Product Information

The centerpiece of your dream workstation!

The X-Station 25 MIDI Controller combines a first-class 25-key keyboard, killer sounds, MIDI control, a MIDI interface, and mouthwatering effects in a compact, portable controller that can be powered with USB or batteries.

The Novation X-Station employs a premium-class mechanism with semi-weighted keys and aftertouch. Even novice piano players will instantly feel the difference! Aftertouch, a joystick, and the assignable X/Y touch pad controller provide you with extra dimensions of expression for your performances.

Audio and MIDI Interfaces

Novation X-Station includes a fully featured audio interface with two phantom-powered, high-quality converters, two Neutrik combined XLR and 1/4" inputs, digital S/PDIF out, plus much more. The X-Station's dedicated headphone and monitoring connections with separate controls even allow you to work without a mixer. The onboard DSP effects processor provides instant, zero-latency multi-effects for monitoring or recording applications. Each of the X-Station's audio channels has its own effects chain. You can even record audio with effects on one channel and use the synthesizer on the second at the same time! On top of that, the X-Station also has a MIDI interface for integrating external MIDI gear.

Hardware Synthesizer

The fully featured hardware synthesizer also runs on the unique X-Station hardware thanks to its powerful DSP processor! The X-Station's 3-oscillator virtual analog synthesizer is based on the renowned Novation KS series and is 8-voice polyphonic. The extensive control interface provides instant access to all key parameters, making it ideal for live performances.

No cables are necessary as the synth is fully integrated: The stereo audio output is sent straight through the USB cable onto the track in your sequencer via ASIO!

DSP Effects

The X-Station provides two channels of onboard multi-effects. Up to six effects may be used simultaneously on each channel. The palette includes chorus, delay, reverb distortion, EQ, and even a compressor. The X-Station's effects can be routed for monitoring only (for example, giving the singer some reverb while recording) or for recording (for example recording a guitar with chorus). Thanks to the X-Station's unique design, synthesizer and effects for incoming audio can even be used at the same time!

Direct Remote Control

Want a first class remote control for sequencer functions? Need a hardware surface for your VST instruments? Would you like to remotely control other hardware from one surface? The X-Station provides the solution for controlling your Access Virus or Propellerhead Reason.

The X-Station offers a total of 55 assignable physical controls, including three encoders, 16 pots, nine sliders, and 22 buttons. And that doesn't include the dedicated controls in the audio section. A template can have up to a massive 150 virtual controls in total using the shift functions!

Tired Of Wires?

The X-Station only needs one for everything - the USB cable. That's it. Even power is provided via USB or batteries (whenever desired)! So if you really want to make your recordings on the beach - take your laptop, X-Station, and enjoy the sun as inspiration. But don't say we didn't warn you about the sunburn and the sand all over your gear!

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

The All-in-One Mobile Recording Solution

I've made great use of my Remote 25AX, now known as the X-Station. On a daily basis it serves as my midi and audio links with my computer. When syncing with Ableton Live it's flawless. The transport controls, line inputs, and mixing controls are all laid out appropriately with ease to change templates to your own personal tastes. When used as a stand alone synth, you won'te be happier! All the essentials are here with plenty of hands on control of all parameters: amp and mod envelope, oscillator, filters, and a small selection of quality effects. One item that people seem to miss out on (especially when synced with a great VST effects plug-in) is Novation's x-y touchpad, comparable to the DJ friendly Kaoss Pad series from Korg. The full-size keys with aftertouch is nice, keeping the feel of more expensive synths with a certain amount of sturdiness. 2 nuetrik inputs with phantom power (handy when jumping between TRS line level and XLR condenser microphone inputs), 2 TRS outputs, 1 midi in (usually key USB key controllers only provide a midi out), and 2 midi outs (comes in handy when you don't have a midi thru box to sync with a host of VST instruments along with a rack of midi modules). My only complaints are that (1) you lose an input when selecting to play the unit as a synth, this can prove a little cumbersome when playing live and using the X-Station to control your recording software as well and (2) you don't have a programmable arpeggiator.

X-Station Innovation

This baby right here, Novation X-Station, is a piece of art. When I first bought this MIDI controller, I was looking for quality and good sounds/samples. It has aproximately 200 sounds in which I could work with. No matter what, you're going to find a sound/sample your going to love. The number one reason why this MIDI controller worked for me; it had to be the fact I could manipulate the sounds right on the x-station and plug it into a computer to record easily. A recording program that works excellent with it is the Acoustica Mixcraft? 2.51. The quality is very excellent; professional sounding. Do you enjoy MIDI controllers in where you control it, have fun, and it being easy, then look no further. This one is a keeper

Dang cool

This little puppy matches or beats anything Ive used. The only problem I'm having with it is to get it to control my free Cubase VST that came with my EMU Patch mix, but that could be me as I'm a late computer bloomer. Any way as far as a little synth goes it does a WHOLE lot--and you can carry it around and sit it on your lap to dink with it. Well worth the moola!
