Overview

MIXTRACK is a powerhouse controller in a compact chassis for performing and producing with DJ software. The familiar layout works just like two decks and a mixer, so whether you're a seasoned professional or building your DJ skills, MIXTRACK is easy to learn and handles advanced techniques. It's portable so you can grab MIXTRACK and your laptop and go to wherever the gig is.

Familiar Layout
MIXTRACK has two deck controller sections with large touch-activated jog wheels and transports controls. Whether you're used to a CD player, turntables, or any other traditional DJ hardware, you'll find getting around easy. The center of MIXTRACK's surface is its mixer section with a smooth crossfader, line faders, deck EQs, and more advanced controls for looping and effects.

Fully Equipped, MIDI Compliant
MIXTRACK comes with the powerful DJ software, which makes it easy to mix your favorite music. Virtual DJ LE comes standard in North and South America.* Both applications integrate with your iTunes library for playback and mixing of songs. Regardless of which software it comes with, MIXTRACK lets you create professional sounding mixes at home or at live performances at parties, functions and clubs. Full MIDI compliance means MIXTRACK will also work with virtually any MIDI-mappable music software.

* Native Instruments' Traktor LE is included in Europe and Asia only.

Easy USB Connection
MIXTRACK connects to your Mac or PC as a class-compliant USB device so it requires no software drivers to work, and USB powers it so you won't need an external supply.

I bought this with the intention of practicing in my room, or taking it to the local coffee shop where I'm at most of the time. I bought an NI Audio 2 Dj specifically for this for Traktor (I usually run SSL). I like the feel of the jogs, and it far exceeds my needs for what I'm going to use it for. Price is unheard of, although I wish it was a bit more sturdier (mostly plastic). Buttons are really responsive with Traktor LE. I'll need more time with it to base a better decision though. For the price, I really coudn't say no to it (Save up for either the Stereo IO or the Audio 2 DJ soundcard. . .it's not included.). Overall, needs (very minor) work, but I don't see a bad thing about the Mixtrack as of yet.

IT will do the job for now. IT is easy to use. The Virtual Dj LE program not a good program, alot of restrictions. It does not allow you to make play list, it does not let you hear the music with a headset and the speakers at the same time, some of the button from the computer program are not in the mixer. you will have to buy the pro version if you want to use the full potential of this mixer. On the mixer its self, no place to plug the headphone. the USB cable does not detach from the mixer, Future problem where it might brake. Like I say it does the job for now till more money comes. Hope you like it.

Just what I was looking for...

By Mike "DJ BOSS"

Comments about Numark MIXTRACK DJ Controller:

I've been a Dj for over 13yrs. I started on the Tech 1200's, moved to CD's, and now have been using Traktor Pro for about 3 yrs. The MixTrack works well with it. You will need a pretty fast computer. It connects by USB, and uses alot of the CPU. You will need to adjust the Latency. The wheels are sensative when in scratch mode. So if you like to scratch a lot, it may work for you. Easy to pitch control your tracks. Very lightweight. I do recommend a flight case for it though. I don't see this unit lasting long if you are a mobile dj.

Certainly well worth the price

By GBrown

Comments about Numark MIXTRACK DJ Controller:

The salesman at Guitar in Fred VA was tellng me how a lot of people who purchased this was bringing it back due to the platters being to stiff when back spinning. I'm new to djaying (not playing music in a musical way) and I wouldn't know the difference. However, what I do know is value when I see it. I thought the device would be to toy-like for my taste but I digress. The unit, although plastic it feels pretty solid and the small light show from the buttons is certainly a good look. The device works well with Traktor and does it exactly what it should do, give you more physical controll over your dj software. It's a great introduction into the digital world of djaying.

If you are thinking of buying PLEASE READ THIS

Comments about Numark MIXTRACK DJ Controller:

THINK NO FURTHER..JUST BUY IT The Numark Mixtrack is honestly too cheap for what it offers. A lot of my buddys bought midi controllers for 250 and 400 which offers LESS than what this can do. The only hassle I had was buying a sound card so i can plug in my headphones but i worked a few wonders and i got a Audio 2 Dj soundcard for 30$. This controller offers 3 effects to put on your sounds, increase the speed or slow down the spead, the very very very very helpful stutter button which i love to use when i transition to the next song. The scratching on this is marvelous. Honestly I am a beginner, I actually did 2 house parties with this and people thought i was a professional and asked how much i get paid for what i do!?

