  The Mixdeck express is what I've been waiting for. I'm not ready to fully give up my CDs yet as a mobile DJ, but I want to be able to transition to computer-based DJing slowly, and the Mixdeck Express is perfect for that. The original Mixdeck's drawback was a lack of a second microphone input, and that was a huge oversight to a Mobile DJ like me. The Mixdeck Express's layout is intuitive and easy to use as just a CD Player/Mixer combo, especially if you've already been using dual CD players for 20 years like me. I love the scroll knob for selecting tracks. It's just like my Denon CD player's, so I was already used to it. Plugged in two different brands of USB drives, and the Mixdeck express found them right away and was able to read the mp3 music on them. It did not read any itunes AAC files, so that was a bit of a bummer. I'm not a "Scratchin" DJ, so I don't have any experience with that, so I found the scrathing feature on the platters cool, but I probably won't use that feature other than for just a special effect here and there. The loop buttons work really well, and they truly are seamless and easy to use. I love the slot loading CD players. They are fast loading, but not instant loading, but it's about the same as other CD players I've used. Hooked it up to the computer, and it connected easily to the provided Virtual DJ software with no problems. You can use the scratching and brake effects with these computer tracks if you want. The ease with which I can now load songs onto the computer/Mixdeck express is sweet. I CAN see that I'm going to have to reorganize my computer music into better folders to make computer DJing easier, which is one of the reasons I still have my CDs. I'm always working, so I don't have enough time to rip all those CDs! Hooked the Mixdeck up to some powered speakers, and it sounds great, with good EQ adjustments. For smaller gigs or ceremonies, this would be all I would need. For the price, I'm very happy with it. Two things would improve it. 1) XLR microphone inputs, or at least one of them XLR. 2) I wish the cross fader on the Mixdeck express would control the cross fader on the computer. If you're one of those bad ass club DJs, this is probably not the right product for you. But if you're a mobile who just wants to have everything in every format at your fingertips, this is sweet.

• Smooth As Silk...

  I had a NuMark CD Mix2, and I upgraded to this baby. I am not the most computer savy person in the world, but my wife had recently bought me a new business laptop, and I wanted a new mixer to go computerized. Once I found what I was looking for we price matched with Guitar Center no PROBLEM! Took it home, hooked up my computer to it, loaded the software and started to "Play" with it. I called for some help with one or two VERY EASY things, and once I talked to the right guy at customer service at NuMark, I did what he said, and played with my new toy and got the hang of it pretty quick! I moved all my music from my desk top to the lap top, and have done two gigs with it. I used a couple of CD's, and I used the thumb drive feature as well. It's a sweet mixer/controller, and I love it. I have never really scratched before, don't intend too except to cover up foul words on occasion. The more I play with it and practice the more I like it! I'm not thrilled with the sound cuing the next tune to play, not very loud in the head set, but I am sure I'll figure it out soon enough. Having a blast with it so far! Great Deal and I found cheaper, and they price matched NO PROBLEM!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GUITAR CENTER ALWAYS!!!!!
