This Interface has been my best friend.. The thing is I never even think about it, I just plug in and go.. which is how it should be, not a factor at all. Extremely Dependable, and everything I could ask for. The reason I am writing this review is to defend this device, I read in a lot of forums that it has pops and clicks.. which I dealt with too about 3 months after owning it AND it drove me CRAZY.. the solution is so simple some models ship with weak/faulty USB 2.0 cables.. after replacing it with one I had laying around, I never looked back This baby is so reliable, no latency and solidly built. You will not regret this purchase.

I needed a USB audio interface for my PC so I could drive two pair of studio monitors. I have a set of KRK Rokit 5's and a set of KRK Rokit 10-3's. I wanted to be able to use both of them simultaneously and play sound from my PC out of all 4 speakers at once. I've used these two pair simultaneously with my Traktor Kontrol S8 (used one pair on mains outs and another on booth outs) and it worked fine. The 5's are brighter than the 10-3's so the pairs together give a much filler sound.

I went with this device versus other devices similarly priced with better reviews on some sites - including the Focusrite Gen 2 products. The 6i6 Gen 2 is similar to this device in price and features, but wasn't available at the time of purchase. Both this and the 6i6 have 4 audio outputs, so I figured I'd be set with either device. Had I done more research, I could have gotten a 2i2 for much less money and it would have worked the same. Reason why? The KA6 won't let you output PC audio to the 1/2 and 3/4 speakers simultaneously. You can send device inputs via the Mic or Line channels on the KA6 itself to both simultaneously, but you can't send audio from the PC to all 4 channels at once.

I'm not sure why this is, but it was a big let-down to me. Because the device contains serial numbers for downloadable software, Guitar Center does not allow returns on the device. In order to accomplish what I wanted to do, I needed to go back and purchase a Mackie Mix8, which allows me to take 1/2 output from the KA6 (balanced) and split it out to two pair of balanced outputs. This works out nice, since I can independently control the gain on both the 10-3's and the Rokit 5's, but it was another $100 spend for the mixer and cables. Now I'm essentially getting the same functionality as a 2i2 paired with the Mix8, but it cost me $100 more.

There should be no reason why they couldn't allow output on 1/2 and 3/4 at the same time. Read the manual before you buy. I learned the hard way.

Comments about Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6:

I am an executive producer and needed a new interface since a new pc in Star Dream Studio, USA didn't have firewire connections. I couldn't use the M-Audio Firewire 610 anymore because it lacks usb connectivity. I did a lot of research and decided upon the Komplete Audio 6 for USB connection. Man this is a solid piece of equipment with pristine sound from this I-7 pc. I am so impressed with Native Instruments Komplete 6 that I am now looking at Machine Studio next. Oh and my 610 is still useful as a preamp only.

Comments about Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6:

It seems to function well. Unfortunately it has to be used on very low quality audio when using two inputs or you get major latency issues.

It should be a usb 3.0 device.

    I was displeased with it.

This is the best interface I have own so far. It is very robust,I am running with 44 tracks with EQ and Comp on each, and 5 buses with heavy plugins each (Isotopes), and it still working without pops and clicks. I used to use the UR22, but it was chocking on me every time I load more plugins. Bottom line, don't hesitate to buy it, it is great!

Comments about Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6:

Within an hour of setting it up I was recording in garageband on my mac mini. Sound quality, check. Great looks, check. Sturdy build, check. All you need to do is download the drivers from NI's website and adjust your audio settings then your ready to go. Only complaint is when I went to register the product at native instruments website it said serial number invalid.

        Was worried at first.

        By Simon Taylor

        from Laurier, WA

Comments about Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6:

At first i was worried because i had heard tons of stories about this device having terrible drivers and having to constantly unplug/plug it back in to get it to work correctly. I had bought it used so there was no cd with it, which wasn't a problem because NI has a very easy website to navigate. i downloaded the latest driver and installed it WITHOUT HAVING THE DEVICE PLUGGED IN! as it says. and i have yet to have any real problems with it. when my screen auto dims it jumps for a second (which isn't a big deal when I'm producing anyhow cause that feature is turned off). and i ONCE had a problem with the headphone jack but as i reached to mess with it it fixed its self. i am on a Windows computer and have used this product with Reason, Reaktor, and Reaper and have had little to no problems with it. the build quality of this thing is excellent! the knobs have absolutely no looseness, even the huge main volume 1/2 knob! no loose feeling jacks. its a hefty piece of equipment and i believe it breaking wont ever be my reason for parting with it. i have yet to try the XLR or Phantom power on the thing. though i have 2 separate guitars through it and it came out very clear and pleasing. i have also enabled the phantom power to check for any noise that it may give off and it was still silence coming through my Yamaha's even at quite a high level. I'm giving this product 5 stars because i cant find any problems with the thing! id recommend this to anybody!

I finally got the right one...

        By ERNEST ANDREW

        from Miami

Comments about Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6:

After purchasing my NI Maschine, i went about looking @ various audio interfaces... First I got the M-Audio priced around $200 but it was lacking in inputs then I went with the Mackie USB mixer but it was too big to transport in my backpack.. finally I did some research & compiled a short list.. I went on various music sites & read & reread reviews by other users & whittled down my list til I had 3 left of the 3 the NI KA6 stood out because of price & bang 4 buck so I decided to go with it even though the guy in the store said to go with the other unit.. Well I am here 7 months later & I made the right decision!! I just got back from being on the road on tour & I took it with me.. First let me say that yes i was initially frustrated with my purchase but i stuck it out & tweaked my Win 7 i5 laptop for audio purposes & I couldn't be any happier!.. On the road it was a breeze to use on stage I was able to control my NI B4 VST beautifully (as well as other sounds)& didn't have a latency issue.. On my days not playing it was fun to be able to do music wherever I was with enough inputs 2 add extra intruments.. The build of the KA6 is super solid! i didnt have to tape it down on stage it stayed right where it belonged.. Read the reviews on this I wanted to add a different perspective so I'm not getting n2 the technical greatness of it.. One caveat inputs 3/4 & 5/6 can't be direct monitored as far as I can see other than that great piece of gear!

        By Kenneth Reynolds

        from Herndon,Virginia

Comments about Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6:

This is a perfect tool for home recording.I'm using it with SonarX1 and everything works.I can now hear what I'm recording through my microphone. My direct input for guitar has no noticeable latency.I run the device outputs through my home theater and set the volume knob at around 1-2 O'clock and that's plenty loud.Easy setup and software recognizes device. My only issue was with trying to register the unit.I was getting a "serial number invalid" message. After contacting support and waiting a week, everything got resolved. The hardware is excellent.I recommend this product.