Awesome Controller.

By J

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Numark MIXTRACK DJ Controller:

As a beginner DJ, this controller has given me complete latitude to play around with all of the basic functionality. I'm running it with VirtualDJ and it's a powerful and great experience. I can't see needing anything else until I want to do mostly professional gigs or drop a lot of cash and get an NS7, cause they're so pretty. For 150 it's a steal. Highly Recommended.

Good One

Comments about Numark MIXTRACK DJ Controller:

Just bought this yesterday and I must say...it makes my Numark Total Control DJ turntables look amateurish. The price on this AND the Mixtrack Pro should be jacked up because not everyone deserves to DJ for 150 dollars. This is basically a DJ workstation to go as a MIDI device. Exactly what I need. The ability to scratch, pull back, and auto sync with the "Stutter" button is beyond great. Can't wait to spin this off in 2011

Brand name and a affordable price a winning combination

By James aka DJ Bond James Bond

Comments about Numark MIXTRACK DJ Controller:

I was recently at a cookout for my Sister and her Husband 3rd Wedding Anniversary he had a Vestax Typhoo with powered speakers and a Laptop mixing music. I never really paid any attention to any DJ setup when I went out to clubs; I was used to seeing CDJۡs and Turntables. So a Midi controller mixing and scratching tracks caught my attention. Back in the day I used to spin records at house parties etc, had the standard at those time, 2 turntables a Gemini mixer 15ۡݕ_ speakers you know the drill. But that was back in the early 80ۡs. My brother in law told me he purchased his Vestax Typhoo from a Guitar Center in Union NJ. When I got home I had checked out the Guitar Center website. Done a little research on what is a Midi Dj controller drove down to a Guitar Center in E. Brunswick NJ spoken with a sales man asked him about both the Hercules which was on sale for 99 dollars and the Numark Mixtrack. I went with the Mixtrack mainly because of the product name and the size of the unit itself. The Hercules was somewhat small and more toy looking than the Mixtrack. With that being said, I will start with the Con first and there is only one. Since the Mixtrack is an entry level unit and is geared for the Dj newbieۡs, at a very affordable price one would think that Native Instruments Traktor LE would have came with a little more comprehensive instruction on how to thoroughly use its software. Other than mixing, scratching, sound effects and looping music which function and use are intuitive. There is not anything on the ADVANCE PANEL function, couldnۡt find anything on what it is and how to work it. I went through hours of YouTube videos dissecting on how effectively use the Mixtrack features, finally found something on its use and function. But that is my only gripe, the unit work as well as intended I donۡt see myself using it other than at a family outing or home with friends having a good time. I would recommend this for anyone who want to get into DJaying as a start, itۡs a good looking unit an affordable price with a brand name. Kudos to Guitar Center and Numark.

BE SURE OF YOUR SOFTWARE!!!

By Jbrent (dj bLACK.iCE)

from Salt Lake City, Utah

Comments about Numark MIXTRACK DJ Controller:

This is absolutley perfect for beginers like myself. Just be sure you get the software that suits you best. Although it says it only comes with Virtual DJ in North America, mine actually came with Traktor. I had used a home version of Virtual DJ prior to buying the MixTrack, so I was used to the way it functioned. Trying to switch to Tracktor was more than I wanted to deal with. Luckily, the guys at GC were more than cooperative and let me bring the unit back and get a new one with Virtual DJ software. This controller is so user friendly, I spent the entire weekend (I bought it on a Friday) mixing and beatmatching as if I had been doing it for years. I would reccomend this to anyone looking to get started without having to spend a ton of money.

works better with traktor pro

By Julian

from bossier city, la

Comments about Numark MIXTRACK DJ Controller:

if you get this make sure you already have traktor pro 1.2. or virtual dj 6.x as these two automatically configure mixtrack. if not you will spend an afternoon setting up your midi controls. over all this unit works well when everything is setup to your taste. cant find a controller this good for the price.

Good Controller For Beginners.

By JC

Comments about Numark MIXTRACK DJ Controller:

Easy setup. Easy to use. Wish it had a headphone jack output.I would recommend this product especially for the price. Also wish I was able to record my work, but due to copyrights unable to use the recording feature on the software that came with the controller. Overall got more than what I paid for.
