The Mixologists' Secret Weapon

I have been DJing for over 30 years. I spin old-school tracks from all genres. The user-friendly features contained on the CDN 88 allow me to present to my audience new concepts of old school music that leaves them wondering, "how did he do that" after saying, "wow, I haven't heard that in a long time! That was the jam!" The seamless loops and 3 hot spots allow me to rearrange tracks to a point where I can create whole new concepts in music. The handling of the jogwheel may take a little practice in mastering, but, the end result is phenominal. I love the mastertempo feature. This feature allows you to slow down or speed the music up to 100%, without effecting the pitch of the music. This function can allow you to create some pretty freaky sound effects with a little practice (and knowledge of your tracks.) You can adjust the unit to suit your mixing style. The cueing is awesome as you can pinpoint the exact spot where you want to drop your mix. The built in special effects are helpful, when not overused. I don't care that you can't store your cue points for later use (as with the CDN 90), as this allows me full freedom to not sound the same every time I play "that" song. To me, this unit has the best bang for the buck. I own the original CDN 88 (Red Unit). I heard there was a recall because of a glitch in the beatkeeper, (replaced by the Black Unit), I did'nt respond and I'm still satisfied with my decision. I am in my 7th year with my unit. I think I'm ready to replace her with another CDN 88. I'm nice with vinyl, but I'm "Tha Man" with the Numark CDN 88!

I love this thing

I have worked with the cdn88 for a few years now...actually learned how to mix on it. It's very easy to learn, and the features and effects are perfect for the dj that wants to drop a live mix and really rock the crowd. I would choose the cdn88 over the more expensive cdn90 anyday...the soft buttons really give you full control if you wanna stutter your mix...the cdn88 allows even a beginner to lace seamless mixes with great ease. Although, I wouldn't recommend them for the turntable dj's who like to scratch. You can scratch on them, but not very well and it is very difficult.

Easy to use! SICK!!!

I'm a mobile mixer with a couple of djs I've trained to do the same. These are easy to learn on, even easier to teach on! I leave the system with my djs and the next day they got it handled!! Its paid for itself over and over!

My favorite deck in 17 years

I got mine in 2001, and since purchased Denon 6000, 4500, and Mac/Serato Scratch. I still go back to this deck as most reliable, and best tools. Only 2 things keeping this from being a 5.0. no mp3 capability, and after about 4years, the rubber jog wheels get a little gooey and stick to your fingertips. I love this player! Mine's red!
