These are solid headphones, with great features. Bought them to replace my Sennheiser HD212Pro set which I was on my second set. They could not keep up to the daily punishment of DJ-ing in a nightclub atmosphere. The Numark's sound great, & am getting used to the heavier weight compared to the featherlight Sennheiser's. They come with interchangelable ear cups. 1 leather, 1 velour covered, which I prefer the soft feel of & are much nicer coming out of the cold car! Three sets of interchangeable cords to cover all the bases. I prefer the coiled one in the clubs I work in. Foldable for travel, with a handy case. Was worth the drive over the river from Canada to pick these babies up! Highly recommend them for any level of DJ-ing! They sound great too!

I bought a pair of these, and they lasted less than a year. Either a short occurred in one speaker or it went dead. There is no way to take them apart to fix a short in them without completely breaking them apart. After that I got a pair of the Pioneer HDJ's and will never go back. You can fix a short in the HDJ's, although I've never had to do so. Plus the quality is in them is unmatched.

Shocking...

By Jeff Van Slyke

Comments about Numark PHX Headphones:

These are good headphones. They have lived through numerous gigs through out the past year and a half. After owning them for a year two problems began to occur. For one the audio will kick in and out and you have to twist the jack in the ear piece in order to make them work. 2 when cuing recently i tend to get a small electric shock on my neck. I don't know if this is a normal problem for these headphones but it is pretty strange and scary. I doubt all of these headphones have the same problem but that was surprising to me.

Not bad

Comments about Numark PHX Headphones:

i've had these for about 2- 2 1/2 years and used them constantly. They were used in the club every friday night and i loved them. the other reviews are pretty much right on. They are a great (low price) headphone which i would highly recommend. Just note that the highs/lows are about all you'll hear. i also just had my right ear short out which leaves me in the hunt for new headphones. so i would buy them again since i'm always using and abusing them (constant use i do take very good care of them) but i'm also going to look into my other options. i'd recommend them for anybody that wants a cheap, but pretty dependable headphone !!

Reasonable

Comments about Numark PHX Headphones:

In terms of value for money they are excellent, I can't see you being able to buy anything else of this quality for this price. Having said that they are really quite uncomfortable after quite even a short period of time - a real problem for anyone, whether you're a DJ producer or musician. Sound quality is OK, not very well balanced though, too much in the high/mid ranges. Having said that they can go pretty loud. Choice of cables and pads is great, folding design also works well. Sound isolation is nothing special but that doesn't matter if you're a DJ who just has his headphones crazy loud anyway. For budget DJ's that need something loud, compact and overall cheap, these are the ones for you. For producers, musicians or just Hi-Fi hobbyists I would definitely avoid because of their poor comfort and sound quality.

Not bad...but not good.

By DJ Silas

Comments about Numark PHX Headphones:

The sound is terribly unbalanced--way too much highs!Within DAYS of getting the PHX's, 2 of the 3 optional chords shorted out. Everything else held up well for over a year. I used them a lot too--DJing, playing drums, listening to music. The adapters are very handy. The frame has never broken on me but recently the inside of the phones shorted out and I only have 1 ear working so they're trash now. Yet, these phones held up well and they are really loud! I buy a lot of Numark and it seems they make great products but their parts are terrible.

Durable... NOT!

Comments about Numark PHX Headphones:

I bought the PHX and it has a great dynamic-range (for the price), but; After about 7-8 months, I noticed the plastic hinge was falling apart, and later it broke completely. I treat all my stuff with great care, so I was very surprised! Don't buy these headphones if you don't like things that break VERY easally! :-(

Yes, they are LOUD!

By JivetimeJimmy

from Kernersville, NC

Comments about Numark PHX Headphones:

I bought a pair of these Numark headphones expecting to hear a perfect balance of highs, mids, and lows. What I got was a very loud pair of Numark headphones that has tons of highs, and mids, but severely lacking in the bass section. With being a professional DJ I sometimes will have to match beats with just the bass lines, which with these headphones would make it very hard to do. Do believe them when they say that they are LOUD, because they ARE! They are very loud, but without bass which makes these headphones useless to me. I'm sending these back for a nice set of Denon headphones. Hate to have to cut these down, but they're just not worth the price that you have to pay for them.

They're great

By alpha-prime

from marina del rey, CA

Comments about Numark PHX Headphones:

One problem I have always had with headphones is that eventually, from all the bending and twisting, the wires split or even break, diminishing the signal to the magnets. These feature a plug and screw in method that solves that problem and with the extra pads and cables, you really can't go wrong. There are better headphones out there but not in this price range!

Comments about Numark PHX Headphones:

Best value by far.Sound is comparable to Sony mdr v700.The quality is questionable because it is Numark, but they have been getting better with age. I recommend it.
