I should've known something was up when I opened the manual and it congratulates me on my "entry level" purchase. I took a chance on this inexpensive wireless setup and quickly realized you get what you pay for. I tried to use it in an outdoor gig, but it created a hissing sound and the slightest movement would be picked up, so I immediately went corded so save myself the embarrassment. The clip was plastic and cheap (a little duct tape to secure it in might do the trick). Bottom line, if you're getting paid to do a gig, leave this one at the house for practice.

Don't waste your time or money

By jargon

from Washington DC

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

This product really sucks! The signal cuts in and out, which means you can strike a chord and hear it one time. The second time you stike a chord it's as if your amp is turned off. This is a bottom of the line product and if you want a true wireless system, then spend more money.

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

you don't always get what you pay for. this system is super cheap and works just as well as a cable would. this is an amazing product. get it. why not? it works nice. minor cut outs if you get behind a wall oh go up or down a floor. but in a clear space, with this product, you don't have to worry about spinning and jumping around anymore. "Nady" Rules. like my band: No Rules. peace fellow guitar center militia

Wireless Freedom, Finally!

By Ken

from Arcanum, Ohio

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

The wireless guitar system DKW-1 VHF works very well (although does not transmit 200 ft.)it does transmit a full stage live performance. It also work well with my RP 350 digital modeling equipment as well as Microphones, Electric Drums, and Acoustic Guitar. And also interfaces well with Computer digital recording studio.

I was not expecting what I purchased!

By Brandon McGraw

from Dunlap, Illinois

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

I had purchased this Nady DKW-VHF Wireless Guitar System just to get it, I had a gift card and this sounded neat. I thought, "Well, if it doesn't work, I didn't even spend my own money on it." So it came in, and I was very happy when I opened it. I saw the carrying case. Things that come in carrying cases make me happy, because of the convenience of it. It works amazingly. I walked out of my house and to the end of my driveway and it still worked. I was really impressed. I only heard it drop notes when I was in my drummer's basement, but it is hard to find a basement that transmits signals well. I would say get it. If you are performing live anytime soon, or just like the freedom away from chords, get it. It is a nifty little device that is well worth the money. It also gets rid of all the fuzziness you get from a cord. I wasn't expecting that at all. It runs off of 9 volt batteries also. I would invest in rechargeable 9 volts, they are like $5 for 2 batteries, and a 9 volt battery charger is like $5. $10 now will save you a good chunk in the future because 9 volts are expensive. I hope everyone else has the same experience I have with this product. It is great!

LEGIT

By trevor

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

when i bought this i wasn't expecting much since its 60 bucks, but man with a new battery in this thing it works great! i can walk around my house with out any feedback or anything! the only flaw is that when the battery is close to dead, it will make your amp sound super muddy and it sucks i thought it was broken, but when you put a fresh battery in it works wonders!

Bought it, coming back for more of them!

By Steve McGilvray

from Mebane, NC

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

I was hesitant to buy this unit at first. I am so glad I did. This NADY piece of equipment it inexpensive but performs like I spent hundreds. I perform weekly and have had no problems other than the distance, and that was experimental. It will safely cover you on stage without disappointing you or your listeners. It also affords you the opportunity to get down off of the stage and listen so you can make your own adjustments. For the price you cannot beat this product. I am back to get two more systems for some of my fellow musicians. I highly recommend this piece, and to those who may be leary, go ahead and get yours now. Trust Me!

Good, Cheap, Junk

By STD

from salem oregon

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

This wireless actually works very well, especially for the price. I have used it at practice and at small shows where it has worked flawlessly. I would absolutely recommend this as a cheap or first wireless setup. However today the end of the bodypack to guitar cable broke off INSIDE my guitar, while I was playing, I was amazed as there should be no stress on the end of the plug while it is plugged in. You do get what you pay for. After I pull the input jack to retrieve the piece I will find a replacement cable and continue to use this.

