Purchased this as a door buster at guitar center I'm Black Friday. I waited until Christmas to use it which was a challenge. I also purchased one for my bandmate as well so we could each go back and listen to vinyl records including the ones we produced ourselves in the late 1980's. It's turned out to be a great portable turntable. The battery is excellent and i've noticed that it can last for hours of continuous use. For those reviewer's who are complaining about the lack of a power cable, that makes no sense because everyone of us carries a cell phone with the USB charger these days. I just keep USB cable with me and use the same charger that I use for my phone and can quickly charge this turn and can quickly charge this turntable. I also purchased the Alesis Transactive PA as a companion piece. I can plug a USB cable into the Alesis, and maintain a charge. Both are battery operated and I anticipate using them this summer outside by the pool. The sound quality is top notch. It is obviously not the type of system that audiophile would use, but for every day listing of your final collection vinyl collection, it works very well. I can't say enough about the portability because I've been bringing it to work with me at night and playing records for my fellow staff members. It is absolutely enjoyable to watch how the younger generation response to records. Internal speakers are not the best and will distort if you crank it to see volume. Yet they are quite functional and sounds fine when you use the unit at a normal volume. The only modification I made was to install a small wire to keep the lid from going all the way back. Feels like if you're not careful when you open the lid that it could possibly get loose over time.

I purchased this turntable in hopes of using it to transfer old records to the computer. However, after unpacking it and reading the info that came with it, I saw that you have to buy a 78 rpm stylus separate. Also, it says that there is an AC power adapter, but it only has the USB cable. It should also have the AC adapter that the USB cable can plug into. After calling Guitar Center's 800 number about this and asking if I could return it, they said to just take it to the local Guitar Center. The local Guitar Center took it back and was very nice about it. No problem with Guitar Center. But, they should mention in their info about this turntable that these parts are not supplied.

Comments about Numark PT-01 Touring Record Player:

The description on the website falsely states that the turntable includes an AC adapter. It does not. In order to power, or charge the unit, you must connect it to a computer, or buy an AC adapter with a USB option. Also, it sounds really bad when the volume is increased beyond the 12 o'clock position.

Comments about Numark PT-01 Touring Record Player:

I bought this on sale off the website. This unit is a gateway to vinyl that can give you access to music without the annoying commercials from online music services, aps, or youtube. If more people actually bought music these days, maybe more of us musicians would have careers? I think about that while listening to records as I do housework or make dinner for my liberated wife.

What made me get this unit, was that I realized going the used route could end me up with a non-functional unsupported record player. This unit works great out of the box after plugging it into the computer with the usb charger cable. The sound is ok, but I am sure it will sound a lot better if it is connected to a receiver and speakers. The software has no bells and whistles, but is very easy to use and works on my 10 year old laptop just fine.

Tons of features and a built in battery (although I haven't yet tested out how long it lasts..), floating platter, and durable feeling case. I can't wait to spin my first off-grid party with this bad boy!

This performs completely as described. Easy to use, decent sound, portable. One thing to be aware of. It has a ceramic rather than a magnetic cartridge. What this means is that under no circumstances should you use it to play audiophile quality, limited edition (like MFSL, Analogue Productions, etc) records. Not if you want them to remain audiophile. But for everyday records like your old vinyl and thrift store finds it's wonderful.
