The Numark CDX Direct-Drive CD Turntable was designed to fulfill the dream of harnessing digital sound with the irreplaceable feel of working with vinyl. The CDX lets you do anything with CDs that you can do with records, all the while giving you the feel of a genuine turntable.
Why does CDX feel so real? Because it is built with the same ultrahigh-torque direct-drive motor as Numark's flagship TTX, complete with 12" vinyl and slipmat. The vinyl feel just doesn't get more real than this. Play the CDX and it'll make a believer out of you.

Even though Numark no longer makes these, to date there has been no better vinyl emulation out on the market. I've read some gripes on the other reviews & cant say they're totally wrong, but I've had different results. I own 2 and am looking for a 3rd. Works perfectly with Serato Scratch Live and also plays cd/mp3/wav, etc., Spindle can be easily modified for even more perfect Vinyl feel. I'll admit that occasionally they'll freeze up upon power on, but after a re-boot or 2 they have ALWAYS come back in perfect working order. If your an old school DJ, then these are the ones you want. Add some scratch live and some ableton to these and its a wrap! They're also not too complicated to take apart, interchange parts, modify, if your so inclined. All in all, they dont make 'em like this anymore, and I really wish they did. They do weigh bout 15 lbs, but mine have been rock solid going on 4 years now. -DJ Hoe
I love these turn tables. Never have to worry about needles skipping. Don't have to carry big crates of records. Has the exact same feel as vinyl but are lighter than tech 12's and they have great effects.
I love these cd descks and i hate them. Im a mixtape and clun dj in washington dc. Its great for scratching, too unreliable. In the middle of djing at a club, i dont know if there gonna work or play every song. In 2 yrs, i had to send them back once. And finally this weekend...1 turntable wouldnt play anything...and when it did..it would skip like crazy. So now im being some other ones... these tables give too much of a headache
So far so good no problems, only that it wont read cheap cds all the time, get a good brand of cds if you want to keep on rockin. So far no problems with them at all. I do suggest djs who want to start up with the real feel of vinyl should grab a pair or just one. You will be begging to get another. I love my pair and i have been on Techinic 1200s for over 25 years and this is the only thing that comes close. Big ups to NUMARK for keeping the cutting edge alive.
I've had my CDX's for about a year and I've had to replace the laser/transport twice on one of the tabels and three times on the other. I hate these tables b/c they would be great if they worked. I've talked with seven other owners and all agree. I feel so passionately about this that I feel the need to write this. Don't listen to anyone else's comments, DON'T BUY THE CDX's unless you want to spend another 1000 dollars trying to fix and refix and refix them forever. DONT DO IT PLEASE.
The Numark CDx is great, worth every penny. Tho I wasn't inform it also plays MP3 format cd, makes it even better.
