Overview

The Nady CBM 40X boundary microphone is a wide-range back electret condenser mic with a cardioid polar pattern. The new CBM 40X mic is smaller and more compact and has better response than the original CBM 40X. The 48V phantom power adapter circuit is now inside the mic eliminating the need for a separate mini-xlr-to-standard-XLR phantom power adapter. The cable is terminated on one end with mini-XLR that is jacked into the mic and the other end has a standard XLR that connects directly to the mixer. The Nady CBM 40X is enclosed in a heavy-duty die cast case on rubber padding to minimize mechanical coupling of surface vibrations to the microphone.

This Nady boundary mic is very useful in a variety of surface-mounted applications such as high quality sound reinforcement, professional recording, and many other demanding sound pickup situations.

Features
  • Ideal for a variety of sound reinforcement/recording applications; Choirs, orchestras, theatrical performances, courtrooms/conference rooms, and inside bass/kick drums
  • Uni-directional pickup pattern and full frequency response of 50Hz18KHz produce top audio at any distance from the source with excellent feedback rejection
  • Rugged die-cast alloy housing on rubber padding to minimize mechanical coupling of surface vibrations to the microphone
  • 9-52V phantom powered

Poor Mic

By Top Choice

from New Jersey

Comments about Nady CBM 40X Boundary Microphone:

I bought four (4), and was going to use them for a Christmas Music Offertory. But the noise these microphones generate is so bad that I ended up not using them at all.

Good for the money

By Fooce

from Pt. Pleasant, WV

Comments about Nady CBM 40X Boundary Microphone:

Got this mic. When my Crowns where destroyed. They cost about 1/6 but delieved about the same sound. We use them for a theater group and this performance had 16 people ranging in age from 8 to 50 and it worked for most except for 2 ladies. Had some feedback problems but you always do with boundary mics.

Great Inexpensive Boundary Mic

By Tim

from Austin, TX

Comments about Nady CBM 40X Boundary Microphone:

Works well, especially for the price. Prone to feedback even at cable's length from the speaker systems. I'm using this with a Vocopro Gigman karaoke mixer for stage performances at my son's elementary school. Don't forget to get a phantom power supply. The Behringer is fine and inexpensive - I'm upgrading it to the Shark DSP110 to try to filter out some of the feedback. It has a pre amp, supplies phantom power, and is supposed to be very good at feedback rejection.