Great Product

By D. B.

from Kansas

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

I use this for wireless transport of sound, not a guitar. I can plug the 1/4 adapter in to anything (radio, PC, any audio source) and send the audio wirelessly to the base unit. I haven't tested the maximum range, but it works all over the house and is very clear.

$60?!?!?!?!

By Roman

from Marietta, GA

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

AMAZING!!! One of the if not the cheapest wireless systems and has almost as good as a cord quality... the slightest bit of muddiness is added and it is just barley noticeable. In fact I now rely on that to get my metal tone. Worth more than $60 bucks defiantly. Great... High quality. Wireless. Includes power adapter. You should by it.

I Wouldn't Buy It If I Were You.

By Omar Rogers

from Louisville, KY

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

This item catches a lot of people's attention when looking for anything in the wireless category because of its price. That's how I noticed it. Don't get me wrong, the features and functions on the back of the box are very appealing, but does the item follow through....? In my case... not at all. The range that this thing will give you is supposed to be 250 ft. with 500 ft. line of sight. I sat right next to the wireless system and it still cut out completely on me. I waited for it on backorder for eternity and once I got it, I only kept it for a few days. Then I was on my way back up to Guitar Center to return it. Unfortunately, it was the least reliable thing I have ever spent money on. When I was looking for a wireless system, this was the one I was going to get regardless of any bad reviews. I only focused on the good reviews. I don't want anyone else to make that mistake. I don't even recommend this to a beginner. I suggest you save your money a little longer and then buy something better.

GC and Nady Rocks

By Scott

from Waukesha, WI

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

WOW! Within 5 days of ordering on line,I received my Nady wireless system.I thought it would take weeks to arrive. Once I opened the package I grabbed my Taylor Acoustic, plugged in and started jammin'. The sound was much better than using a cord. The range was more than I expected. I play in a bluegrass/country band and play the guitar, banjo, mandolin and uke and now with the Nady system, no more tripping over cords during instrument changes. Just hit stand-by, unplug with NO POPPING, plug back in and go!!! Many thanks to Guitar Center for their swift delivery and Nady for a great product at a low price.

DO NOT BUY

By Brett

from Derwood, Maryland

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

At first it's amazing! It works perfectly and everything! But since my need for it hasn't been much the past 4 months, I put it away safely. I pulled it out and what do I get? Loud obnoxious buzzing, cut offs for every note I play, and when it does decide to work, it works for about a min but completely destroys the tone. This system is VERY cheap so if you want to buy a wireless, save up for a better one.

Brilliant!

By Jamie Skinner

from London, United Kingdom

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

Absolutely brilliant! The Nady DKW-1 System works flawlessly! It works great in my bedroom, my bands rehearsal room, each of my bands houses and everywhere we've played live! Yes, it crackles a bit, but only when the battery on the transmitter is EXTREMELY low! Chuck a simple 9v battery in there and it's back to its brilliance! For such a low price, this is amazing! Buy it!

luck of the draw

By MICHAEL KELLY

from Simsbury, CT

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

The one I received in the mail not only far exceeded my expectations, it is AWESOME !!! You can try it out at the GC store and make sure it works before you bring it home, or you do have 30 days to bring it back if you got a lemon. This sounds really nice through my Vox AC15C2 Amp and I am very happy I purchased it as NO MORE CORDS !!!!!!!!!!!!

Once You Go Wireless, You'll Never Go Back

By James

from Lomita, Ca

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

Wow! After rigging the Nady DKW-1 into my system, my buddy, bassist, and sound engineer, who was as eager as I to see this in action, flipped the switch. Full on fidelity enriched our ears! It came with easy to follow instructions. At first we had a squelch. OUCH! The instruction had this covered. After a few recommended adjustments from the operator?s manual, we were flying. I will not go back to cables. And amazingly for darn near the same price as I spent on a 20 foot Monster Cable, which is the only cable I buy. With the great return policy at Guitar Center, how can you go wrong? Jim Lair
