  • Nady DM70

As reviewed by SABINO LAGATTOLLA on 2/28/2012

I have 2 snares and 3 rack toms. I play gigs 3 out of 4 weeks per month. I use these mics and have found them irreplaceable for the price. They aren't as big as other mics, have rubber surrounds and EQ nicely. I don't care for the drum mounts that came with them. I bought Samson drum mounts and easily switched them out. I use a DM80 for my floor tom for low end punch. I just can't see myself switching to another drum mic, unless I'm given some kind of endorsement deal. Honestly...

  • GET THIS!!

As reviewed by Anthony Croteau on 2/24/2012

I am a semi-professional musician w/over 30 yrs. experience with everything from live performance to home level recording to studio recording. A few years ago, I purchased a DM70, mostly because of the price. I figured if the mic was crap, I wouldn't be out a ton of money. Honestly, I was immensely surprised when I heard it! Recording, I use it clamped to the snare but positioned so it can pick up the snare as well as the aerial toms on a 5 pc kit and the gain before feedback on this mic is incredible. I typically use more of Hugh Padgam (Led Zeppelin IV is his most well-known claim to fame) method of micing a drum kit (no more than 4 mics for the whole kit) so this mic's capability of having a pretty wide pickup pattern lends itself well to my intended outcome. I've also used this baby as a vocal mic for drummers and it outperforms a lot of "go-to" microphones! For $30, you're not going to get a better, more versatile mic. The only reason I rated it only 4 stars is because I don't rate anything 5 stars. Like the title says, GET THIS!!

  • Nady DM70 Drum and Instrument Microphone

Great mic for not a lot of money. Perfect instrument microphone for live shows. Helped clean up the sound from the guitar amp coming through the main speakers.
