have a new laptop (Intel i5, 8 gigs of ram, win 7 64 bits) and it freezes when I play music. The music dropped out on me 3 times in one night. So I use Virtual Dj pro 7 and itۡs much better than Itch. I would recommend these to anyone who want to get away from vinyl and still have that turntable feel. The software is horrible so I recommend using different software.

virtual dj and 2 v7's

By Robert

from New Orleans

These decks are awesome. I used to use 2 technics, a xone mixer, and a midi controller, but my setup of 2 v7's and a xone is way better. The scratching on 45's isn't hard to adjust to and there is no noticeable latency, it is easy to drop on beat while scratching. The decks are also rock solid and awesome looking. All of my dj friends who have tried the decks want them. Numark is now making high quality stuff. If you use virtual dj these decks work well with virtual dj. The serato itch software is decent but not my cup of tea. Give these decks a shot.

Never Going back to Pioneers!!!

By DJ WildchildeX

from belleville nj

I have been a dj for almost twenty years. I started out using Technics 1200's. When then CD Decks started to emulate dj scratching and manipulation, I was skeptical...but open to seeing what it was all about...I ended up with a pair of Pioneer CDJ 800's which I loved....they were really good but, they're weren't perfect. The laser lenses sometimes had little issues with tracking (especially when manually rewinding maybe 15 secs of a song or more). When the NS& came out I thought wow that looks like the perfect answer..it had the feel and control of 1200's and all the features of the pioneers, but it was all one piece. So if there was any maintenance it be done i would lose out on having anything to play on. and the a year later the V7's dropped. I have two of them I sold my CDJ's and I'm happy. I Love all the features, functionality, and rugged design( they definitely feel a WHOLE lot sturdier than my CDJ's.

Could become a new industry standard

By Phillys Phamous

from Philadelphia, PA

I've always been skeptical when it comes to the evolution of the turntable. As a vinyl spinner for the past 20 years, I skipped the CD turntable revolution and jumped straight to Serato Scratch Live in 2006. Always loved turntabelism and everything it stands for. Because the V7 uses a true 45" vinyl, slipmat, and motorized torque that Technic 1200 DJ's are used to, this was an instant hit for me! I felt right @ home scratching and controlling my digital library as I would on my 1200. The construction is solid as if the unit is already in it's own Odyssey case! The controls and features way surpassed expectations. I would love for Serato to either upgrade the Itch program or @ least allow this unit to work with Scratch Live. Although the Itch is just a very basic Dj program, it still offers useful features as analyzing files while mixing live, virtual needle dropping, smart lops, and the ability to go from an 8 pitch range to 50 pitch range while still being able to scratch and blend perfectly with the visual sync display. The added bonus is being able to control both decks with just one unit using the built in Deck Select switch! Overall I give the Numark V7 5 STARS. I Can't wait to grab my second one :-)

V7 is the Turntable evolved

By Mario Valencia

from Tucson Arizona

My first impression was that these are well built hardware that do not feel anything like other controllers that resemble toys. The V7 is very durable and all the keys are the perfect size and is very well placed. I enjoy the fact that the only time Im touching the Laptop is to turn on and off the computer. Scrolling through files is a breeze. I have used Turntables for over five years and the controls on the V7 are natural and very crisp. The only downside is the watered down Software Serato Itch. I have had a few issues of instability and have been spoiled with all the jam packed features of Traktor. I hope the V7 works on Traktor soon but as far as the V7 its a very good investment and I believe will be an Icon like the Technic 1200 and later there CD 800s
