Novation TWITCH is a DJ controller with a completely new take on DJing. It has Touchstrips to navigate tracks and you can slice-up your beats and mix them back together totally on the fly. TWITCH has a built in audio interface which is absolutely rock-solid with high-level headphone and main outputs.
Take hold of your music
TWITCH has Touchstrips; simply grab your tracks and swipe them backwards and forwards like a touchscreen. The performance modes create totally new ways to manipulate beats and breaks. The control surface - with its 2 x 8 large Triggerpads and Fader FX - opens up awesome possibilities for digital DJs and the new breed of Controllerists.
Novation TWITCH comes with Serato ITCH powerful DJ software that only works with select hardware controllers. As well as being rock-solid and simple to use, ITCH has totally new performance tools that take digital DJing to the next level. TWITCH has been developed with Serato to put ITCHs full potential right at your fingertips. It also maps to other DJ software like Traktor and Ableton.
Slice-up your tracks
‘Performance Modes’ let you get hands-on with ITCH’s most powerful tools. The ‘Slicer Mode’ on TWITCH uses ITCH’s powerful ‘Beatgrids’ system to chop sections of your track into eight equal slices. You can then re-arrange these on the fly without falling out of time, creating totally new grooves.
In Hot Cues mode you can set 8 cue-points and re-start the track at any of those points, allowing you to jump around your track at the touch of a button. The 8-button grid can also be used to trigger loops of different lengths using Autoloop & Loop Roll modes. Autoloops can be saved with the track so you can rehearse routines and load them on stage.
Professional and Portable
TWITCH is designed for performing, so we made it tough and compact enough to carry from gig to gig. It has an aluminium top panel and is small enough to be carried with your laptop. Its modest size means it will slot into tight spaces in DJ booths and on stage.
TWITCH includes an ultra reliable 2-in 4-out USB audio interface with high-level/low-noise main and headphone outputs so it they can be connected directly to large PA systems as well as home audio set-ups with zero hum or noise. There is also a microphone input for vocalists or MCs which you can run through the effects in ITCH.
ITCH can beat sync two tracks so they are in perfect time. Or, you can beat match them manually with the Touchstrips, swiping the track backwards and forwards – just like grabbing and moving it on a touchscreen. You can also use them to speed-up or slow down the track as if you were nudging forwards or backwards.
Mixer with Fader FX
TWITCH operates in a similar way to a conventional DJ mixer. Its layout includes typical DJ mixer controls: channel faders, tone controls, trim, and a cross-fader. TWITCH also gives you total control of ITCH’s on-board FX. However, you can also assign FX to both Decks' faders, as well as rotary knobs in the FX section. This enables the kind of quick-fingered FX trickery that can only be pulled off with fader movements.
Other DJ Software
TWITCH comes with Serato's powerful ITCH DJ software, but it is also a standard MIDI controller and audio interface that works with all major DJ software including Traktor and Ableton Live*. Powerful 2- and 4-deck mappings for Traktor PRO can be downloaded at Novation's website. All the controls you need to perform have been mapped to the Touchstrips, knobs, faders and buttons on TWITCH. A free Traktor PRO overlay is included in the TWITCH box which labels what each control does. Simply place it on TWITCH to transform it into a Traktor controller with a difference.
As MIDI controller, TWITCH will currently map to Ableton Live so you can launch clips, control devices, channel levels, crossfader and more. It also has a built in audio interface making it the perfect compact Ableton DJ controller.
*Comprehensive Ableton Live control will be coming soon from Novation

After doing a lot of research on about 4 different controllers, It came down to this one. Small footprint, incredibly versatile with both traktor or serato itch. Ive taken it to burning man, many club visits and random parties. Its beast. if youre thinking about the twitch, i say DO IT!!
