If you want to step up to recording on the fly, this is your ticket to unlimited tone. Guitar Rig is exclusively made for guitarist and bassist but can also be used by keyboardist and vocalist. Guitar Rig is the most convenient way to record or play live on your pc and mac without all the hiss and latency pops that other sound cards produce. I own guitar rig 2 and now I stepped up to guitar rig 4 because it offers 25 amps, every effect you'll ever need, midi in/out,9 assignable foot switches,1 foot pedal and its black brushed aluminum housing protects the built in 24 bit 192KHz sample rate usb sound card. The software is a giant leap forward in the evolution of modeling amps, effects, microphones and speakers all which can be assigned and mixed via the built in mixer. You also get a tuner, metronome and a loop machine which allow for easy export. Guitar rig works perfectly in stand alone. I use it with confidence inside ableton suite 8 and cubase sx3 as a vst plugin. If you're a traveling guitarist like me,I'm honored to say that my guitar rig has survived being bashed, kicked, inspected by TSA,and dropped on cement. After two years of owning guitar rig,I'm still producing industrial anthems and customizing overdriven saturated distortion to keep the neighbors happy. I highly recommend Guitar Rig 4 because it's built very strong and it's a perfect sound card/guitar software tone solution that will be with you for many years to come.
Plain and simple: This product is unreal! I can get any tone I can dream up by clicking and dragging effects onto my screen. How easy is that?? It is unbelievably simple and user friendly. I bought the predecessor to this product(Guitar Rig 3 w/ pedal board) and within the month GR4 came out, Native Instruments upgraded my GR3 for FREE with an update link. Native Instruments is constantly producing new effects and amps for GR4, and they send them to you via email for free on release date. Don't even hesitate to pull out your wallet. If you want a fool-proof program, a rock solid pedal board, outstanding service, and an overall great deal, buy GR4 and you won't regret it.
GTRig4 has others scrambling to try and keep up. This latest version of Guitar Rig from Native Instruments is chock full of realism. The Rig Kontrol pedal integrates seemlessly with GTRrig4 giving you more then just a regular floor setup. I have used GTRig2 (I even have a song on a MTV show that I used GTR2 for the guitars) GTRig3 now GTRig4. It could take a book to tell you all that you can do with GTRig4 so let me just say, if you do not know how to mic guitar amps properly, do not own high grade mics and pres for the job or don't even know what phase cancelation is?.. Then get Guitar Rig4 and raise the cailber of your recordings. Plenty of realistic tone pumping out of this Rig, from classic jazz clean to rippin' metal leads. GTRig4 with the Rig Kontrol will not disappoint you.
Recrding guitar has never been easier! I love this software! It is very well designed, though some of the workflow can be improved, it is much better than Line 6. You have fewer amp models than the Line X3, bur that does not mean you can't get more useful tones out of Guitar Rig's 14 models. My opinion is that you can get more useful sounds and tones out of Guitar Rig. The models for these amps have switches for normal, bright, modern, vintage modes depending on the amp you are tweaking. You can also change the bias and the response of the tubes in each of the amps. You can also add and adjust a Variac. The thousands of variations of one Guitar Rig amp model would be a model in a Line 6 product. The Tones you get when you record are great! I'm thinking of selling my X3.
