I work for my own dj company and am busy with about 3 events every month. When I looked into getting into DJing a year ago I knew I wanted a mixer/controller in one and wanted to use my huge music library on my labtop so this was perfect! Its a bit small and the scratch pads are mostly just for finding your way through a track, although I occasionally used them to scratch. The knobs are tight and I like how the buttons light up when pressed. I still haven't upgraded to the full version of traktor as I am a simple DJ, i just play what people want and fade in and out with simply cross over effects, works great! No problems, only two cables to get this to work and have no complaints! As a first time DJ I do recommend this to others starting out as its a professional, high quality mixer/controller that does almost everything you need it to do. Traktor is a nice program and this is a great mixer to get yourself started!
It has been a year now, since I have owned the OMNI Controller. For the most part, it operates good. Lately, it seems to have mood swings beyond my control. I decided to play with this at home before I converted to fully digital deejaying. Since I work at a bar, I figured it would be a great tool to use for live mixing. It was until recently. First off, my laptop has no programs extra on it that would cause such drama. First, if you leave Traktor stationary for a few minutes, 2 things may happen. The OMNI will lock up (the traktor will go into default screen and the song will play for about 5-10 seconds before it shuts off) and 2: the songs will play this static-y hissing sound on all tracks. I've had to shut down OMNI to reboot. Other times, TRKTOR decides to shut down in the middle of mixing. I haven't figured that one out yet. Also, my right side play button stopped working. so I have to make sure I have enough time to mix out when it does decide to play. And finally, I've had to invest in a pack of vinyl bumpers (the plastic "feet" that hold system up) since after a month of using it at the bar, the feet started coming off! Also, make sure your volume knobs are tweaked before you start your set. The volume will jump 4 or 5 decibels if you slightly turn up the volume during live playing. I've seen patrons literally jump because the volume raised so loud! I thought a $350 system would be built better than this. Other than these things, the OMNI works good. I'm looking to upgrade! I can't deejay a gig with these uncertainties.

Worked with Traktor LE or Traktor 3 and OSX 10.5.6 flawlessly. The product appears sturdy and well built. The pitch slider and jog wheels are easy to adapt to and work well (only mixed vinyl until now).
However, using the built in eq's and faders isn't an option (for me anyways). For one, it's too tight and your hands can easily bump the jog wheel while mixing. Also, using traktor to crossfade and eq is awful. I imagine this is the case with all controllers. It just can't compare to a regular analog mixer
Luckily, you can route out each deck to your regular mixer and use that to mix and the omni control to beat match. I'm happy with the purchase as I can use the same mixer for the omnicontrol and turntables. If you've never mixed before, you might not mind but if you're used to analog dj mixers, just route it to your mixer.