1. If you look through the forms there is a HUGE driver issue that plagues alot of people. Novation claims that their drivers are ITCH 2.0 Ready however after I loaded drivers I like many others found that I could not get the wave forms to load or play. Going back to vesion 1.8 was the only option to fix the issue. Finally after Hours of messing around with settings I was able to get the Twitch drivers to work on version 2.2 but I had to set my screen and usb refresh rates to the lowest settings. Nothing is worse than looking a choppy wave forms. I have a BRAND NEW 2k$ solid state 2012 Sony Viao, so dont think this probelm is a result of an old laptop. 2. Someone else wrote that the out put volumes are low and yes this is true. To get any volume if sound you have to litterly turn the volume levels to 3/4 or higher. 3. Compared to the allan & Heath Zone DX(my favorite), the Twich uses the touch pad. The Touch pad os acutally really great, when you need to tweak your songs to line up your beats, however there is no way to beatmatch and then scroll inside the song and keep your beat matching locked. Addtionally it is very difficult to go backwards in a wave file unless you DROP... or use a cue. 4. The SLICER is Awesome. Its sad that Twich is the only controller that has this feature. Novation should make a slicer that can combine with any mixer because the feature is really quite amazing. 5. Loop scrolling. If you like to create a loop and then scroll forward or backward the depth of the loop... your going to find it complicated with this unit. its easy to increase or decrease the lenght of the loop but its not so easy to STEP forward or backward in the evernt you are on the fly and miss a beat. I like this controller, its got great features, and its size is great for portability. The FX controllers are easy to use compared to most. I just wish I could get the drivers and Itch not to Bug out. There is no way I could use this professionally, because it cuts out in mid play, and I cant opperate on choppy wave forms. Its clear from all the Blogs this is a DRIVER issue and even updating to the latest drivers didnt help, and I have the same prob on 2 laptops. So if you buy it ... at least you are aware of the possible issues you might run into.
I waited anxiously for the Novation Twitch to be released. Finally, a compact, all-in-one unit that seemed to have all the features and compatibility anyone could hope for. I love this controller. It's amazing. Unless you have to use it professionally in an environment that is not your headphones or bedroom. The output volume is way too low for live, professional use. You have to increase the gain/trim way past 50% to full, increase software output headroom, and max out master volume. Novation knows that this is a problem and they responded on their forums, on Novation.com (see for yourself), to double your physical outputs though master and booth, routing both through another mixer. They even suggest buying a mini mixer to do this. They admit that this issue cannot be fixed with software or firmware update because the hardware is incapable of high volume output due to it being entirely USB powered. This is unacceptable. I purchased the Novation twitch as an all-in-one solution. I did not expect that I had to purchase, configure, manage, power, and clutter my setup with additional equipment and devices. The solutions presented by Novation admits that the Twitch is not intended for professional use. I'm past the time when I can return it. I'll try to sell it, but I don't feel good about concealing the reason for selling when people ask me why I'm selling it. I'm very upset and will post low ratings and poor reviews on novation.com, serato.com, amazon.com and guitarcenter.com Novation, fix this or replace units with an updated version for people who request it. I own a Native Instruments Kontrol S4. It's output volume is awesome. Though, it is too big to travel to gigs with, and that is why I purchased the Novation Twitch; for portability. I'm going to purchase a Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S2 and see if I can live with the size. It will definitely have better volume output.
The only work you do with this unot is install the software. This is a tru plug and play dj tool with usb power. What really makes this Twitch so great is you can set it up with Serato itch 2.0,Traktor pro 2,abelton live 8 and it works NOT like some other products claim. Every thing on this unit works hotcues, slicer, autoloop, looproll all on point. Great sound will work great at a party or even in the club. solid built ready for djs on the go or travel. (with case) So far no crash or freeze ups using Serato itch 2.0 PROS really works pro level sound. easy control layout. portable power works with usb and labtop not plugged in. exellent pad triggers spot on. pitch controll is nice +/_ 0.1 PERCENT Serato itch 2.0 is solid and great live or studio setup. can control 4 decks with Traktor 2 mic/aux can use software effects and seperate vol/cue greay value for the money. CONS no way to really cut a good scrath only 2 decks with Serato itch
Look no further. I thought the absence of the platters would be an issue but there is truly no need for them with this. I returned my VMS4 and got this. Couldn't be any more satisfied with my purchase.
