I had bought this mixer to replace my dxm06 numark mixer and to upgrade from two faders to three. This mixer worked great for maybe 6-8 months and then the crossfader began to bleed. They trick you with the warranty saying you get a one year warranty, but what they dont tell you is that in the fine print that does NOT include the fader. So now i was stuck with a fader that bleeds. I fixed that by removing and cleaning the fader and that worked for a few weeks and then i had to clean again, then repeat, until i had enough and purchased the ttm 57 rane mixer which has a much better magnetic crossfader which the say is impossible to bleed. One thing i did love about the x9 however was the effects processor. Its real easy to use and sounds awesome. they should have put a better quality crossfader in this mixer because if they did maybe i would still have mine.
I went with Numark products because I can't afford a Rane, Pioneer, or any other high end mixer. But as they say, you get what you pay for. With that being said, 1st off, I was VERY happy with the effects processor. It opened up my creativity in transitioning and remixing songs. Also, the middle channel with the 2nd mic option was great for me in that I could use that for my mic inputs. (The stand alone mic input was poor quality) Disappointments: For the price STILL?! The crossfader SUCKS!!!! That sucker started to bleed in like 4 months or LESS! I got around that by cleaning it and/or adjusting the crossfader slope to an even (straight down the middle) setting. Now as of 3/8/2011 (3 days b4 a gig) its doing some random crap where after 10-20 secs of turning it on, it goes haywire! The lights on it freezes, the effects stopped working, the crossfader does not respond to which side you are playing a song, nothing... Numark has nice ideas for options and setup for DJs but the quality sucks.. Now I have to scramble to find a cost effective mixer because guess what.. My warranty has expired... :(
I also have problems with the crossfader bleeding. Always been a fan of numark products, but if they cant step up to build solid products. im going to have to go with pioneer or rane!!! or at least honor your warranty!
