This is definitely not the best microphone in the world. Far from it. But, I had to give it four stars because, in my experience, it gave me so much more than a mic should have give me. I recorded a few songs with this fella and used it (due to a lack of better resources) for a drum overhead, acoustic guitar, celeste, glockenspiel, vocals, harp, and other percussion and sounds. This mic is very honest, surprisingly clear and not as noisy as one of the cheapest condensers listed on this site should be. I can say however that it isn't built to last. After heavy usage for about a year, it has become unusable. It may be from putting it through excessive heavy SPL, but nowadays the signal is noisy and weak. Again, its not the best, but I've been able to get some VERY VERY good recordings out of it. For forty bucks? Heck yeah four stars.
