Overview

The advanced Numark NDX400 Scratch MP3/CD player also plays from a USB flash drive for cutting-edge performance. Numark's Anti-Shock buffered skip-protection technology keeps music playing, even when vibrations might cause other players to skip. Three hot cues and a large scratch wheel empower your DJ creativity.

The Numark NDX400 is a flexible, slot-loading player that not only plays standard CDs, but it can also play MP3 CDs for lengthy playback from a single disc. Additionally, the unit can play from a USB flash drive for even more music-format flexibility. For easily navigating through folders on MP3 CDs and USB flash drives, the NDX400 has an easy-to-read text display.

The Numark NDX400 player has advanced braking for vinyl-style stopping of playback, and a reverse mode that enables you to incorporate even more special vinyl effects. A Master Tempo button holds the original key while you adjust pitch. The player also offers 3 hot cue points for quick access to key points in the track.

The Numark NDX400 features seamless looping for creating and integrating loops in instant remixes. Single, continuous, and programmable playback modes enable you to control playback order and create custom playlists. The NDX400 also has fader start, which starts the NDX400 playing when you move the crossfader on a compatible mixer.

I'm very pleased with this CD player so far. I got a lot of features that I wanted for the money that I spent. I wish that it had effects on it, and the braking function is barely adequate, but that's OK. The scratching is better than I expected; better than scratching on belt drive turntables, but a few notches below scratching on 1200's/Pioneer CD players. I love the fact it has a USB connection and that it can play CD-RW's. If you don't have $700 or more to spend on a Pioneer, it would definitely be worth your while to take a look at this CD player.

Small, seemingly sturdy, lots of features.. etc etc. A good value for the price. The problem is that one of mine has developed a faulty drive that won't fully take in a disc and has to be totally reset before it will. Eject it, try to put in another, same issue. Pretty weak and renders the whole thing useless. The other is working just fine. The funny thing is how little these have been used. They've really just been sitting around for months and months since being purchased and having a few home sessions done on them. Proceed with caution. You really may be better off not gambling on getting a lemon or not and dropping more money on some higher quality units. Though, with the current sale, these are practically disposable. Your call!

Amazing for the money

By Rob M.

from Houston Texas

Comments about Numark NDX400 Tabletop Scratch CD Player:

I used to be a DJ that strictly used records... well about 7 years later now, I went to my first rave since that time and saw that everyone was flipping disks. So I just had to get a set of these and try them out. I bought a pair of these, a numark M3 mixer and a couple speakers and I am blown away at the features, and feel of these little CD players. They are quite responsive, but scratching does NOT feel natural to me. Looping feature is nice. BPM metering is worthless, but if you need that to beat match and mix, you are barking up the wrong tree anyways. All in all, these CD decks have really impressed me, especially for the price. A great value, well designed and thought out, and easy on the eyes. Displays are bright and easy to read. If you are playing burned disks it will read out the track name. Well done to numark! I highly recommend these to anyone wanting to get the feel of DJing without records!

Excellent for the price!

Comments about Numark NDX400 Tabletop Scratch CD Player:

I just got these turntables earlier this evening and I must say I am impressed. Everything works very well and the unit feels solid. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't seem to read mp3 metadata and just shows the filename. Other than that I have zero complaints! I would highly recommend these to anyone interested in mixing tracks with cds and/or mp3s that are not interested in Serato/Itch and can't afford the really expensive decks.

This mug is roll-ing!!!

By DJ Tru Skool

Comments about Numark NDX400 Tabletop Scratch CD Player:

I got an NDX400 as a back up turntable when my Stanton c314 and c324's keep dying on me. The Stantons work for about 2 years then they stop reading. Well, I might just buy 2 NDX400s and get rid of my Stantons because these little 400s do the same thing. The 400 has 3 sample buttons instead of 4. The 400s don't have the efx. Other than that, the 400 is good enough. And they are smaller and lighter. I will probably use a Stanton/NDX combo until I decide to get another 400. But, it is a good little player. Reads and scratches flash drives. Works with Serato Scratch Live. Lots of illumination. Jog wheel feels nice.

Very nice decks...Price Is A Definate Plus!!

By Disco Roadie

from Chicago Illinois

Comments about Numark NDX400 Tabletop Scratch CD Player:

Very nice decks. I bought 2 of them recently and use them to play live and to make house mixes. I have had them for about a month and have started to use all of the features to enhance my mixes such as the 3 hot cues and the master tempo to keep the integrity of the original song intact. The Flash Drive input is very nice and the loop feature is accurate and easy to employ. The BPM Counter is somewhat accurate, as many songs have fluctuating BPM's, particularily older songs..like disco/house cuts. The readout on the display is bright and the illumination of the entire deck is also great to use in club dj booths where lighting may be minimal. Overall, this is a nice deck and for the month that I have had it, there are no complaints around these parts....just in case, I opted for the extended warranty from Guitar Center for about 45 bucks for each NDX 400!

Great performance and features for the money

By Marcos Carpizo

from St Louis, MO

Comments about Numark NDX400 Tabletop Scratch CD Player:

I'm not a scratch DJ. If you are, these are probably not for you. They will allow you to do the occasional flair scratch drop though, just to let people know there is a dj. The rest of the unit is top notch. I've done 2 shows with them so far and I've been able to do just about everything I've done before with CDJ1000s. They are extremelly responsive and accurate and, best of all. Very down to Earth when it comes to the layout. They make you feel very comfortable right away. I needed something compact because my booth is very small, but don't judge these things by their size. They are very capable cd players and perform like top of the line units. I would definetly recommend them if you are thinking about purchasing them.

Absolute JUNK!!!

By DJ Life

Comments about Numark NDX400 Tabletop Scratch CD Player:

Given the reviews, i picked up a set to use as a back up. They were returned 3 days later. They feel cheap, they work cheap, and they are for recreational beginners MAYBE. Not for any type of professional.

Great except for one thing...

By Trent Fitzgerald

from Clovis, CA

Comments about Numark NDX400 Tabletop Scratch CD Player:

Everything is great! Except when I go past an hour on a pre-recorded mix (not live), it stops playing after about 45 minutes... and no matter what, it won't continue! But the only reason this didn't get a one star from me is because everything else is so good, it is almost worth not being able to go past 45 minutes...
