The Numark M6 USB is great Buy, If you are a club DJ and you can't afford a Rane Mixer this mixer is great to hook up for the club. The crossfader. It is a powerful mixer; a little big but not heavy at all. Can't record with SL1 ( Scratch Live 1 interface) but I use a aux cord and plug the cord into the mic and the red and white cords I plug into to The recorder on the back of the M6, The headphones cue on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd say 7.5. This mixer is great for a club/DJ.

Noisy unit

By Mark

from San Ramon, CA

Comments about Numark M6 USB DJ Mixer:

The M6 - needed a 4 channel mixer with mic talkover for a gig, setup was easy, however the unit has major noise issues Mic talkover hums at any level, -4db loss when talkover is on but not active. Channel inputs are noisy also, audible hum with muted input. at unity gain. Same setup with Mackie VLZ pro 1402, and even a Behringer 502 has no issues, no noise.

WOW

By james BEASLEY

Comments about Numark M6 USB DJ Mixer:

I bought this mixer to use for an open dj forum in a small dive bar and man this thing has held up. It has been moved around lots (to and from gigs), spilled on and left in the freezing cold in my trunk cause I was too lazy to move it and it still somehow works a year later. I bought my refurbished and now they are even cheaper. If you are looking for something super simple and cheap buy this. You could buy 5 of these and not spend what you would on some others.

I use it for home studio monitor control

Cons

Comments about Numark M6 USB DJ Mixer:

I use this to bring all my audio sources to my studio monitors. It works well and the sound is clean and clear. Those who say it colors the sound do not have good monitors or amplification. The USB port works well and I use it to record and playback. It is handy to have the "booth" mix to run and extra set of monitors to check mixes between monitors. The only thing I wish it had was an EQ off switch on each channel, but for the price this is a hard piece to beat. Kinda like a swiss army knife for cheap.

Comments about Numark M6 USB DJ Mixer:

The Numark M6 USB is one of my favorite mixers that I've had in a while. Overall its a very simple and solid 4 channel mixer, with line/phono for all channels. It's best feature is a usb enabled soundcard that is built into the mixer, and works for both playing and recording by simply plugging a usb cable into Windows, Mac or Linux (I've tried all three). It's pretty rugged, and has XLR outputs that allow me to plug it directly into my PA system - no additional mixers needed. It's really a good system for bedroom DJs, and people who throw amateur events.

This mixer has two disadvantages that would make it ill suited for professional clubs. It completely lacks effect controls and send/receive channels, so you can't interface it with a Kaoss pad, compressor, or other sound effect device. The other small complaint I have about it is that it almost imperceptibly simplifies the sound, most likely due to some sort of internal digital to analog conversion.

It's not a fancy mixer, but its my favorite out of the few I've had or used regularly. It's really well suited for a living room.

Eveyrthing located above the cross fader is GREAT!

      By Byron Wilkinson

      from Texas

Comments about Numark M6 USB DJ Mixer:

I am a turntablist and found this mixer to be a great performer as far as for mixing purposes. On the flipside of things the cross fader is by far the weakest link of this unit. It can't handle the stress in the heat of "Battle". In closing its great for sraight mix djing but don't take it to the battlefield.

Comments about Numark M6 USB DJ Mixer:

My behringer vmx1000 board went out after having it for 2 years. This board was affordable and has a whole lot more features than my last board. It's well worth getting this mixer, don't be hesitant buy it and you will see how incredible this piece of equipment is.

Numark M6 USB is not "Saucy" enough.

      By Steven Kveton

      from Chicago, IL

Comments about Numark M6 USB DJ Mixer:

Okay first off, If you're a beginner DJ who doesn't care much about crisp and clear sound and Saucy EQ. That's right I just said saucy. Then this is the mixer for you. For me however, a person who cares about sound quality, this is not the mixer for me. It's built well and has a professional feel, but not sound. I currently use this mixer with the Numark V7's which are great pieces of hardware. back to the M6 usb, It is decent for learning to scratch do to the cut setting on the crossfader, however twiddling, and crab scratching is impossible because the fader cut point is too far away the fader is too stiff. But that can be replaced with an innofader pro. The biggest flaw with the mixer is its unnatural sound quality and the slope of the line faders and EQ knobs. Most club standard DJ mixers will have a even gradual fade on the faders and knobs, however this mixer's not like this at all. When adjusting the bass knob, the bass will not start to really reduce untill it is almost all the way turned toward zero. This mixer was designed to work like this. Which for the common DJ is an unwanted thing. Looking to maybe buy numark's x5 mixer because it has a remarkable fader for scratching and slope adjustable line faders and cross fader. If you're into Numark mixer's, I recommend the Numark X5. The X7 would be nice but Numark decided not to release it for some illegitimate reason.

Comments about Numark M6 USB DJ Mixer:

just bought this because i needed a descent mixer and it has 4 channels which is great for any mobile dj and comes with a usb for recording the price is unbeatable for this mixer con -- it could of had some effects built in but numark is a pretty good company and better than behringer and gemini for sure
