The remarkably light Nord Electro 2 Sixty-One Stage Piano/Organ is a perfect gig rig. 61 velocity-sensitive semiweighted waterfall keys and only 17 pounds. The best emulations of traditional electromechanical keyboard instruments ever.
The organ in the Electro 2 is based on the digital simulation of the mechanical tone wheels of the B-3 organ and it offers a number of very innovative solutions to mimic the typical B-3 sound. Such innovations include complex digital modeling of the original B3 chorus and vibrato scanner, simulation of the individual random contact bounces for each partial, and simulation of the unique frequency characteristics of the built-in preamplifier which forms the body of the B-3 sound. The drawbars are represented by up/down buttons and LED bar graphs. So when you change presets, the correct drawbar settings are shown immediately by the LEDs, avoiding the need for trial and error.
The piano section comprises several carefully multisampled electric piano instruments. As a bonus, it also includes an acoustic grand piano. The piano sounds are built up by a vast number of multisamples to catch every nuance from soft to hard hits. USB interface for quick and easy download of new piano sounds. Very flexible effects section including a rotary speaker simulation.
Includes v.2 software.

The Nord Electro is an instrument that is sweet to the keyboard player. The electric piano sounds are stupendous, the B3 organ is something to behold. I've played the vintage B3, C3 and owned a M1. I owned one of the first Wurlitzer electric pianos, the Wurlitzer 100 and I feel in heaven playing it. This machine has got it all. It's a keyboard worth owning and playing, with a great choice of keyboard sounds to select.
This isntrument almost puts you back in the 1970's with its amazing sound bank. It is absolutly incredable that nord has almost 100% matched the tones of all the rhodes, wurlis, organs. I have two rhodes, one wurlitzer, one B3, and i'll tell you what... i almost matched the tones up to exactly the way they really sound. the feature are also amazing. spliting the keyboard helps the live show so much. Insted of bringing 3 vintage heavy as hell pianos to a show, i just bring this, and it does the job very well.the weighted keys make it easier to play to. it isnt like a synth with the fake nonweighted plastic keys. I am impressed with nord, and i love what they are doing. anyone who plays the piano should buy one of these, you wont regret it. the Nord Electro 2 Sixty-One Stage Piano/Organ is a must have for any musician.
I bought the Nord Electro 61 primarily to cover Hammond organ sounds as I'm the world's worst piano player. The NE61 sounds very very good. I have a B3 and a Wurlie 200A at home but for gigging this is the ticket. In a small intimate venue, I run it through a preamp into my Leslie 145. For quick hits though, I can DI into the PA and get a very acceptable Leslie sound. The EP's sound good to my ear. I especially enjoy the Clavinet for one of our funkier songs.
My sister owns one and she is teaching me to play and its amazing. Great sound no cheapy stuff that people just throw out there this is the real deal. Ive been wanting to leanr to play the piano for years and now im learning and getting to leanr on this is just amazing. Great product.
