About Nord:
Many influential musical instrument companies have modest roots, starting in chicken coops, garages and spare bedrooms. More than a few started in a basement, like keyboard and synthesizer company Clavia, makers of Nord instruments. From their very first product, Digital Percussion Plate 1, which brought drummers the capability to play sampled sounds with a previously unavailable range of dynamics and feel, it was clear that this was a company attuned to what musicians were looking for.

Their first synthesizer, the Nord Lead, was the first on the market to emulate classic analog processes, and rapidly became a success due to its warm, analog-like sound, powerful user interface, and striking looks. The Nord Lead was followed by the Nord Modular, an incredibly flexible unit that was the first digital modular synth enabling users to, in effect, design their own instrument by connecting modules with virtual patch cords.
Many innovative instruments followed: the Nord Electro, with its outstanding emulations of classic electro-mechanical keyboards, the flagship Nord Stage and the amazing Nord C1 Combo organ with its incredibly accurate emulations of classic tone-wheel organs.
Nord continues to innovate and remains committed to developing amazing instruments for performing musicians, many of whom are hard at work in their own basements.
